Shopper Can you use the 5/4mm in the northeast? From June to Sept? Would a vest/hood be comfortable to wear for June with the suit?
VERNON J If the water temp is in the low 70's I would suggest a hood and a vest.
Steve S I dive in New Jersey and you will want a 7mm full suit all summer through October. The water here never gets above 65 degrees at depth. You will also want a hood and gloves. Nothing worse than cold hands on a dive !
JACQUES G This is a great suit for 65-75F water(e.g Morehead City, North Carolina in Summer and Forida in Winter.
Do you expect the water to be 65-75F where you will be diving?
I personally use a dry suit for anything from 40 to 70F...
RICHARD C I have not dove in the Northeast with this suit. I have used it in the Florida Springs a couple of times and its a great suit for that. I hope that helps.
JONATHAN M It's too cold for me here for a 5/4. I use 7 mm with a 7 mm hooded vest. Although I generally do 90 minute dives, so maybe I could do a short dive with the 5/4.
