Shopper Would you recommend this as a video HD light with a GoPro Hero 3?
LARRY M Sorry, I don't know what a Go Prp Hero 3 is, but my wife and I each have one of these lights that work extremely well for sport diving. They are handy size. We use them for night dives and longer swim-throughs and as a "pointer". Don't know if this helps.
R J While these are really nice small dive lights, I would not recommend using them as a video light. They don't really have enough power or a wide enough beam for that use.
JOSEPH H Highly. Make sure you remove the batteries when you put it away for any length of time, keep the salt off it, and periodically wipe the o-rings with a bit of silicone grease, as you would for any other such gear. We love ours.
WILLIS R C I am not sure that I can answer that question, but I'll try. The light output is very bright, but I don't think it is bright enough for video; some people are using led lights with up to 1000 to 1200 lumens for video. The PC Lite is not as bright as those lights. You might check with Fred Dion of Backscatter . He is an expert on underwater video systems and makes a special uw housing for the GoPro. Otherwise, the Ikelite PC LED is an excellent underwater flashlight that is very bright, easily fits in a bc pocket and can function as a primary light. I have had no problems with mine.
BLAIR W Yup, great light. Easy to carry and the switch is positive in both on and off positions.
NIGEL L In a pinch and perhaps as a secondary light but the PC Lite doesn't have enough output for a primary light. Its colour temperature is reasonably good for white balance but the output isn't adequate for more than a couple of meters distance to the subject and that distance diminishes at depths of more than 10m.
JAMES F It was a great little light with good battery life.
CLAUDE L No. It's not power enough and it doesn't have a wide enough angle. It only has one single LED. You need something like a Light and Motion Sola. That costs a lot more. Dive lights, because of the limited viewing/spread angles do not make good video lights.
