Nikki P Do I buy this for a new tank just purchased from here? It's an aluminum 80. Thanks for the advice!
PHILIP C Yes,it protects your tank.
MICHAEL V Hello Nikki,
I purchased one of these for my steel 100 tank and can be honest I cut it off after the fourth dive. The seal never gets to be quite 100 percent waterproof and that will cause problems. I went ahead and bought mesh one to wrap my tanks in and have not have any problems with it. Hope this helps.
TIMOTHY R Yes! They protect the tank well.
JOSEPH V I would only buy it if you were planning to use it to protect a Scuba Hides graphic cover. If you are just wanting to protect the tank, Sherwood sells a mesh tank protector that allows you to rinse the tanks and get all the salt off. You cant get water behind the scuba hides to properly rinse the tanks after a dive.
Hope this helps
JOHN L You can if you don't want scratches. I found it took a lot of heat with a dryer to shrink it all the way. It will help prevent minor scratches.
JOHN S I haven't used the shrink wrap yet. I am waiting for the old paint to finish chipping off before I apply it. I got a net for my newer tank AL which seems to help a lot when I sit it on the rocks. Remember if your tank isn't getting scratched up it isn't having any fun.
JON B Bought mine to make my tanks easy to spot. Get plenty of shrink wraps to cover tank inspections.
JIM A If you would like to keep your "new tank" from getting scratched while getting the new tank filled, it is not a bad idea. However, as your tank ages and gets "chipped" you need to look for corrison under the plastic cover. If you see any corrison, then you will probably need to remove the Scuba Hides tank cover. Hope this helps.
DANIEL L Save your money I had a few and they never shrunk right on the tank..Just by a mesh tank cover ...
