Shopper Does this fit the VEO 3.0? I doesn't look like it would fit the slot. I have the wrist computer. dont know if it makes a diffrence.

STEPHEN G I have an Oceanic VT 3 computer and I do use the USB cable that came with it to connect to my computer. I unfortunately cannot tell you if it is a universal connector and will also work with the VEO 3. Probably a question better sent to Oceanic. Sorry couldn't help

JOHN P No. The software can be down loaded from the Oceanic web site.

JAMIE B Yes, but i think it can also be downloaded from Oceanic.

JONATHAN K No, you download it from the Oceanic website.

TRANSPORT D The software comes with the computer, however, you can easily download updated software from the Oceanic website as I have since lost my original CD.

LC B Software is not included. There are many software packages available. Use your favorite search engine and specify your operating system and you'll find numerous options.

DAVID I The software is free. Go to the Oceanic web site to download it. it's effective but basic software.

LC B The numbers on the back of the cable are: 049606 (probably the SN) and then 10258

TRANSPORT D It is Oceanic's P/N 04.9606 and works for all the listed Oceanic Computers. I purchased an extra cable for my VT3 - it works perfectly.

Shopper I have both a Oceanic Pro Plus 2 and Pro Plus 2.1. Will the one for the Pro Plus 2.1 work with the Pro Plus 2?

LeisurePro S Unfortunately, they do use two different cables. The one for the Pro Plus 2 can be found here and the one for the Pro Plus 2.1 can be found here.

Shopper I have the Oceanic Pro Plus 2.1. Will this cable allow me to sync with no problems to MacDive?

LC B Yes. You will need to follow the MacDive instructions for installing the driver and then discovering a device via a virtual serial port. Go to the mac-dive home page and click the "Devices" link. Follow the "Oceanic" link to get to the ftdichip site for the driver. Follow the instructions from there and you should be good.

RANDY K It will allow you to download to the OceanLog (Oceanic software) for sure. I don't know if you will then have to port it over to MacDive or not. DiveLog 5.0 will allow me to download directly to it's program but I loose some dive data details. None is lost if I import from the OceanLog software so that is the method I use. Hope this helps.

Marilyn S Yes this will work with MacDive but you will need to download the FTDI USB driver. Go to this link http://mac-dive.com/devices.php and scroll down to "Oceanic" to get the link to download the appropriate Virtual COM port (VCP) drivers.

NIGHTOWLS W MacDive does list the Oceanic Pro Plus 2.1 as a supported device. This cable would connect the dive computer to your Mac Device. In the event you buy the cable, and then find out it fails to work, you can utilize the Leisure Pro return policy.

Not as Friendly with Vista Operating Sys

My computer's serial number is 1001 - the first one? It worked ok with Windows XP, but my new laptop was loaded with Vista Business. The software required patches that still doesn't work right, so I use a different computer to load my dive logs. A minor inconvenience that I am sure they'll remedy. The tech department at Oceanic is VERY helpful and for that reason alone I'll stay with Oceanic. One note however, this item comes as a package with the VT-3 Computer, and I had to return the extra USB

BUYERS BEWARE: Terrible design!

Terrible design, I was born with common sense but even this elluded me. I called the tech desk for this site and they walked me through. You'd never guess how the engineer designed this. You'd think he got his degree on line.Duh! And USB is meant to be plug and play-not just for the computer. After I attached it, one of the flimsy male connectors canted sideways and now I have to manuever it with a pinn before I can use it. This product is NOT worth buying.

This little wire is really expensive but it works and I don't know any alternative. Being able to analyse your dives is very useful for many purposes. The Oceanic software that you have to download is mediocre and I'll probably end up using some other software to track my dives when I get around to finding a better one.

Physically connecting the cable to the dive computer was not the most intuitive and any instructions would help this process (which after doing once is pretty easy). I have only uploaded data from the dive computer once and it took a couple of tries before it worked. I don't foresee any problems in the future.

If you have an Oceanic computer and want to analyse your dives, I don't think you have any choice. The cable is good enough and I'm happy that I bought it.

I like it. I can download the complete profile of the dive and use the program to record my log. I can graph depth, time to deco, temperature, etc. The interface is pretty good but I have also exported to excel to do custom graphs.

It worked with windows 7 32bit but it didn't work with my windows 7 64bit. Could be user error but didn't know how to remedy.

Cable makes transferring dives fast. The Oceanic program is a little temprimental, but the cable is nice.

I purchased this cable to link up my Oceanic VEO 250 dive computer to my desktop and/or laptops. Needless to say, the Oceanic software is NOT user friendly and the cable is poorly constructed. The pins on the cable to not make proper contact on the dive computer. The pins will bend very easily if the cable is not inserted correctly into the dive computer. Very flimsy design. Oceanic could have used either a mini USB connection or infrared. I would NOT recommend this Oceanic product to anyone. If you are in the market for a decent dive computer and willing to spend the money...I purchased a UWATEC Galileo Sol. Much better technology and computer link up with infrared.

Getting the drivers configured for my 64-bit laptop took a little extra effort and making sure that the USB connection at the dive computer was inserted correctly was very important. the device works well
