Shopper powerful enough to use as a primary on night dives?
JANET S The light is powerful, but to be honest, I have not taken it on a night dive. It has plenty of light outside of water and think it would work great.
PAUL W Yes. It is plenty bright and I use it as my primary on night dives.
JOHN J YES.
It is pretty heavy and may want to change your lead weight.
BOB B I have used this light as a primary on a night dive at Bonaire. I was very bright and worked great. My girl-friend was carrying my Underwater Kinetics 4 cell light, It made that light look like a dim candle! You could really see the difference, hers had a yellow cast while my Oceanic was a bright white. It's a good light. It is long. A bit hard to manage for daylight wall and crevice exploring.
CATHY D Yes! It is a very good primary light. Just completed a night dive 2 days ago - with 2 ft. visability. Definitely recommend this purchase.
BRUCE R Yes, it certainly is, in fact any brighter than this and you will scare the critters away!

Chad S It's bright enough if the water is clear. Using it in murky water is like using your brights in the fog. This is a big & heavy light. Adjust weights accordingly.
TRANSPORT D It's a very good light as a primary, though not as great as my UK Light Canon. The flashlight is better than a C8 which s considered by many to be a primary.
YOUNG JI L good, but too big and not that useful for diving.
I think it's a little heavier than I thought.
I recommend small and brighter than 1000 lumen flash lights.
DAVID M M Great light. Good for night dives, even for videoing.
Bob L I cant say for sure because I sent mine back. I never tried it under water but I did try it in the dark. I thought the beam was weak and yellow. I bought the UK Eled light cannon and C4 eled. Depending on they type of diving these would be far better in lower visibility or wrecks. I used them in the clear water of the Bahamas and they were actually too bright. They seemed to scare the wildlife off more than the weaker lights everyone else had. These would be the ticket for photography I bet.
JAMES S Sorry
Have not used it yet. It's very difficult to find a good dive light for under $200.00, I think this one will work
I will be diving this winter in Mexico, I love night dives

STEPHEN C I use this light as my primary for night dives always. So yes. I love the size and durablity.
ELICIA T Absolutely! I've used it on night dives as my primary light and it's brighter than the lights other divers were using. I really love this light!
