The MDX-5D Underwater Housing For Canon EOS 5D Mark III from Sea & Sea is a watertight case precision-machined from a solid block of aluminum for light weight and durability. It has a depth rating of 330' (100 meters). It's protected against the potentially harmful effects of seawater by a corrosion-resistant anodized coating. The MDX-5D is compatible with the line of NX series ports from Sea & Sea (port not included), allowing for the attachment of wide-angle, macro and zoom lenses. Ergonomically designed with dual handles for a comfortable hold and simple operation, the housing enables access to virtually all camera functions via mechanical and button controls.
The MDX-5D features a rear LCD window with an anti-reflective coating for reduced glare, and improved visibility. This window accepts optional VF-45 SKU: SSVF45 and VF-180 1.2x prism viewfinders (sold separately). The housing is also equipped with a sync cord connector port for a manual converter (#SS-50122, sold separately) or YS Converter/C (requires #SS-50121, sold separately), which will permit the attachment of external strobes, including those that support TTL.
The MDX-5D housing has a HDMI accessory output for use with external monitors. An optional leak sensor (not included) will alert you to moisture or water intrusion, giving you valuable extra time to take action to protect your valuable camera against damage. Sea & Sea's port lock system ensures that an attached port will not loosen while in use. Similarly, dual locking latches prevent the accidental release of the housing back.
The Housing measures approximately (W x H x D) 13.64" x 6.6" x 5.6" (341 x 165 x 140 mm) and weighs approximately 5.51 lbs (2,500 g). Included with the Housing are silicone grease, O-ring remover, 3 and 6 mm hex wrenches, O-ring maintenance manual, instruction manual, and housing body cap.
