So far (after ~4 hours of use) this product works fairly well. From the first swim, I've experienced intermittent issues with both headphones, but for the most part, they work well. My preference is for the waterproofed iPod shuffle, but I'm currently deployed to the Middle East, and iPod cannot be shipped to FPO boxes. While it's not perfect, it gets the job done and makes those long swims a little more enjoyable.

I have owned several H2O devices for listening to music during lap swimming. I continue to be an avid fan, even though their products consistently exhibit flaws. When it works well, audio quality is great. This case leaked on the second use, destroying an ipod shuffle not covered by warranty. The problem was that the ipod did not sit properly in the case, which I only discovered later after the damage. Typically after 6-9 months, a headphone quits working. H2O Audio customer service has been responsive on warranty claims, but I think they need to focus on design and durability.

I've had 3 swimp3s in the span of 6 yrs until the last ones battery died. I have not been succesful in getting Finis to replace it so I decided to try the H2O shuffle 4th gen., I do not regret switching to this, and I want my workout longer so I can hear my music!!
As long as you have the ear phones really jammed up your ear canal, you're good to go your entire workout. It works on all 4 strokes but my favorite is when I do backstroke.
