How well did this work?
CHARLENE C It worked really well I did not get 2 use it right away. The demintions r a little off the opening is sliightly smaller so my old lap top did not fit in it.But I have used it my new lap top is the same size just a little more compact. Its durable easy two useand where I went the padded added protetion was great put I did not have a worry It will stay dry That I can asure u of That tested positive.
FARO K We got this bag for a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, figuring we'd be on the beach and boats while snorkeling and body-boarding. We used it every day to store items like a point-and-shoot camera and a small lunch or snack, or a book or magazine and a a few dry articles of clothing. Sometimes it just held a couple bottles of water and 2 beach towels! Stuff like sunscreen and sunglasses went into the outer mesh pouch.
The top opening seals well and it is easy enough to get open and closed without a fuss. The limitation is the size of the opening and of course it is soft-sided, so it does not offer much in the way of protection for electronics. It is marked as "padded" and it is, to some degree, but not enough to really be considered "screen protection," per se.
It got wet (splashed) a few times (and dunked once) and the stuff inside stayed totally dry.. you can't ask for more than that! There are other "roll-down top" style bags out there for roughly the same price now.. they were more expensive at the time. But, I think this one is likely quicker to get open and closed with the flip latches, vs. rolling and buckling each time.
It came with a black nylon adjustable shoulder strap that clipped onto the two tabs at the top, making it easy to shoulder and carry.
I would recommend this bag to a friend if they couldn't find a reasonably priced roll-top waterproof bag that suited their needs. At 12" x 16" x 4", this bag will hold up to a 17" laptop in a neoprene sleeve with the cords and cables as well as a paperback and a couple, magazines .. with a little room to spare!
JOHN M It keeps the contents dry. It is padded and, as a result, a bit bulky. Would be great for a camera or other items requiring a bit of cushion. If you don't need that protection, you may be better off with one of the other options.
