Questions about this item:
Timo K Hey, can the hoses be removed/added by the user or do I have to bring it to a dive shop for that?
Thanks :)
YURI D Yes, they could be mounted by user with basic technical skills. Just be shure they are not loosely tightened or o-rings damaged.
ANDRZEJ B Yes the hoses are easy to remove. To save space, I always travel with all the parts separatet from each other.
MATTHEW G I've removed the hoses several time with no problems. I've changed out my computer, added and even subtracted a dry suit inflator hose. All you need is a wrench
MARK O Yes... i did my connection by myself and that was my first time too... Very easy light and reliable... Highly recommended
George S Yes, it is easy to remove the hoses, and I fool with the layout of my rig frequently. All you need is the right wrench (some are metric, some imperial), but frankly, a good adjustable crescent wrench works as well.
The one thing that I recommend, is to get some of the silicone grease that they recommend for use with NITROX, and use it to lubricate the threads on the fittings, as well as the o-rings that prevent the loss of air. You can get this at any scuba shop. You should use the special grease, for given the flammable nature of petroleum-based greases, it is not a good combination with the high oxygen content of NITROX. Too Flammable!

p.s. You will enjoy this reg. Very light, Breathes well, Nice to look at, as well.
Shopper Hey, just wondering, is this Reg easy breathing? Like as good as the ScubaPro MK25 S600? Just would like to hear your thoughts on the ease of breathing of this reg. And also is it light enough to travel with easily? Thanks :)
SCOTT S I really like my Cressi regulator. It is very easy to breath. I decided to buy after having checked out a number of studies comparing it's quality to others, and it truly stands up to the high reports given about it.
BRETT H Awesom reg! Bought mine a year ago. Dove to 90'you and ease of breathing is same as 30'. Highly recommend. I travel with it as carry on in back pack so yes, it is light. Looks cool too.
WAYNE A I have not used the ScubaPro MK25 S600 so I really can not give an you good feedback on that question. The 2nd stage is lightweight and easy to adjust. I like the reg., but when swimming upside down, which I do sometimes to see into wrecks or other openings, it's not quite as dry as I would like. It leaks a little and is annoying at times.
MARK O i havent tried sp of any type yet... But with this one for me its very easy to breath... the adjustable venturi really helps a lot... and wen it comes to traveling which i do everytime i dive, this is an A+++++ very light and small... Highly recommended
ERIC L I found this reg to be very easy breathing and I know that Scuba Lab provided great reviews concerning the ease of breathing. Additionally, the reg contains a control knob that allows manual adjustments.
I absolutely love this reg and didn't find it heavy at all. We recently went to Cozumel and I had it along with my octo in my carry-on. I personally had no problems with its weight.
NED S I. Love this reg! Breathing is sdjustable but i don't fiddle with it much. I have it set to the right of center so it is more restricted since want to conserve air. That sait I can inhale as much as i like without feeling short of breath. I'm not familiar with the model you mention, but the previous reg i used was an older Ocianic which made a loud moose call noise if i inhaled too hard.
As far as travelling goes i travelled with both and never gave weight much thought. It is lighter lower profile so it fits in my reg bag easily. I notice the lower profile the most when diving as it stayes in my mouth and less likely to get bumped.
Christian K Just to make sure, this is Nitrox ready up to 40 % ?
ANDRZEJ B Christian,
Unfortunately I was not able to test this regulator with Nitrox so I not able to tell you if it actually work. I used my MC9-SC only one while diving during my last vacation in Dominica, due to the fact that there was only two more divers (not the most experienced) and the end of the tourism season on Dominica most of the equipment was not available or stored for hurricane season. The MC9-SC performed as promised, relatively easy bereaving, light weight. I would recommend you to buy a softer connecting house vs. what was included in the package.

George S Christian K. -
I have personally dived with this regulator at 32% with no issues whatsoever. And the manufacturer states that it is good to 40%. My guess is that they are correct, but I have never used it at that high a concentration. GES
p.s. I got a bum fill, and I had to dive at 28.5%, and it worked fine at that level, as well.
YURI D I don't have any idea about this.I dive on air. You better check http://www.cressi.it/
Christian K They do not mention it on Cressi?s webpage, thats why I ask you guys.
Alex L CAn I buy this regulator with DIN connector?
David R Sorry as we only sell this regulator and all Cressi with yoke configuraion not Din.
George S Alex:
I can't answer that question. Probably a better one for the people at Leisure Pro. However, what I can say is that this is one sweet breathing piece of aparatus. Light, very adjustable, effortless, and reliable - all of which inspire confidence. I live in the Philippines, and I frequently fly on small planes to get to dive resorts. However, whatever the baggage limit, I make sure to take this regulator, even if I have to leave the rest of my equipment behind. I rely on this baby, and she always delivers!

SAM W It's a good price/performance ration regulator. I like it.
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
YURI D High quality regulator.Strong, reliable with high performance on average price.

Whats in the box:First and Second Stage Regulators and Low Pressure Hose, FREE Cressi Regulator Bag (limited Time offer) Pairing the balanced adjustable Ellipse 2nd stage regulator, with the hyper-balanced diaphragm 1st stage MC9 regulator, place this regulator at the very top of the Cressi range. The engineering and performance of this combination creates a high performance regulator that will compete with the best of them. The Ellipse Balanced 2nd stage has incorporated many of the characteristics of Ellipse. The Ellipse Balanced has a slightly larger housing which is made from a sound-absorbing material, and a new diaphragm that further improves the already very low inhalation effort of Ellipse. The pneumatic balanced piston allows for constant performance at any depth and with any cylinder pressure in the Scuba tank. Inhalation Effort can be adjusted with an easy grip knob. The knob is designed to work even when wearing gloves and allows the diver to fine tune the breathing resistance to meet the needs of the dive environment. To further give the diver a custom breathing mechanism the regulator is equipped with a venturi switch, when placed in position (-) it functions as pre-dive mode, and helps prevent the regulator from free-flowing at the surface, when moved to (+) it allows the regulator its maximum performance. The design of the 2nd stage is environmentally sealed allowing the regulator to function properly between annual services at a constant high performance. An internal heat exchanger optimizes the performance of the regulator even in cold waters. Through an engineering study of the internal air flows of the housing Cressi engineers have created an absolute natural, smooth and very silent breathing capability. The standard exhaust cover can be replaced by the diver for a larger model that pushes the bubbles further away from the diver's face. The Balanced 1st stage MC9 Hyper-balanced Diaphragm Actuated 1st stage has a lightweight body covered by a protective techno-polymer elastomer shell. The regulator is equipped with four low pressure and two high pressure ports. Internally the 1st stage is coated with an anti-friction anti-corrosion material that reduces resistance and allows the critical components to move freely. This makes the components perform and last longer between annual servicing and increases performance. Research on internal air passages and incorporating a special assist chamber has lowered the drop of intermediate pressure upon inhalation and has kept this drop at a minimum, guaranteeing higher performance in any situation. Hyper-balancing allows for an increase of the intermediate pressure at maximum depths and when experiencing low pressure in the Scuba cylinder, offering higher performance at maximum depths and during the ascent phase of the dive. The 1st stage MC9 - SC is identical to model MC9, but with a special Seal Chamber which completely isolates the diaphragm and spring from contact with water. Ideal for diving in waters that are rich in suspension and mineral salts, for archaeological work, for potholing and diving in cold waters.
