SCOTT A I have one for my wifes computer, it works great. See hates filling out log bookd, so I can print off the page and enter it into her logbook. So easy. Just remember to set the computer to transfer mode.

Jin R Can I use this for my mosquito computer? I bought it several years ago, so I am worry about the adaptation of the Interface of computer

SUSAN S Jin, Go to the suunto site to download the software. Just search for the software download. The cable should work as suunto has only the one type of connection and it says the software will work with the mosquito. I think the moves count is a new site suunto has but I don't know anything about that new site.

SUSAN S Yes, I believe you can. The old suunto dive manager software has been replaced by Suunto DM4 and you have to go to suunto website first. It tells you to go to movescount dot com and you can download the new software they have from there. It does show that the it will work with the mosquito. Yes, there is an app for that. Suunto software used to be only PC compatible but now has a Mac version. Yeah!!! Or I think you can still download the old Dive Manager from Suunto and since the mosquito is an older model, should work. But it is only for PC.

Denis D Does this cable support Dive Manager 4 (DM4)?

JOE H I don't see why not. I actually have DM 2.3. The cable has a USB plug on one end and a special plug to hook to your dive computer on the other end (I have a Cobra). I can't imagine the version of software would make a difference on the plug. The program is cool. It's fun to see how your profiles look in graph form.

JAMES D I am pretty sure it does as I use DM as well but not version 4. I wouldn't expect Suunto to not make it workable.

Nancye T My sister has Cobra 1 and I have Zoop -this works fine with Zoop but not with Cobra 1 - is there a different cable for the Cobra 1?

LESLIE B That is the cable that I use for Cobra 1 and 3 as well as Mosquito.

SCOTT A Make sure you are in transfer mode on the cobra, go tomodes and look for tran mode. it should then transfer your dasta .

PETER R as long as the connections made to the Cobra are the same as the Zoop, I would make sure that the Device driver for the Cobra was installed correctly, from the installation disk.. also, you may want tom find if there are any other known issues by Googling this issue. Good luck

LeisurePro S Unfortunately, this Suunto download cable only fits the newer generations of computers; we don't carry the old style interfaces for the Solution/Alpha/etc.

LeisurePro S Suunto does not make a download kit for Apple directly. There is some Mac dive software you can download yourself and use with Suunto computers, but it is not made by them.

LeisurePro S Yes, the latest version available for download can run with Vista. If you visit the Sunnto download site, there are more details available.

LeisurePro S The cable connects to the computer via a special piece that attaches to the water contacts. The water contacts also double as data transmission sites.

If you like the idea of having a copy of your dive log on your PC to review & annotate, the Suunto Dive Manager & PC connection are great products. All in all, they worked as advertised & are great additions to your dive gear.

I did have a little trouble initially getting connected to my Suunto Cobra dive computer , but that was my fault because I didn't realize that the Cobra needed to be in "data" mode before it would react to the PC connection. I guess I was expecting a USB "plug and play" connection.

Anyway, once I had the Cobra in the right mode, the PC connection immediately recognized it & stepped me through the process of transferring the dive log to the PC. The connection wasn't particularly speedy, but unless you do hundreds of dives, you won't be doing it all that often anway.

After I had the log transferred, the Suunto Dive Manager UI was very friendly & efficient. I spent a few hours reviewing my dives, adding gear items, & annotating each dive with my own information. It can actually become somewhat addicting if you're a detail-oriented person like I am.

All in all, the Suunto Dive Manager & PC Connection worked as advertised & can be great additions to your dive gear if you're the type of person who likes having a copy of your dive log on your PC (mine is a Dell Dimension 8400 running Windows XP SP2).

I have a Cobra and a Mosquito (back-up); the connector fit to both is insecure and required a two hand hold to work until I rigged a base with some urethane rubber and a pair of rubber bands, something you shouldn't need to go around inventing.

The software is buggy and at best gives a hit and miss connection. In almost 60% of instances, it fails to recognize the dive-computer at first try; then, it appears to compete for the same USB port with my Palm organizer "Hotsync". Sometimes it forces me to reboot the host computer to get a viable connection. If you add USB peripherals that might sequester the defined port, you'll have to undergo an involved and undocummented procedure. The software documentation is next to nil.

On the other hand, the logbook is fairly decent with customizable fields, and it admits a number of different users with separate logbooks.

To finish, this should be a freebie included with the computers, it's too ill designed to be sold as an extra.

If you own a ZOOP you need this...it is made for your Suunto by Suunto and you can't beat the price or the additional warrenty

Cable easily connected to my Cobra Dive Computer and downloaded into a secondary dive program I had to purchase. Description that this is a kit you purchase and showing a disc in the picture is deceptive, you only get a cable and have to buy secondary software to use it.

Upgraded pc and old cord no longer worked so I broke down and got the USB version. Worked very well
