The Ellipse Balanced 2nd stage has incorporated many of the characteristics of Ellipse. The Ellipse Balanced has a slightly larger housing which is made from a sound-absorbing material, and a new diaphragm that further improves the already very low inhalation effort of Ellipse. The pneumatic balanced piston allows for constant performance at any depth and with any cylinder pressure in the Scuba tank.
Inhalation Effort can be adjusted with an easy grip knob. The knob is designed to work even when wearing gloves and allows the diver to fine tune the breathing resistance to meet the needs of the dive environment.To further give the diver a custom breathing mechanism the regulator is equipped with a venturi switch, when placed in position (-) it functions as pre-dive mode, and helps prevent the regulator from free-flowing at the surface, when moved to (+) it allows the regulator its maximum performance.The design of the 2nd stage is environmentally sealed allowing the regulator to function properly between annual services at a constant high performance.
An internal heat exchanger optimizes the performance of the regulator even in cold waters. Through an engineering study of the internal air flows of the housing Cressi engineers have created an absolute natural, smooth and very silent breathing capability. The standard exhaust cover can be replaced by the diver for a larger model that pushes the bubbles further away from the diver's face.
The Balanced 1st stage MC9 Hyper-balanced Diaphragm Actuated 1st stage has a lightweight body covered by a protective techno-polymer elastomer shell. The regulator is equipped with four low pressure and two high pressure ports. Internally the 1st stage is coated with an anti-friction anti-corrosion material that reduces resistance and allows the critical components to move freely. This makes the components perform and last longer between annual servicing and increases performance.
Research on internal air passages and incorporating a special assist chamber has lowered the drop of intermediate pressure upon inhalation and has kept this drop at a minimum, guaranteeing higher performance in any situation. Hyper-balancing allows for an increase of the intermediate pressure at maximum depths and when experiencing low pressure in the Scuba cylinder, offering higher performance at maximum depths and during the ascent phase of the dive.
