Shopper How bright is the light?
JAMES B This light gives a lot of bang for the buck. Much brighter than most. I use it as a primary for night dives. With careful handling it should provide excellent service. Mine did flood once (it only has one O-ring) and I sent it to UK...they repaired it. If it is not covered, the repair is pretty expensive because this is a HID bulb...about $80-100 to replace the unit. There are brighter lights on the market now, but in terms of value, this one seems "spot on".

CHASE J UK Light Cannon HID is very bright, much more so than LED lights. The beam seems to travel a good distance. Keep in mind that when light starts to flicker it's time to replace batteries... I can get a few more dives on those batteries but when you put new ones in it seems like a whole different light!
CONNIE F This light gives you more bang for your buck than any other light. It runs best on regular Coppertops, not the rechargeable ones or not the rechargeable battery pack. I used to get 3 dives at around an hour apiece off of the regular C batts before I had to replace them. The good thing about this light running on regular Cs, it starts blinking and fading before it dies. You know you've got a couple minutes to dig out that backup light. That being said, this light can hold its own against the big boys. I have graduated on to bigger, way more expensive lights now but wouldn't hesitate to come back to this one. VERY BRIGHT. The other thing about this light, it's sensitive. Treat it like a newborn. Don't drop it; place it gently somewhere. Don't smack it on a rock. The bulbs are sensitive AND expensive. Get to know the light, too. Take it apart and look at the ballast. It's got a couple of flint pieces in the ballast. Sometimes if the light isn't working, it's because of a bad flint. And I think there are spares. There are probably many scuba boards on these lights. There are also places to buy spare parts.
Mark D Does the light canon accept the optional UK lantern grip?
DERIN D I don't know, because I use the pistol grip. I suspect that the Lantern grip fits onto the light housing. The housing has a trapezoidal track that the grip slides into. The long side of the trapezoid measures 15/16th inch, the short side measures 3/4 inch. If your can measure the lantern grip dimensions (the part that connects to the light's housing), I can be able to say yes or no. If you are confused, I can send a picture of what to measure.
