Questions about this item:
Shopper Does the Genesis \"GS2000\" Regulator GR450 have a swivel on the second stage??
KEVIN H That reg was a starter reg for my daughter awhile back. I have been diving for awhile now and Ivan say its an ok starter reg but if you have the money I would suggest spending a little more for a better reg such as the scuba pro s600 with a first stage mk25. It is a great reg that is rated for cold water to tropical waters. My diving has changed over the years from open water all the way to tec and that reg has meet every need. You was to test both under water near the end of the dive on the low end of the dive the gs2000 takes more effort to breathe where s600 is easy to breathe the first to the last unchanged. Safe diving
DAVID L Yes it does. I have been very happy with it for the price.
NATHAN B The 2nd stage of my GS2000 (mouthpiece) swivels around the air hose. The 1st stage (connects to the tank) does not swivel.
STEPHEN J D Yes - easily swivels 360 degrees (though stiff enough that unintentional twisting does not occur).
Dave T I'm hoping to travel. How heavy is this reg?
MARYELLEN C I think this is a very simple regulator, it breathes easy and wroks very well..... but for a few dollars more you can get a better regulator. I'd go up one grade of Genesis, or look at a Scubapro. This one just feels a little bulky in the mouth when diving.
WADE P the mouth piece is compact, its not the super light weight style ,but it is an easy breather and no matter how aggressive I am underwater , I cant out breathe it. Deepest I have had it to is 140fsw on the Cocos Island trip.
JOSHUA H I wouldn't say it heavy. I bought this one for both me and my wife and she is not one to enjoy carrying around a bunch of heavy gear.
STEPHEN J D With octo and 3-guage console, weighs about 3.5 - 4 lbs. Great regulator - on my 2nd year and over 75 dives!
c t nitrox? I have had this reg for almost 2 years and have used on many nitrox dives, now I read it's not nitrox compatable? so what isses are there using it for nitrox
Brett H The mfg states that this reg is not nitrox compatible out of the box. It is generally thought that most regs are completely fine for nitrox less than 40%, but that's not to say that care should not be taken. Your typical nitrox service includes cleaning the reg, and then using O2 compatible lube and o-rings in your rebuild to assure that there are not any issues.
manolis p Is this Reg. 100% enviromen Sealed Piston ?
JEFFREY A Sorry, I do not know the answer to your question. However, I love my reg. I dive a couple times a year and I have used it in the Caribbean, Fl gulf coast, and Fl Springs. I can't answer your question, but can tell you that I am very pleased with the performance of this Reg.
Regina C I am not that technical so I don't know the answer to your question. Perhaps you should ask a service technician from Leisure Pro. I do like this reg though and so far have not have any issues with it.
Kipp K Is this regulator good for cold water diving? I see it listed as so in some of the reviews but not in the features for the unit.
WILLIAM L I own two of these regulators, I am happy with them and the service that I have had with Genesis concerning their computers was very positive and that goes a long way with me. The regulators have easy breathing and when you turn the flow adjustment knob the diver will notice the diffrence. I detect water now and then but nothing that is unacceptable. I have done a couple of hundred foot dives in the Bahamas and felt the air flowing as I needed it. As I said I have two and niether have had to go in for repair service. I have done over three hundred and fifty dives with them I would recommend the regulator.
MARYELLEN C I forgot to mention that the only reason I rated this as a starter regulator is because it is slightly large, and just a tad heavy
MARYELLEN C This is a good starter regulator and works well in cold water. I like this regulator.
MICHAEL D I have not used it for cold water diving, the coldest I have used it in was maybe 70F. I can tell you it has been an excellent regulator for warmer water diving, I am very pleased with it.
ERIC G Sorry Kipp, don't know about cold water on this. We've used it regularly and it's performed fine but always in warm water.
Rick G
MILA R I looked back in my logs and my coldest dieves were 49*F and 45*F and it worked fine. after almost 5 years diving with the reg the only conplaint was the mouth piece was no good for me ( I finaly got one of those you form for your mouth that was like 100% better) and I noticed only when I;m inverted does it breath a bit wet, nothing major. If you dont invert no problem. all and all I would recomend it. if you do get it make sure to unscrew the metal ring on the front and clean the salt water off everytime!
Shopper I already have the d.a.d. is the reg sold separetly .
LeisurePro S Sorry, we don't sell any first or second stages separately.
Shopper Does this regulator come with hoses?
LeisurePro S Yes, hose connecting the first and second stages is included.
Shopper I have this reg. is it nitrox ready? Some review say yes, but it does not say in the manual.
LeisurePro S Based on the manual the answer is no.
Shopper I recently purchased the Genesis GS 2000 regulator. There is a hole in the interior side of one of the low pressure ports. I wanted to know whether this is normal or a defect?
LeisurePro S This extra hole in the port is standard and nothing to worry about
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
JOSHUA H Liked the reviews.
MIKE L Hard to find an adjustable in this price range - this is it.
BRIAN D I love it, easy to adjust and works every time. Perfect.
DAVID L Another member of our dive team uses this regulator all over the world when he dives, so he puts his trust in it, then I thought it would be ok for myself.
RONALD F Great reg for the price - Have been diving with mine for years and works GREAT!
Adel A How often do I have to service this reg? I mean overhaul.
MIKE L I take mine in to the local dive shop once a year for a checkup - about $40. It hasn't needed any more than that as yet.
Marilyn S Yearly servicing is recommended (more frequently if used very often).

Whats in the box:1st Stage 2nd Stage and L P Hose Innovation at its best is the way to explain the function of the Genesis GS2000 Regulator. The first stage regulator incorporates Genesis Dry Air Demand (DAD). This simple yet unique design has a flow-by piston that mechanically balance the air of the first stage ensuring excellent breathing characteristics at full or low cylinder pressures. The DAD's function allows the regulator is increase the intermediate pressure of the regulator without messy oils or grease as with more sophisticated designs. This added benefit makes the regulator virtually uncontaminated from the environment of salt, sand or chlorine internally, which makes it the choice of most repair technicians. Built from marine grade chrome plated brass for long life with two HP Ports and four LP Ports for addition of gauges and LP accessories, this is one work horse first stage regulator. The Balance 2nd Stage delivers air effortlessly; its Pre-dive/dive switch eliminates sensitivity when swimming through surf, jumping off the side of the boat, or fining in a current, yet allows high performance breathing when needed.Durability is assured with a non-corrosive ABS/Polycarbonate Housing and a corrosion resistant (302) passivated (302) stainless steel demand valve lever. Breathing resistance is factory set for optimal resistance and the orthodontic mouthpiece allows hours of comfortable breathing without jaw fatigue.
