I have had a few failures with LED torches and i wondered whether you would recommend this torch?

TONY W The mini wide angle is a nice light. I carry it as back up light on most dives. Most places I dive has limited visability so a narrower beam light is my primary(also by intova). No failures so far after 40 dives with this light.

THOMAS S Used it on two vacation dive trips, as a backup and also a primary without any problems. It has two different level beams and a strobe which came in handy getting my partners attention. Uses two CR123 batteries and goes through them pretty quick if using as a primary.
DENNIS M No I would not. It has failed for me also. I actually purchasedc two one for me and one for my son. My son's works ok. The one I have will not switch on or off with the button. It either stays on or I have to take the battery out. I like the size and when it works it is a great light, but not reliable. I plan to look for another light.

SALIM S i have used this torch on one diving trip to Morehead City in June on probably 2-3 dives where it was needed. I found it to be a great torch for the small size and low cost with good light and without any issues on the construction. Although my use has been somewhat limited, I would recommend the torch to others. Cheers.
DANIEL P i only used this light once on a night dive but it worked great very bright easy to use providing good field of vision

SCOTT C works well out of water, but had trouble with it going out at depth and then worked fine on the boat.

ROBYN W I don't wish to be mean, but I believe Christine's comments about the Mini are incorrect... if a person wants to unscrew the bottom of their light to turn it on, I believe they will still do it. The switch on the bottom is easy to find, but it is recessed, so you have to know it is there if you want to turn on the light. The push button on this light is easy to push, but because it is recessed, turning on the light will not be by accident. You have to purposely depress the button with your finger and the light doesn't turn on till the button hits the bottom. It's more likely the divers forgot to turn off their lights after surfacing on a brightly lit dive boatthe dive, which s why they had dead batteries.
ROBYN W The Mini Wide Angle and their sister lights with 4.7W LED are very reliable and bright torches. I have 2 others also... the Intova Compact and the Intova Torch IFL660. No problems with any of them. If you're doing video at night, then yes this makes a great light. Because it's so small, it easily fits inside my vest pocket and makes a great backup light too. Only thing I don't like is the CR123 battery. Got a bunch of them online cheap, but when you're out on a live-aboard, the only batteries being given away (everyone leaves their extras) are AAA, AA, C, and D's. For just swimming around the reef and not doing video, I use two Intovas held together... This mini and the Compact Torch, which is a narrow beam. I can see things up close and wide and also search around with the narrow. Push button on the mini is really nice, because it's easier to turn on/off with gloves on. I found the slide switch on the IFL660 to get a little sticky and hard to turn on with or without gloves after being in salt water a few times (lubed it up with silicone spray seems to help). Push button is better and easier to find in the dark.
DONALD H S I've had the light for more than a year. I've dived with it a dozen or so times. I'm happy with the light. I've had no problems, it has brightness/illumination properties approaching those of much larger lights AND it hanges unobtrusively from my BC.
I'd recommend without reservation.
TIM A I have been very pleased with this light. It's a well-built, bright flood, has a solid switch and works great. I'm going to buy the spot version of this as well because, sometimes during the sunniest days, it would be nice to have a slightly more compact beam for looking into crevices. Overall it's a great light.
CHRISTINE H I bought 8 (for a group) trip. One never worked, straight out of the package. Two others flooded within a month. The users were divers with tons of experience keeping o-rings clean, and take better care of equipment than the average user- but they are also used to lights that screw down to turn on, so this may have been part of the problem. So that leaves us with 5 of 8 still in use. Not a good batting average.
But the ones that do work I LOVE- with the following caveats. Put a cap over the end to make it fairly hard to push the button to turn it on. They turn on way too easily (during cleanup, in the dive boat, while putting them into a bag) and we often found our batteries dead. Also put a band of electrical tape over the end to prevent accidental unscrewing. Otherwise they are sturdy, bright, lightweight, and long-lasting. Even with these problems I'd buy another.
JAMES L One of my favorite led lights. I've got 2 of them on an intova camera tray for my gopro camera and they work very well. They are bright and have a wide angle. I haven't had any problems with mine what so ever in well over 20 dives so far.
ALLEN L This a good torch and it has never failed. I find the non wide angle is better for night diving but it is great for places where you just need light. I really enjoy intova products.
TODD C This torch is totally solid. I own two and i use it around the house as well.
