Questions about this item:
Superior L is there a diffrence between Mares Icon HD Air Integrated and Mares Icon HD net ready?
TIM M Not to my knowledge. Net Ready means that it is air integrated. The prior computer was just called Mares Icon HD. It did not support air integration. When the net ready version was released, it was upgradable to air integration with the addition of a tank module.
ROBERT J To be more specific: the item that is listed does NOT include the transmitter that would screw into the HP port of your first stage. Therefore you would NOT be able to read tank pressure from the computer and your remaining NDL time would not consider air consumption rate or remaining tank pressure. If you want to have these features, you would need to purchase the transmitter.
Be safe!
Cheers.
ROBERT J Hi,
The original Icon HD did not have the ability to receive data from a HP transmitter that are screwed into the HP port of the first stage and typically replace a SPG. Later in the production run, Mares include a receiver unit and software to allow for use of a HP transmitter but at the time was not yet selling the transmitter. This is referred to as Net Ready. Once the transmitter was in production and ready to ship with the wrist unit, it became Net Ready & Air Integrated. The Icon HD is capable of managing three gases but I do not recommend using the air integration for more than one gas. The same is true for monitoring a buddies air. Be safe, keep it simple and use redundant air delivery systems and air sources.
TERRY L No difference at all. Same watch and dive computer. Great computer!
Shopper hi, is this the net ready version?
TERRY M Hello,
The unit I have is not yet ir integrated. I have to get the recent air integretion upgrade, which also makes the unit net ready. My Icon is not yet net ready though. I hope this helps.
Sincerely, Terry
David O The Icon HD collects all your dive information for your dives and it can be downloaded into your computer. You download the dive log program from Mares and it works great for me. You can download pictures into the wrist unit to enhance your dive trip information. I have not done that yet. I take photos with my camera in housing and download them into the dive log. I enjoy the color and HD screen. I am not sure what you mean by "net ready" version. A suggestion is not to purchase the Mares screen protector. Vendors will charge you $30 for a thin sheet of plastic with an adhesive side. It does not protect very much at all and is not worth $30. There is no protector on the market yet for the actual wrist unit. The Uwatec units offer a large hard plastic protector so you do not dent up the unit during cavern or wreck diving. I wish someone would make one for the Icon HD unit. I hope this helps.
Jean-David D Just so I am very clear.....the computer is ready for the hoseless module and they must be purchased seperately?
TIM M If it says "net ready" in the description it is ready for the "hoseless module" or as they say air integrated. My understanding is that the Icon HD net ready can be purchased with or without the Air Integration (AI) transmitter. I believe that Leisure Pro offers it both ways. Use the 800 number to contact if you are not sure what you are getting. It is an excellent computer with or without the transmitter. When I first purchased the computer AI was not available but promised. It is even better with the AI. Hope this helps answer your question.
MARK W You are 100% correct. The unit is ready for the hoseless module which is purchased seperately. I purchased my Icon HD in January of 2011. I used it for diving on the Great Barrier reef in February of 2011. When hoseless module became available, I upgraded my Icon HD and purchased the module. Now I know what I was missing while diving in Australia: 1) one less hose for my cylinder pressure guage, and 2) the ability of following air consumption during my night dives without struggling to find the pressure guage. I believe this would allow for increased concentrate on the dive and focus on finding more underwater critters
Dan A Because this is upgradable does it mean when they finally make this hose less air would it be upgradable for that as well?
Bill P This is already the new version, with the Air integration
David O Mares offers a screen protector for the Mares Icon HD dive computer (Code:415174). Is there anyway LeisurePro can offer this product in order to keep the Icon HD from getting all scratched up? Thank you!
David R We're sorry as we do not carry the screen protector for this computer.
TERRY L Hi...I am just another customer, so I can't answer for LeisurePro.
However, My new Icon HD Net, has a screen protector on it from the manufacturer.
TIM M I have had my Mares Icon HD for almost two years before getting the new air integration one. I did treat it well but with 17 dives on it, it never scratched. The glass on it is extremely tough. I would not worry about the screen protector.
MARK W I worried about scratching my Mares Icon when I was diving the Great Barrier Reef. I did not have the screen protectors with me for the 27 dives that I made during the 7 day dive trip. I got into the habit of putting on the computer as my last piece of equipment before I walked down the ladder to the water. It was the first piece of equipment that I took off post-dive. With this level of use, I did not scratch the face of the Icon. As deep as the face sits on the Icon, you would be more likely to scratch the case.
Shopper Does this computer have programmable nitrox mixes and gas switching? Decompression stop calculation for decompression diving?
LeisurePro S Yes, you can program nitrox/gas mixes and switch between three different mixes. It also can calculate decompression stops.

Whats in the box:Computer, Padded Bag and User Manual Icon HD net ready is the new frontier in gas integrated computers. Whereas until now the dive computer was simply a passive receiver of information, with the new Mares bi-directional technology, Icon HD is ready to communicate actively with the tank module for an unprecedented level of safety and user friendliness. The combination with icon's high definition color display brings tank pressure information to a new level. Detailed numerical information is accompanied by intuitive, at-a-glance color coding. Blue and green means the pressure is above the mid tank warning, red means the pressure is below the reserve, orange and yellow for values inbetween. The thresholds are set by the user for maximum customization. Get the Mares iDiversDiary App for iPhone and iPad at iTunes. Over 300 dive/wreck maps are now avilable to downloadfor FREE from Mares.
