MICHAEL H Yes, the pockets are closed at the bottom. The 'pocket' itself is about 4X4 inches. Easily holds a 5 lb. weight - hard or soft. The inside flap AND the outside of the entire pocket is covered with some of the best Velcro in the business. Can accommodate large size contents as long as some of the flap and pocket Velcro make contact. The bottom of the pocket has a drain hole. These pockets are very versatile, of course depending on what you want to put in them. They attach securely to the standard BC or weight belt webbing. JOHN C I'm not positive what the dimensions are, however a 5 lb sea soft soft weight fits very snug. There is a drain hole in the bottom of the pocket that is approx 1/4" to 3/8" diameter.

MICHAEL H I've used 5 lb. coated hard weights in mine with no problem. I've also used 3 + 2 lb. soft weights. I also strongly recommend soft weights as a matter of routine - not bulky and don't hurt if dropped on bare feet. Hard weights? Ouch! It happens. Especially on unstable dive boats.

MICHAEL P I've put up to 6 lbs in hard weight in one pocket. These pockets make great weight pockets. They can be positioned in almost anywhere.

DANITA M Depends on the shape, soft weight we use 4-5 lbs each. Typical hard weight I think probably 3 lbs.
