Laurie T How thick is this gauge (the 2" diameter size)? The boot that is suggested for this gauge indicates that it accepts a 1" thick gauge. This doesn't look that thick?
Rafa S The gauge is 1 Inch thick!
ROBERT B Laurie, my gauge is 1" thick.
TIMOTHY K You really don't need a boot for these gauges. I use them naked on my twin set and two stage bottles. Buy the hoses separtely based on your spec's. My twin HP hose is a 24 inch skinny kevlar hose I dog clip to a d-ring. I use 6 inch kevlar HP hoses for the stages and loop the hose back on itself (tied down with cave line). They get banged around a lot in the back of the 4x4 getting to back country dive sites and haven't had any problems with durability.
TIMOTHY K My Highland guage is 1" thick.
JOHN D I didn't want to ignore you but my reg is in the shop for maintainance so I can't measure it right now. When I get back I will check its dimensions.
John
Laurie T John,
Thanks...no need to reply further....I'll likely just use the guage w/o a boot...
ANDREY Y I personally never use a boot because if a hose or o-ring ever leaks the boot hides the source of leakage, plus shiny backside of the bare gauge may help as a backup signal mirror. It just needs a bolt-clip tied to the hose near the gauge for retention. However the mentioned thickness of 1" sounds to be correct - this pressure gauge is about that thick. Sorry, not exactly an answer but this is my best.

DAVID S yes it is, nice piece of equipment. feels solid, if you bounced it off the boat deck it would not hurt it, I dont use the boot. Where did you find it?
Laurie T Leaisure Pro has it for sale....both the boot and the gauge.
Gustavo C Laurie T: I just bought one of this gauges and I can tell you that is 1" Thick. Now, let me give you this advice: don?t put it into a boot, use it naked, just the way it is. A boot isn?t really necessary and also increase its volumen and therefore drag. In addition a boot traps salt crystal that can damage the gauge. I hope this helps! Regards, Gustavo
JOHN B Yes it is thick. Your right it doesn't appear that way in the photos but is is a thick gauge.
MICHAEL S I would have to pull it out of the boot to measure it but it fit in a standard boot that used to contain a 2 " OMS gauge
SUSAN H Hi Laurie.
Yes these guages are about an inch thick.
Regards
Steve
MICHAEL P It's not in front of me right now, but it's about 7/8" +\- I use them without the boots.
Laurie T Thanks,
What I'm looking for is a backup SPG (I use a hoseless UWATEC Galileo Luna). I would like a compact SPG with a boot but everyone I see has a "standard" length HP hose. I would like to put it on a 21" hose. I used to use a mini pony bottle gauge directly on my 1st stage but it got banged and broke, so I've decided to get a backup that I can keep out of the way but can check it if the transmitter on the Luna fails. This looks like it would do the trick (it seems to be of high quality) if its not to "sloppy" in the boot. I guess I could just stick in some backing if the gauge doesn't fill the boot.
MICHAEL P it'll fit the boot. i wouldn't worry about that. If it seems a little to small put a slice of bike innertube around the edge and it will tighten it up enough to remove any front to back and/or side to side slop.
