Shopper What is the weight and what size does it compress to for packing?
AARON C Weight is about 6lbs according to my scale.
Whereas it is great once you get to a location that requires lugging your gear around (i.e. on a cruise especially), it is not as easy to get there. Unlike a traditional mesh bag, it doesn't compress well due to the L-shaped plastic area around its wheels. I have to include it in my suitcase, because it takes up too much of my Scuba pro dive and roll suitcase, which all of my other dive equipment fits in. It also takes significant room in your other suitcase; because of this, I've switched to the Akona mesh backpack.
FRED A I don't know the weight but I would think the mfg. website can give that to you. It's pretty light since it's made completely from mesh (other than the wheels).
It DOES fold relatively flat; the only part of the bag that is hard is the bottom plate that the wheels are connected to. The rest of it can be squished so it can fit inside a suitcase or heavy duty scuba bag. In fact, I pack this bag inside a larger scuba bag I put under the airplane, and then when I reach my destination I have this bag to take to the dive boat. I'd say it takes up less space than a wetsuit once you squish it up.
Marilyn S This is 31" x 15" x 14" (78.7 x 38.1 x 35.6 cm), with a volume of 6,510 cubic inches (106.68 liters) and weighs 5.8 lbs (2.63 kg) when empty. It compresses somewhat but not really small as the bottom third or so where the wheels are is reinforced. Still a great bag for hauling your gear to the boat or dive site!
JONATHAN Z It's fairly heavy construction so it does not pack down real small. And the wheels are good size. My guess would be about 15" wide, 12 High and 12 deep. depending on how tight you went. What I do for traveling is to put all my dive stuff inside the mesh bag, then put it inside a 36" cordura duffel. that way there is no need to repack. Then just take the mesh bag directly onto the dive boat. This really is a great bag. Fits all my dive stuff, plus my wife and daughters snorkel gear.
Only issue I have is that it could have a better handle. I can't shorten it enough to take up the sag in the bag. But ths is very minor. Having wheels on a dive bag is priceless.
NICK W I could spend a lot of time talking about this bag but you're crazy if you don't get one. I tell everyone about it and everybody that sees mine wants one. This has to be one of the most solid bags I've ever owned, all the rest of them fell apart. Nice thing about this bag is when you're done with the dive you just throw the whole bag with all your gear in it right in the rinse tub for that quick rinse. If you get one of these bags remember I told you so.
