I bought this light as a primary night dive light since my wife has a larger primary night dive light. It works very well for night dives but is a bit weak for a day dive. It is compact enough to leave in your BC pocket and always have it with you.

Our two lights flooded on the first dives December 2012. Thinking I didn't tighten the first one, I carefully siliconed the o-rings on the second one and screwed it down hard, but it only last a few minutes longer. A friend of ours had the same thing happen with his Torrent light January 2013 on the first dive, so there's obviously a design flaw.

I gave my UK SL4 eLED 400 lumens light to my dive master in Jamaica in lieu of tips. He claimed shipping to his village was exorbitantly expensive, and he could use the light to supplement his income by (legally) hunting lobsters, so.... Instead of getting another UK light, I bought the Princeton Tec because it uses AA
rechargeable batteries, and I already had a supply of those and a charger. I thought it made sense instead of lugging C cells and another charger just for the UK light. Problem is, at only 126 lumens, the Princeton Tec literally pales in comparison with the UK SL4. To make matters worse, the Princeton Tec's switch lock always slides down, meaning I have made many a dive with a hot, bright BC pocket! As long as I remember to check it periodically during the dive, the Princeton Tec makes a decent low-power dive light. I don't do much night diving or cave diving, so this light gets used mainly to brighten up the occasional swim-thru, help my camera focus in low light, or get the attention of other divers. If I can find a more powerful, compact light that uses AA batteries, I'll consign this one to backup status.

I bought two of these for my wife and me when we did our AOW dives. They come with batteries, and seem pretty bright. When it came time for our night dive my light lit up fine and was bright and focused. My wife's was much dimmer, I'd say ~1/2 as bright as mine. Something that was hard to determine in the daytime, else we would have done something about it. Luckily the dive instructor had an extra for us.

When I was removing the batteries the next day I noticed if I twisted one of the batteries in my wife's light it would be as bright as mine. Must be something with the battery contact or maybe the battery itself. I could see no obvious reason why it would do this. Easy to fix during the day, not so much at night. I'll keep them both and use the twitchy one as a back-up or maybe an around-the-house light.

The lanyards are nice and overall the construction seems good and solid. I've read people have issues with the switches butI found them to be solid as well. Came with a load batteries too.

3 flags since one worked great and the other more-or-less worked.

use it only twice so far for testing in murky water and down to about 30 feet. It works great as a safety backup or for dive that you don't feel the need to carry a bigger light.
