Comments about Oceanic Alpha 9 CDX-5 DVT Regulator:

Purchased on a friend's recommendation and couldn't be happier! Only complaint really is the cap to cover around the DVT leaves a black residue the first few times you use it. Make sure to clean thoroughly.

Comments about Oceanic Alpha 9 CDX-5 DVT Regulator:

I have about 10 dives on this reg, and Im very happy with it. I like how light weight and low profile the second stage is. It breaths quite comfortably, but Ive only taken it down to 80ft.

The max flex hose is great. It makes it very easy to turn your head. The reg isnt constantly tugging on your mouth.

Sometimes, when you turn the tank on, there is a very slow leak directly out of the mouth piece. This can usually be solved by tapping the second stage into the palm of your hand. It seems to have fixed itself as I have used it more. Im not sure if this is specific to my unit, or occurs on all Alpha 9s.

The 2nd stage also has a bit of a humming sound during exhalation. This could be because I exhale rather slowly. The sound does not occur during a sharp exhale.

No one else has mentioned that the intake on the 1st stage has the "Oceanic" protective nipple. It stops water from entering the intake of the 1st stage if it is submerged while disconnected from the tank.

The only thing I would change about the reg is to add a venturi/ crack pressure adjustment knob.
