Any idea how to unscrew stuck/seized spear shaft from pole? Does applying heat work?
EDWARD B Have not had this issue yet with my spear, but would spray heavily with WD-40 and let soak. Then use a vise if available to hold the spear shaft (less desirable locking pliers) and allow you to really put pressure. Always disassemble after use and flush with fresh water to lessen the chance of sticking.
STEVEN P Heat often loosens two pieces of metal that have seized.
MICHAEL S Try an oil bath if you can. Completely submerge the pole in oil and let it sit overnight. WD-40 is another option. Tap lightly around the stuck section with a hammer repeatedly. It is salt that is the problem. It needs to be dissolved and broken up.
