As a macro photographer, I need a dive mask that has the most viewing area to fill the bottom half with my prescription lens. I did the research and this facemask has the largest area vertically. I could get it in black, in one pane of glass, with no side panels and it fit my big nose.

I love the way this mask looks (Divers be sweating), feels (once it is on properly), and the cost. My only gripe with the mask is the side strap design. Luckily, for me I was putting on this mask in a pool and not the ocean for the first time. When, I was sliding this mask over my head for the first time the pin from the mask popped out and was lying at the bottom of the pool. It has happened two more times and I was fortunate they were both in pools and not the Great Barrier Reef. There is now glue holding that pin in place. I have not taken out for test run, but I hope to follow up.

I have had this mask for less than 1 year and it is already time to replace it. There has always been a fogging problem, even with defog, and recently it has started leaking badly. I have always taken good care of the mask, so I was surprised and disappointed to see it go out like that. I bought it because it was listed as "mask of the year" by some magazine.

This mask is really comfortable and offers a wide range of vision. That said, I'd recommend that you buy the all-black version instead of the clear version. I bought the clear version, and the sunlight reflects off the inside of the lenses, which is really annoying. Because of that, the clear version isn't good for shallow diving or snorkeling.

I DO NOT recommend this mask!!! Used it once. Was very excited to test field of view. Alas, no chance. Buckle assembly pulled right off the mask as I pulled it over my head! I had to abort the dive. Pin connector between mask skirt and buckle assembly is sketchy to say the least. Failure at depth would be a real problem. Wait for a redesign!
