Great Light! Uses 3 C batteries and easily last just about any dive trip. Out performs my other dive buddys light's that cost 2 or 3 times as much. The inline mag light design is natural to hold when spearfishing.

This is one beautiful durable light. The all aluminum body is very strong, without a single hint of plastic. The magnetic switch at the base of the light is solid and seemingly leak proof. The beam is very, very bright; much brighter with only 3 "C" batteries than lights I have used that take 4 "Cs". The light is great for diving, or walking your dog at night. The strobe function is great for attracting your buddy, or alerting cars passing buy. It definitely is a great light. Do yourself a favor and buy a retractable lanyard so you don't accidently leave this on the bottom of the ocean like I did my last light!(although I'm so happy with this light I'm kinda glad I lost the other one!)

The beam is very, very bright, and with only 3 "C" batteries, brighter than most 4 "C" battery flashlights I have used. You'll be proud to use this light underwater, or while walking the dog at night. The strobe function is great for drawing the attention of your buddy, or alerting cars on the road of your presence. Do yourself a favor and also buy a retractable lanyard so you don't accidently leave this on the bottom of the ocean, like I did with my last light. (although now that I bought this, I'm glad I lost my older light!)

I haven't had a chance to dive with this light yet. I got it because my Big Blue CF 250 is a bit weak for a primary, and my UK 4C is a bit bulky and awkward. Securing the UK when it's not in use is especially a challenge.
The SL1 has a better beam than the UK, the switch is easy to operate, and I love the strobe option.
Since it's a relatively slim cylinder, I plan to secure it to my BCD with a couple of elastic cords, so it's out of the way when I'm not holding it.

I can only confirm what other buyers have already stated.
This is a quality product that once you have added the 3 batteries becomes relatively heavy. This is NOT a problem for us SCUBA divers, but for the average person walking the dog this may just be a bit too heavy.
(Unless you want to use it as a weapon, which it can be quite effectively!!)
The strength of the light beam is incredible. This is the STRONGEST flashlight in this class that I own or have ever seen, and I own approximately 6 SCUBA and tactical flashlights. The 3 way, magnetic switch at the rear is perfect for SCUBA and I love the strobe feature for getting people's attention.
