Brad E Does this hood contain a purge valve at the top to release trapped air?
R ROBERTO A hi brad,
the hood does include a purge valve. I was skeptical about the performance (or failure) of the purge valve but it has worked perfectly in over 20 dives since I've purchased mine. More importantly for me, the hood is comfortable to put on and off and has enough elasticity for maximum range of motion underwater and not "choke" me if I have to suit up in the parking lot and walk to the dive site which often the case when diving in NorCal.
Bottom line for me is this. It keeps me warm, is comfortable to don and wear and I know it will last many years.
JOSEPH M No it doesn't. Also the stitching pulled apart the first time in use but I never got around to trying to get a refund.
LYDIA K It has three small holes on the top through which the trapped air can escape.
CHARLIE M yes it does. This is an awesome hood. I use it for ice diving
RENE D Yes, It has a vent valve that releases the trapped air quickly. I am happy with the hood. It keeps my head warm even in 50 degree water.
ANDREAS H Not a valve, but a series of holes that will let air out.
JEREMY T Theres a vent sewn in at the top, its not a mechanical valve but it works well.
JAMIE B It is vented to allow air to escape. Best and warmest hood I've ever owned.
DAVID W There are two small holes at the top that do an excellent job at purging air from the hood. The hood is VERY warm.
BRIAN D Yes. There are three holes at the top to alow air to pass.
JEFF J It does not contain a purge valve.
