Questions about this item:
Shopper How much does this BCD weigh?
BERNARD B This Bcd is heavy especially for a woman. It is heavier than my Sherwood bcd which is a medium. I just purchased a zeagle stilleto from leisure pro. The zeagle is light weight and well made. I'm trying to convince my wife to get a zeagle for women.
Shopper Is this BC back inflate or jacket style? If its jacket style, how much squeezing do you get?
MELVIN D It has a full wrap around bladder, and fully inflated squeezes very little.
NICK K Back-inflate. Zero squeeze.
YAGEN G It's back side does inflate a little bit, if I remember correctly ( I haven't used it in a while and living overseas without it). I will tell you that's its a great purchase, very comfortable.
ROBERT M Got this BC for my girlfriend, it is a jacket style BCD, I have actually worn it myself too, little tight on me when filled up (I'm 5'11" she is 5'8" both medium-smallmedium build for our height) , but she has had no problems with it. It is very very comfortable, she has not mentioned if it it is really tight when full, but like I said, she has nothing to complain about it either. It is a little stiffer then my BCD so it it a little bit harder to pack in a suitcase if you intend on traveling w/it but no major hassles, it is easier if you take the weight pockets out...which are massive fyi. The side pockets are a little awkward in my opinion, but they work well enough for a small light.
~Rob
DIANA G It is a jacket style and I don't notice a squeeze affect at all. It is very comfortable
CINDY E I just purchased and received this BCD. The trim pockets look like they're upside down. The openings points down. I put a soft weight in each trim pocket, closed the clasp and when I turned the BDC upright, both weights fell out. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
NICK K Cindy, the trim weights are actually hard to get into the pockets, you need to unclip, then push the weights into the cavity, and around the flap (which is hard to see) and into the pocket itself. Then clip the cover, I think you are trying to insert the weights just into the cover, that wont work. Hope this helps.
Peter S Generally the weight pocket release system is quite fool proof> The zipper which hold the weights in the pockets goes in to the retainer first and the clip with the red safety pull secures the assembly. The good news you purchased the BC from Leisure Pro.......They will help you out!!!
CINDY E OMG!!!!! Seriously??????? Forget it, please just forget I asked.
JOHN A Look at your trim pockets notice the black male clip. This fits into a corresponding female clip on the outside edge of the pocket of the BC. It must CLICK in.
CINDY E People, I'm NOT asking about the integrated weight pockets. I'm not a new diver, this is my 3rd weight-integrated BCD.
I asked about the TRIM pockets that are in the back, under the bladder, toward the bottom of the BCD.
JEANNIE M My only suggestion is to ensure that when you put the weight pockets back in, that you make sure they are fully in (they should make an audible click into the clasp inside the pocket). If you don't hear this, they'll probably fall out. Sometimes when my pockets are full, it can be difficult (have to shove them in a bit). Hope this helps!
RICHARD C The pockets are at the top with the zipper and the inserts are where you put your weights where the red handle is. You can also put your weight behind the bcd so that when your in the water surface it will balance the weight from tipping forward. As the trim being upside down I'm not sure what your talking about.
CINDY E I asked about the trim pockets, not the weight pockets. Never mind, I'll figure it out. Thanks.
RICHARD C "the pocket is at the top with the zipper" if its zipped up nothing should come out of the pockets. By the way I got it for the wife and she loves it. Enjoy your new bcd!
CINDY E Trim pockets are in the back toward the bottom of the BCD, under the bladder, there is no zipper. Good to hear your wife loves it. I'll figure out the trim pockets.
RICHARD C Oh yea. There is a pocket on the back of your bcd where you put your weight then make sure you clip it so that your weight won't fall off.
Shopper I'm 165cm 52kg 30"waist, 34"chest
Which size is right for me?
RUSS D Sorry it took so long , I would try the med.
JEN S I would go with the XS.
I am 5'7 ,140lb and about the waist and chest and I wear a small.
JONATHAN W My wife has similar measurements and she wears a medium. I hope that helps.
DIANA G I purchased a medium and love it. I am 5'9, 135 pounds with a 28 inch waist and 36 inch chest. the medium works good for me. Everything is adjustable, so I think you will be very happy with it. The back support it has is awesome too!
WILLIAM H Probably, go with medium, which will fit even if wearing a wet suit and so forth. A small would fit but maybe only on bare skin.
Check with the store too.
KIMBERLY S It sounds like we are similar size wise. I got the xs & it fits well. Did 14 dives with it in Salt Cay in June worked great. & It's a good looking bc.
DIOGO B probably an extra small... that's what I have, my chest is the same and waist a bit smaller, and i'm taller by like 10cm.
Debby P Is it weight intergrated system?
ANDRZEJ J Hi Debby. Yes it is weight integrated. By the way I highly recommend this one. My wife just loves it. It's very compact, light and very comfortable.
WILLIAM P Yes the one we purchased is weight integrated and my wife just loves it. We have taken it on trips to Cozumel, Roatan and Bega island Fiji. No complaints.
BRYAN N yes, it has a weight pocket on each side with very nice quick release handles. each weight pocket has a zip closure and divider in it to seperate weights if needed. we have used hard and soft weights in it and i really perfer soft. it also has a pocket in the lower back for trim weights but cant be disgarded without taking the BC off.
PASCAL SCHLEGEL B Yes Debby, it is. The weights go where you see the red handles. Those handles are attached to the weight pockets. When you pull those handles, your weights will slide right out easily.
MONICA V Yes it is. The weight pouches are easy to remove and reinsert. I love my BC!!
JEANNIE M Yes, it is weight integrated. There are two weight packets that are located on either side near your hips; the releases are the two red things on the bottom in the picture. They fit about 6 lbs in standard-sized weights apiece, so when using a thicker wetsuit in cold water, I have to place extra weights in the BC pockets.
JOHN A Yes.
See those two, red-orange things on either side of the bottom of the bc? Those are the quick release pulls in case you need to dump weight.
The bc is terrific. My wife has used it for four years all over the world and loves it.
JANINE B Yes. It is an awesome BC. I highly recommend!!!
KRISTIN R Yes. Pockets pull out.
JAMES B Yes, rated maximum of 10 pounds per pouch according to the booklet.
Shopper What is the difference between this and the AT model that is more expensive?
LeisurePro S The AT version has Mares' Air Trim system, which eliminates the corrugated hose from over the shoulder and reduces the inflation/deflation to two buttons on the lower side. SKU MRSKL has the traditional over the shoulder hose.
Shopper I am female, 5'6'', 148#--size? What is its weight--such an issue with flying anymore.
LeisurePro S I have a shipping weight of 8.8 pounds. I would recommend a medium.
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
RICHARD C looks and very practical. inadditional i'm a mares fan.
Shopper Does this BC have a rigid back plate?
KRISTIN R Yes, there's a hard piece of plastic in the back that is inside the lining.
DONNA W No it doesn't I have used this BC 4 years And still love it. I am only 5 foot And thisBC fits very well.
PAULA R Yes, but it is on the outside. Its nicely padded on inside.
RICHARD W Yes this BC does have a rigid back plate. It is the perfect length, it gives the BC/tank the proper support in the right areas, but is short enough that it doesn't dig into your neck or low back.
Marilyn S This does not have a rigid back plate. There is a cushiony back pad however that protects your back and is very comfortable.
