True to the saying you get what you pay for this speargun is a low end model. The first problem is that there is no place to coil up the line like on most spearguns so it just kind of floats around in the water. The line comes with no shock cord. The band is very difficult to pull back because of there not being any butt plate to hold against your leg. There are better made mini spearguns out there, save your money and purchase one of them.

Very difficult to load, i would have to push against something or use y shoulder to pull it back into. Would not recommend the mini but go one size larger.

I bought the D5 Mini spear gun and could not get the band pulled back. Friends of mine that spear fish a lot had trouble pulling the band. I found that the gun was a waste of money. You should buy a longer gun.

Comments about JBL D5 Mini Spear Gun (D-5):

I got lots of fish with this little spear gun. I had this spear gun for several years for now. I started fishing with this gun. I dive among large kelps and rocks. So, smaller the better for me. The tip that comes with the gun will not penetrate a fish all the way and will not hold your fish. Since I got three prong tip(six inch), I got lots of fish including over 20 inch and over 15 pound Cabezon.

its too loud and slow fish move before the spear has a chance to hit. If by some miracle it does hit it doesnt penetrate. I've gone back to my pole spear for small game. it looks cool on my wall Ill give it that
