Questions about this item:
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
CHARLES W hoseless air integration. with ability to monitor buddys air pressure. NO2 profiles.
JOHAN E Great diving algorithm. Can handle all dive situations I am interested in.
gianni f What kind of battery is required for the transmitter? Can it be changed by the user?
MATTHEW S I haven't had the need yet to change the battery but I don't believe it can be done easily. Research online. There may be a video that shows how its done.
RICHARD T I have had the SOL for about 3 years with 50 dives on it and have not had to change the battery yet. Actually, the battery still shows a full charge. The user manual does say that the battery is user replaceable and lists the type of battery required. If you are interested, the UWATEC website has a downloadable users manual in PDF format.
CHARLES W The batteries are user changeable however it is recomended to have a shop change them. They are speciial batteries that can be puchased from uwatec dealer.
CHUCK T P.S.: The CR12600SE battery mentioned by Greg is the battery used by the watch itself, not the transmitter.
CHUCK T Yes, the battery in the transmitter can be changed by the user. It utilizes a CR2450 battery. ScubaPro recommends that you change the o-ring anytime that the battery is changed, and they sell a kit (comprised of battery + o-ring) for such purpose.
GREG K It uses a CR12600SE type battery and is user replaceable.
SCOTT V I have not had to replace my transmitter battery yet. I would recommend contacting Scubapro, Uwatec's parent company technical assistance line for help.
Shopper can I use the luna to monitor a transmitter from my buddy's older air z nitrox ?
JERRY W I cannot answer your question specifically since I do not have the transmitter you are refering to. However, I have found that you need to be within about 3 feet of your buddies transmitter for it to register and even then it takes some time for it to display the remaining air. Because of this I do not use that feature with my buddy I just look at their computer it is much faster. Hope this helps.
MICHAEL S No. The transmitter only works with the Gallileo. It does work with the older models.

JOSE ANGEL L DOES IT COMPUTER IS LIBERAL O CONSERVATIVE?
WICH COMPUTER CAN U RECOMEND ME AS A LIBERAL COMPUTER?
ROY B Galileo SOL is in fact conservative in all respects. Galileo is a REAL computer with menus from which you can select integers and/or modify certain numerical values. I purchased the SOL for the following reasons: 1) the screen is large, 2) I like UWATEC computers (I presently have three UWATEC computers.), and 3) the Galileo SOL is conservative. Galileo will lock you out if you ignore mandatory instructions (SOS). The computer cannot be reset until 24 hours has passed; however, the computer will return to the gauge mode and can be used as such. The ascent rate appears to be set at 30 feet per minute. This rate gives me trouble simply because I learned a rate of 60 feet per minute more than 50 years ago.
Galileo is the best you can buy at present. Don?t put absolute faith in a pseudo-physiological algorithm. Don?t yo-yo dive, and use common sense. My advice is to go back to the dive tables and remember this: 60 feet for 60 minutes and 130 feet for 10 minutes, and stay within these limits. Why? Computers fail?trust your computer VERY conservatively.
I have been diving for more years than I care to remember and I am still diving today at age 75. I went from skin diving to hard-hat in the U.S. Navy to combat swimming to commercial diving. I will say again?dive conservatively and you?ll be able to stay away from recompression chambers.
Roy Bingham
TOM R This computer has a total of 5 different levels of conservatism beyond the standard algorithm. So there are 6 total levels. There are also other factors one can adjust within these levels to lean toward more conservatism or less. I think this computer has more user control then most of the other computers on the market.
Of course, there is a limit to how liberal one could go as setting the computer to a level that might cause injury would be not allowed.
CHARLES W The computer can be set to 5 different levels of dive profile. ie: micro bubble formation.the highest level is quite conservative while the lowest level is much more liberal and easy to dive with.
MYLES B The sol is a great computer but it is very conservative, almost too conservative, my old computer was the gecko now called the zoop is much more liberal.
DEAN H amigo, ?que tal? no hablo espanol. pero hablo engles. ?esta bein? the SOL is adjustable. you can be conservative or not depending upon you wont.
JOSE L I fell is liberal and You can chosse conservative or liberal , very easy to program .....Very happy with my Uwatec Sol
JOYCE W We bought ours in 2008 and there was no class for instruction, but we studied the manual and learned to use it. Love it! My husband and I dive together so we can check each others tanks, air, etc, from our individual dive computers and keep in close touch. Every one admires our computers! We got a good price from Maui Dive Shop by buying two at a time.
DARYL F Computer is great. Does everything I want it to and more. As far as liberal or conservative not sure what your really asking but it has tones of features you can use or leave alone.
GREG K You can change the algorithm from liberal to conservative on this computer. The MB levels allow you to do this. There are 5 settings of conservatism, L0 is the most liberal and L5 is the most conservative. I personally use L0 and have 100 dives on the computer with no issues. This is personally one of the best and most in-depth computers I have used. You can adjust every little setting and timer so you are protected at multiple levels of safety. I have recommended this computer to friends who have bought it and agree.
FRED A I have a cobra 3 right now, works real good, you can set it for your preference.Have been looking at Galileo but have not bought one yet. Fred
Shopper how many transmitters can i monitor?
BRUCE L You can monitor up to 4 different transmitters. They are designated as T1 which is always your main tank. T2 & TD which are used for diving with more than one gas mixture and the BUDDY designation which allows you to receive tank pressure information from your dive buddy's smart transmitter (if he or she is equiped with one).
I hope this answers your question.
JOHN S From the Galileo Sol's manual:
1.11 Mounting and pairing
of the high pressure
transmitter
Galileo can receive tank pressure information
via patented interference-free communication
from up to 4 UWATEC Smart high pressure
transmitters. Each transmitter needs to be
mounted on a high pressure port of a fi rst
stage regulator.
RAINER O It can monitor up to 4 transmitters: T1, T2, TD and Buddy. T2 & TD are used for diving with more than one gas mixture.
THOMAS S Per the SCUBA Pro UWATEC manual for the Galileo on page 14 you can have 2 transmitters, yours and a buddys (stage bottle). They show as T1 and Buddy on the display. Your buddy needs to be within 5ft and be using a Smart Transmitter for it to work.
MATT F At the same time you can 4 transmitters at the same time although I don't think all 4 will show up on the same screen at the same time. You can also set a different O2 concentration for each tank seperately. you can download a copy of the users manual for the Sol from the Uwatec website and it will give you more details. I hope that answers your question.
JIM W You have a t1 t2 and a buddy check so 3
D DUANE M Yours plus 1 more.
Shopper most less setting?
JOYCE W I'm not exactly sure what your question is, but I can tell you that both my husband and I have matching UWATEC Galileo wrist dive computers with transmitters and love them. We can check in with each other's status quickly and easily. We did find that when wearing a hood, we couldn't hear the audible signals (until we put ear holes in the hoods). The Galileo provides lots of useful information so if you check in on it the audible signal isn't much of a problem. The most helpful feature for me was the bar graph that helps me ascend within limits. My husband likes the graph that shows our dive profile and also likes being able to monitor his heart rate.
MICHAEL S I would be very happy to answer any question regarding the computer but I do not understand what is being asked?
WILLIAM T I don't understand the question/

Whats in the box:Wrist Computer, Transmitter, Polar Belt, Digital Online Class Galileo was a great scientist who was ahead of his time in many schools of thought; the people at UWATEC have paid him great homage by naming their cutting edge dive computer, the Galileo Sol, after him. The Galileo Sol dive computer boasts of great technical advances that would make Galileo proud and maybe a bit jealous. It is no secret that each dive is different and taxes thediver slightly differently. The Galileo Sol is the only dive computer with the ability to track the diver's heart rate and calculatehow it will affect the dive namely air consumption and decompression requirements. The Galileo Sol also offers an integrated digital compass that is completely unaffected by tilt. Now you can navigate the depths of the sea without worrying if your headings are accurate. The large display lends an additional hand to keeping you on track, in termsof direction, air consumption, and general dive data. After your dive, you can download the Galileo Sol's dive data directly to your PC. The easy-to-read charts and graphs allow you to accurately review and evaluate your dives. The Galileo Sol stores the 100 most recent hours of dive data for you; no need to wonder what happened when with the Galileo Sol as your dive computer. One pitfall of many dive computers is they become outdated very quickly. With the Galileo Sol, you don't have to worry about that inconvenience; simply use the infrared interface and upload the latest and greatest features and functions from the UWATEC website. What could be easier? Click here to see a Demo of the Galileo Sol Settings
