Questions about this item:
Shopper Anyone with big, big toes notice if these give you enough room?
KEN K Mares fins have one of the biggest boot pockets available. But you should
try them before you buy them. Make sure your feet will be comfortable it's
so important they are. And don't ever wear them very tight. It doesn't take
much your not kicking them, just waving them.
Hope this helps
K. L. Kirby MI - 97111
CHRISTOPHER D I have 12.5 EE width feet and these give you all the room you need. I'd be more worried with a good bootie, if that's your problem, great fin BTW
IAN S I found most of my foot problems were from my boots not my fins but the slingshots are one of my most comfortable fins
Shopper I have scubapro twin jets which are good for my bad knees, but I need more power in currents. What's the scoop on these for knees and what about frog kick capacity? XS needed for size 5 foot?
SCOTT J I use the low torque setting for most diving, and the high torque for current. I left them home on my last trip and regretted that decision. Good fins for barnacled knees. Dive master and Orthotist.
Shopper Debating on whether to get these or the Scubapro Seawing Nova... I dive in a lot of current and I have heard many positive reviews of both fins... are these good for me?
DAVID B Great for current. I use Apollo split fins when diving for pleasure and thought these would be great for the burst of speed needed when working with students and would replace the split fins at the lowest tension setting. Thumbs up on burst of speed and thumbs down on replacing the splits.
WARREN B This is the one you want Best for current
Hollis Open Heel Dive Fins F-1
THOMAS D I am an older diver and I love these fins. On my last trip, toward the end of the dive, my partner thought he was following me and he was moving away from the boat. There was some current. I went after him at speed and these fins moved me through the water. I caught him quickly. I was impressed at how these fins helped me through the water. I have five other sets. These are going with me to Palau. Buy a set of extra bands
PATRICK C Don't wait one more minute! GET THE SCUBAPRO NOVA NOW!!! I have both and the Nova is faster, stronger and an entire pound lighter. MUCH more power in current. I swimm upside down below my students and can easily keep up with them. You will not regret getting the Nova. BEST fin I own (and I own a bunch)!
THOMAS F I do not have any experience with the scubapro fins you mentioned. I do love my slingshots. ZERO cramps, good power and comfortable.
ED S I have been using the aqualung slingshots since 2008. I don't have any complaints. The adjustment straps are excellent for the different water conditions and the individuals strides. I would recommend them. I have a couple dive buddies that use these fins also and they love them as well. Hope this helps u decide.
STEVEN H I have been using them for a few years and love them. Although the length of tbe may not be compatable with dive bags
Shopper hy, i am a size 6 woman and where 7mm boots or a dry suit, is the size small would be to big for ?
KEITH B I dive in the Northeast U.S. and use 7mm boots all the time with an integrated sole. I ordered these fins according to the sizing chart for my foot size and they fit great. My suggestion would be to order the fin according to your foot size and you should adequate room for the 7mm thick boot.
THOMAS D Ma'am, I can only guess based on your information. My wife is a size 6 and, if I were ordering slingshots for her, I would order small. You will still need small booties.
CAROLE D I have size 11 mens (true shoe size) 7 mm boot with an XL fin, fit is good for me.
WILLIAM P No they are true to size I wear 12 and large fit me perfect also just to add the fins are the best you will never want any other
Shopper hy, i am a size 10 and where 7mm boots or a dry suit, is the size regular fine for me or the xl would be better ?
HENRY R Regular should work. I wear a size 9 boot (9.5 - 10 shoe size) for diving and the regular fits well but still has some extra room. Leisure Pros return policy won't let you down in the event you feel you need a larger size.
LELAND M The XLs would be the best choice. These are great fins, very fast.
MICHAEL H Probably regular fin would work fine. I'm a 91/2 and don't have any issues. Even if you do Leisure Pro will exchange your fin to meet your satisfaction.
ANDREW B Yes it should I have the same size boots and I also have the regular size fins.
SCOTT J I wear an xl with size 11 rock boots while wearing my dry suit, and also when wearing size 11 7mm neoprene boots. You will like these fins, but I recommend using the lighter setting when no current is present. This avoids cramping.
THOMAS F Dear sir;
I am a size 10 and wear heavy shoe type soled 7mm boots. The size regular work fine for me. I did change the straps to spring straps, but for my convenience not out of necessity.
BLAIR S I have size "regular" and they fit good (on me) with two different brands of 5mm size 10 wetsuit boots. I wear size 11 dress shoes normally. I don't have 7mm boots to try. The 5mm aren't super tight in the regular size, but I would not try to cram drysuit fins in. My drysuit boots barely fit. But also noteworthy, I'm 6'1", so my drysuit has larger attached boots than would normally fit anug on me (they're size 12 I think). I wear Cressie Rondine-A L-XL fins with my drysuit.
My foot is 4.25" wide at the balls of my feet with my 5mm size 11 boots on. The measurement of the slingshot regulars at the balls of the feet is roughly 4.5". Opening in the back at the bottom rear the heal is 3.75", which is 1/8" smaller than the widest part of my hear with the boots on. Furthest part of the inside of the slingshot to the back lip is 11". Toe to top lip is about 7". My toe sits 1.75" back from the furthest point forward inside the fin, probably because I have a high arch of 4". The heel of my boot sticks out 1" past the rear lip. My boots are 11" long, wirh my toe 34" from the front and heel 1/2" from the rear. Those are the data points I have, hope it helps.
CARLYN T I am a worman and wear a size 8 shoe. I have a small pair of Slingshots for use in the tropics or my 5mm boots here in the Northeast. With my drysuit I had to go up a size to Reg since they were too snug and I needed help getting them off and on. If you are a guy you'll have to adjust this advise to men's sizing. Good luck. I love my Slingshots!
JAMES N Make sure you try the fin on first ....it should have a snug fit... according to the type of boot you are wearing. by snug I do not mean tight... just snug.... there is only 1 drawback to the fin.... the little bungee cords need to be replaced every so often after a lot of use... because they do tend to lose their strength.... make sure leisurepro offers replacements..... the fin is a very excellent fin it has a lot of power with very little effort..tell leisure pro to send me my replacements.....
Nicole M I'm new at this and nervous about buying these online. I'm size 7-8 in shoe and I think I need a size 7 boot so I would be a small, right? Now my husband is a 9 to an 11 depending on the shoe, but when he tried on boots he needed an 11. Would he be the regular or the large/x-large? Thanks!
GALE L If the boots your husband is wear is a thick soled boot, yes he would need the Xlarge. I also wear a size 11 Seasoft Sunray boot which has a thick sole and I have the Xlarge Slingshot. In your case if you are using a thick sole boot, I think most likely you would wear a size 8 boot, a small might be to small for the boot.
THOMAS D The fin pocket tends to the large,
KEVIN M I was an instructor for over 22 years and have lots of fins.I am a 10 and I like for a fin pocket size of a x-Large. for new divers sometime the fin lenght on an Large if more comfortable till you get really comfortable with the equipment. I would say use x-large if possible. Most all of my 7-8 size students uses a medium. As you know if the pocket size is too small it cramps your toes and causes leg cramps
Shopper I where a size 10 shoe and I realize that the size chart says to where a medium but if I get a thicker boot will they still fit?
HENRY R Their regular size should fit. I wear a size 9 dive boot (9.5-10 shoe size) and there is a bit of extra room. Leasure Pro has a great return policy so you won'y go wrong if you end up needing a larger size.
BRIAN D I wore a 5mm boot and had plenty of room to adjust either larger or smaller. This fin is exceptional for fit, comfort and speed. I did have one of the bands break during my third dive with them. Once the band was replaced the fins worked perfect.
DAVID W I wear size 13 and bought the XL fin. I wear 5mm cold water boots and i wish I had the Lg fin. My heel straps are adjusted to their max. Hope that helps
JAMES N Yes!!! With no problem...
GALE L In my case I wear a mens size 11 shoe. I used these fins in Bonaire where it is a must to wear a heavy thick sole boot, I use the Seasoft Sunrays size 11. They worked great with the XLarge fin.
THOMAS D The boot opening is substantial.
Shopper What is the overall length of these fins? Will they fit a standard mesh snorkel bag?
IAN S The fins I purchased as I recall were M and L for my wife and I and both fins would fit in a snorkel mesh bag, please remember foot pocket size SM , M, L and XL etc the lenght of each respective fin size will increase by up to 2", SM will be shorter than XL.
Ian
EVELYN G overall length is 26 inches x 91/2 inches. No problem fitting into standard bag
DAVID B They come in a mesh snorkel bag.
DMITRY P They are big
They will not fit in a standard snorkel bag but need a dive mash bag as an alternative.
THOMAS D The ones I bought are 26 inches from top edge of the sole to the end of the blade. They came with their own mesh carry bag. I seriously doubt that they would fit in a standard mesh snorkel bag. BTW, they are great fins.
SEAN D They are rather long. I had to cut the bottom end out of my akona travel bag fin compartments to accommodate their length. But that being said they are a great fin. Lastly I would not recommend these fins for snorkeling as they are designed to perform completely submerged.
Shopper I wear size 11 shoe, bootie with soft sole when diving. My old Aqua Lung Rocket fins and Aqua Lung snorkeling fins are Large. I'm thinking L/XL is right? Also, do you have extra bands in blue?
LELAND M I wear the same size and bought the L/XL and have worn them diving
in Cayman Brac in June, Love the fins. Very, very fast. Recommend using the middle level with the adjustable straps.
LISA M I am a woman, size 8, and I wear 7MM booties with pretty thick soles. I wear medium. I would think XL would be your best bet.
Shopper What is the length of the slingshots?
LeisurePro S They are approx. 69 cm in length and 24 cm wide.
Shopper Are these negitively or positively buoyant?
LeisurePro S These fins are slightly negatively buoyant.
Shopper Are the power bands--not the heel straps--replaceble?
LeisurePro S Yes, you can replace the power bands, but unfortunately we do not carry them. If you contact Aqualung directly, they can send you replacements.
Shopper Are the bands replacable? Do you carry them?
LeisurePro S Yes, we have the replacement straps here.
Shopper I wear a size 9 boot-what size fin should I use?
LeisurePro S I would recommend a medium for a man and a small for a woman.
Shopper will these fins work with Dry suits?
LeisurePro S Yes, no problem, just make sure you get a big enough pocket size to fit over your drysuit boots (add one shoe size).
Shopper Do these fins come with a mesh bag?
Shopper What are the length of these fins. I have a pair of Mares Volo now
Shopper I wear a size 81/2- 91/2 shoe, and not sure what size would fit me for these fins, a small or a regular?
LeisurePro S I would recommend the small.
Shopper What is the weight for a pair of these fins?
LeisurePro S Each fin weights about 2 1/2 pounds.
Shopper If I wear a mens size 8 boots what size I should get?
Shopper What is the shoe size size range for a small fin?
Shopper what about a mens size 9? what size aqualung slingshots
Shopper I wear a mens size 7 boots what size shall I get? Thank you.
Shopper If I wear a ladies size 9 shoe ... what size AquaLung Slingshot fin fits?
Shopper If I wear a size 10 1/2 shoe....what size fin would I need?
LeisurePro S Regular with a standard soled boot and XL with a heavy soled boot.
Shopper Do you know or is there anyway of knowing about what shoe size the L/XL AquaLung Slingshot fin fits?
LeisurePro S Size 11 - 13 men's
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
THOMAS D Intrigued by the design.
BRIAN D They are a little heavy but provide plenty of power. Great fins. I did have one of the tension bands break the first dive.
NOFAL P Soley because of the other reviews and ads I had seen in dive magazines. I like these fins a lot and they are quite easy to slip on and off in water without much struggle at all...
LISA M If you want to keep a good pace and go easy on your shins and legs, get these. If you have strong legs and want to blow past anyone, or meet a strong current without fear, get these. The hype is NOT hype. They really work!

Whats in the box:Pair of Aqua Lung Slingshot Open Heel Fins When someone says the word "Slingshot", most people gain mental images of something moving fast and adeptly. Those images are key to Aqua Lung's new Slingshot Fins. The Slingshot Fins will help you move through the water with Speed and Ease you never thought possible. These Fins brag of having Power Bands, which are basically Coiled Energy waiting to Spring-into-Action as you Fin. Pure Silicone Power Bands are Loaded-with-Energy on the Power Stroke. They Release their Energy Prior-to-the-Upstroke to provide an Added Boost of Power. Instead of Wasting your Energy, you Accumulate-it-and-Reclaim it! Power Bands Lessen Fatigue and Add Thrust. The Mid-Foot Joint Increases the Slingshot's Flexibility, which will make each Kick more Efficient and Comfortable, partially due to the fact it move the source of your Kicks from the Front of your Foot to the Entire Leg. This takes the Strain off of the Toes and the Top of the Ankle. The result is a Dramatic Improvement in Comfort. You can now use the Entire Foot to Power the Fin. This provides the Blade a Significantly Larger Range of Motion, often up to 5 times that of a conventional fin. Finally, much like a Car or High-End Bicycle has a Gear Shift, so do the Slingshot Fins. The Gear Shift allows you choose one of three Settings to Control your Energy and Effort Levels in Response to your Diving Conditions. Easy to Shift During-the-Dive, the three Settings can be made even with Gloves. Because these Fins contain Harnessed Energy and an Ingenious Design, you'll experience Less Fatigue and Joint Pain and more Enjoyment than you would wearing any other fins. The Slingshot Fins come equipped with Adjustable Fin Straps with Squeeze-Style" Quick-Release Buckles and the Straps have a Large Pull-Tab for Ease of Donning and Doffing. These Open Heel Non-Vented Fins are available in 3 sizes of Small, Medium or Large/X-Large and are available in Silver/Black or Silver/Blue colors. The Slingshot Fins are covered by a 24 month limited warranty.
