moonrock w Is this lamp brighter then the LED version that is rated at 500 lumens ? Why doesn't thof the halogen version state lumens ? What would you estimate the lumens of the halogen version is ?
PETER F Sorry, Can't answer that question. However, I do wish it put out more light.
FYI, I had a problem with the halogen C-Light and tried to convert to the LED. I was told the two housings were manufactured differently. I ended up buying another one.
THOMAS K Although I can't answer your question in regard to lumens, on a side-by-side test with other LED lights against the wall of my living room, the C-Lite8 holds it's own. The only qualm I have with it is the difficulty I encounter switching it on and off at night with 7mil gloves while freediving. The switch is best suited for SCUBA. Other than that, it is well-constructed, easy to load, and versatile. It is fast becoming my light of choice. Also, keep in mind Ikelite backs their products with a reliable service department.

moonrock w it looks like the light to get is the UK Cannon eLED one that goes to 850 lums or 500 for a buck and a half...if your going to go diving at night I guess it's more wise to be all you can be....
STEVEN M The light I use is the Tovatec by Intova IFL660 220 Lumens Torch for my night dives. It's plenty bright and uses only 2 cr123 batteries with 8 hours burn time. The c-8 uses 8 c-cells! and I don't think it's as bright. I use an Ikelite PCm for backup.
