Comments about Fantasea 5201 RedEye Filter G10/G11:

The photo shown on the website is VERY misleading - this thing is a huge piece of equipment with 4 bungee-type cords with clasps coming off each corner of the unit, and the actual filter sits inside of it!! They really need to more accurately describe it and change the photo so the consumer knows what they are getting. I sent mine back immediately after calling them....

Comments about Fantasea 5201 RedEye Filter G10/G11:

This is the worst design I've ever seen! It is a large plastic plate with a separate red insert secured to the housing by bungee straps.

I had the "old style" of this filter until I lost it in Belize last month. It slipped over the end of the housing and was awesome! Why was this filter redesigned??? It worked perfectly & now it sucks!!!

Comments about Fantasea 5201 RedEye Filter G10/G11:

I'm sorry to say I invested in this filter. Disappointed that I was unable to find reviews online, I feel obligated to warn other divers of how genuinely useless this product proved itself underwater.I used this with the Canon G12 and the simple truth is that the adjustable white balance in manual mode or the automatic colour corrections while in automatic (Underwater Scene Mode) are already compensating and doing this job for you. Adding a fixed amount of additional red colour is an impractical and artificial looking solution to a camera of this quality, and I highly recommend investing your [...] somewhere else. The only pro that comes to mind is that it's easy to remove during the dive, which means it was also easy to compare with & without pictures afterwards under identical conditions, which is how I came to my conclusions.
