Questions about this item:
Shopper how many hours/dives does this computer log? thanks
JOSEPH S The computer can hold up to 999 dives, and 999 hours of diving information. If you collect more data points per hour, the hours will decrease accordingly.
WAYNE B According to the manual, about 80 hours of diving @ 20sec recording interval.
Marilyn S The memory options include a dive logbook (MEM Logbook: a very sophisticated, high capacity Logbook and Profile Memory) and dive history (MEM History: summary of all the dives recorded by the dive computer.) The memory will retain approximately the last 42 hours of dive time for the dive logbook. After that, when new dives are added, the oldest dives are deleted. There is some adjustability. Logbook/dive profile memory recording interval can be set to 10, 20, 30, or 60 seconds with approximately 80 hours of diving with 20 second recording interval. The Dive History Memory can hold a maximum of 999 dives and 999 diving hours. When these maximum values are reached, the counters will start again from zero.
JEFF R According to the manual page 40/41. It can record 999 dives and 999 diving hours in the MEM history. The MEM log book (the very detailed data) holds approximately the last 42 hours of dive time.
GREGORY B Hmm. Don't know the exact numbers. It depends on the sampling rate you set. It seems that having gone on 2 wk trips on a Liveaboard with 3-4dives a day I had enough storage. But I started losing some dives from older trips. I download after a trip so I never had a problem
Love the computer. Great having everything on my wrist. Only downside I has to then buy my wife one as well. No problems at all with prob 300 dives, just battery change. Although I do carry one of my old suunto as a backup as well as an analog spg.
KEVIN H The Vyper Air can store either up to 999 dives, or 999 hours of dive info, whatever value comes fist. After that the oldest info will be lost and recorded over.
dennis b what is the differencde between the complete system and the other similar model for 574.99?
STEPHEN E The cheaper version doesn't include the wireless HP transmitter. The computer will work fine but won't have the integrated air pressure readings. You can get a cheap analog air gauge and then you're set. Or get the wireless if you want to know how much air you have left right there on your wrist.
SANDRA S I would not purchase anything through leisure pro. They do not stand behind their commitments.
GEORGE P The air sensor for your regulator it's a great add on it will keep track of your air and tell you how much air time you have left you can also check buddy's air if they have the same system I have one for 2 years works nice
JON M The biggest difference is the complete system comes with the wireless tank pressure sensor while the $574.99 one is only the watch/dive computer. I have the complete system and for a while used only the dive computer, which worked great. Then I added the pressure sensor and that made it even better. With the air sensor your dive computer will beable to tell you how much dive time you have before you run out of air and it adjusts based off of your depth and how much you consume. The watch itself is great without the sensor as well and can still tell you your no decompress time, but the air sensor is an added bonus and allows you to see everything at one location instead of flipping back and forth from gauge to gauge.
ANDREW D The lower priced unit is just the wrist unit. It does not include the wireless tank pressure transmitter. The wireless transmitter eliminates a hose from regulator to computer making for a smoother diver form factor.
JONATHAN B The complete system includes the wireless transmitter. It also includes the cable for doing data downloads.
Shopper Does the Vyper include the optional cable for downloading log data to Macbook? Is it USB?
TRI D it comes with a USB cable to download data to PC, I'm not sure if the software is compatible with Macs though.
BROCK P Yes, the PC Interface Cable is USB. Unfortunately Suunto software is not Mac compatible at this time.
ANDREW J It includes a USB cable.
Sandra S Does the Vyper display remaining air time and remaining no-deco dive time like the Cobra does?
BRUCE S I'm sorry I have not used a cobra.
ENG YEW L Yes, At the lower left have side of the display it will show remaining PSI. And in the middle, it will how remaining no-deco time.
WAYNE B I am not familiar with the cobra, but the vyper does provide a guess on remaining times based on burn rate and its dive memory, if integrated with a tank transmitter. Make sure to carry spare batteries for both!
ROBERT M Yes when used with the wireless transmitter
JON M I don't know what the Cobra does, but I have the Suunto Vyper wrist computer and the air sensor and it does display the remaining air time and no-deco dive time.
RICHARD T The Vyper Air does display the no-deco time. If you have the optional wireless pressure transmitter and it is enabled the Vyper Air will also display the remaining air time. It works very well most of the time. In over 100 dives with this computer, I've experienced loss of wireless signal (and therefore loss of remaining air and air-time information) probably less than five times. Always carry a backup SPG with the wireless.
LINUS T Yes - it shows both remaining no-deco time and estimated air time. You obviously need the kit with the air pressure sending unit to get the air time.
You can find the full manual on the suunto web site if you want to.
JOHN B Yes, it does give you this information. The user manual is available on-line at Suunto's website. Chapter 6 will walk you through the display.
If I had a 'do-over', I'd choose the integrated instead of the wireless. I had a few occassions where the transmitter link was lost in a dive, leaving me with no way to know my tank pressure, which means an aborted dive for safety reasons. I've since added a backup analogue pressure guage to my rig.
BRUCE T Yes, it displays both remaining NDL time and remaining air time computed from current consumption/ dive profile.
GREGORY B Yes, it does. The remaining air time (at current depth/consumption) and remaining no-deco time are displayed side by side. Current depth is displayed on the top of the display, and 2 smaller displays on the bottom show choice of other information (tank pressure, temperature, time, dive time, etc). I usually leave mine on tank pressure and dive time.
We have 2 of these and use our old Suunto computers as back-ups. Very happy with the Vyper Air, no complaints.
CHARLES P It does display the estimated air time remaining (I believe). Not sure about the deco time, but it does shop time remaining on other safety stops.
Shopper Does this come with the scree protector?
LeisurePro S Yes, the screen protector is included.
Shopper Is the computer software Apple MacBook compatible?
LeisurePro S Suunto Dive Manger is not compatible with Macs, but there are a few dive programs out there that will work with Macs--check out JTrak or DiveLog.
Shopper Does the Air have a tilt sensor?
LeisurePro S Yes, the Vyper Air has a tilt sensor.
Shopper Does the Vyper Air use the same transmitter as the Vytec?
LeisurePro S Yes, you can use the transmitter for the Vytec for the Vyper as long as you re-program is correctly.
Shopper How much is a transmitter?
LeisurePro S SKU SQTVTCT is the transmitter for this computer (same as for the Vytec and D9).
Shopper Approx how many dives does is the battery rated?
JEFF R During my use I experienced 2 years and 60 or so dives on the watch battery and three years and 100 or so dives on the transmitter battery. (water temps between 72 and 86).
LeisurePro S 0 dives/year ?> 3 years, 100 dives/year ?> 2 years, 400 dives/year ?> 1 year. Below 10?C/50?F the expected battery lifetime is about 50-75% of that at 20?C/68?F
Shopper Does this have diver replaceable batteries and a back light?
LeisurePro S Yes, the Vyper air has both a light and a user replacable battery.
Shopper Is there suunto vyper air wrist computer without transmitter ?
LeisurePro S We don't sell the Vyper Air without a transmitter, but you can check out the regular Vyper which is a similar computer without air integration.
Shopper Is there a way to mount the vyper air on a console or some other way besides wearing it on the arm?
LeisurePro S Yes, here is a console boot for the Vyper.
Shopper hi, does it come with transmitter and PC USB interface? Does complete system include the "optional" PC interface?
LeisurePro S Yes, It does include pc interface.
Shopper Does this include the transmitter for integrated air?

Whats in the box:Digital Online Classs, Wrist Computer, Transmitter, PC Interface Cable & Software The Vyper Air dive computer, by Suunto, is the next generation of wireless air integration and computer technology. It allows you tomonitor your tank pressure and air consumption from your wrist or your console; you choose the location. Its 3-D compass will quickly become your new best friend; its ability to give a true reading, even at a 45-degree angle, will make keeping your heading easier than ever. If you use enriched air, you can program the Vyper Air 1% increments for nitrox mixtures (21-100% oxygen). Many dive computers take readings every few seconds; to keep you as safe as possible, the Vyper Air uses the Suunto Deep Stop RGBM algorithm that offers continuous decompression reading and offers an optimal ascent time. The goal of Suunto is to keep you safe; with that in mind, they included the Deep Stop option as part of the Vyper Air. The Deep Stop option includes additional stops between the diver's maximum depth and ceiling to allow divers to gas off safely while making an ascent.
