DANIEL G They stretch pretty well and a good fit is also a plus. Based in my experience I would try a small first.
TIMOTHY S My wife and I normally order M and L in wet suits. We ordered L and XL in this suit and they fit great. However we have not had them in the water yet and Lycra stretches about 1/2". My wife has a normal build and is 5'9" tall and wears the large. depending on your height I might order the medium. Too tight is not right, tight to start with and loosens up a bit is ok.
SUSAN C I am size 2 and smaller than you in several areas! I ordered a size small and it is "gappy" in those areas so I think a small would be perfect for you.

Shopper After reading the many answers about sizing I am unsure whether to order a medium or large. i am female athletic build, 5'11" and 150 lbs longer in legs and dislike having something too short. A medium or large?

ERIC G This suit's sizing ran small when I purchased in 2011. I'm 6'3", 195 lbs, and I needed a XXL. Strange but true. The suit fits well over my shoulders and isn't too baggy around my torso.
JOE G I am 6'2", weigh 180, and got the 2X large. It is just right in height, but is definitely loose around the waist and chest. I think you should get a large.

MARK M You will definetly need a large. I teach scuba and buy a lot of these skins for my students. They will knit when your BCD touches it so be careful.
Also the decal will come off within the first couple of dives but that will not affect the wear. My students usually get around 100 dives before it stetches
out to much. If you hand wash it in woolite you can get the max. usage
from it.
WEBSTER M I would suggest a large. I am 160 lb. male and I got an XL. It is longer than I needed in the legs but for the price and funtionality it works for me.
DENNIS W The skins fit tight, my wife is normally a medium and she needed a large. She is about your same dimensions. I think you would like the large.
JIM W I would go with the large. I have owned several of these and have all ways worn an xxl. (I am 6'4") this time the xxl was too short and even the xxxL is too short and I can not wear it.
RICHARD F I had to go a size larger in mine. I guess you can always return it. Leisure Pro seems to be very good about that.
Lais L I just bought this suit ( Neo Sport by Henderson Lycra Skin Suit) ?based on the size chart, so I bought XS but unfortunately it was way too small. Can anyone recommend if S or M?

KENNETH G You are about the same size as my wife, and she wears my medium (because the XS I got for her and the M I got for me were way too small). It fits her okay - the small would probably be too small.

I purchased an XS for my daughter which was way to small and then ordered a M for her. However, it did not fit well either. These suits are not cut properly for women. They are made for stick people.

Shopper I understand that the suit provides little or no insulation. However I am looking for something to provide a little extra warmth while riding a jet ski in the northeast in the fall. So when the air temps are in the 50s and 60s, how well would this suit reduce wind chill while riding?
KEVIN Z This might not help. Pretty much just a rash guard and makes getting into a neo wet suit much easier.
DEAN R If you insist on riding a jet ski in the fall, there is not much that will help you. The Lycra suit will help if you use it under a 3mm wet suit.
BRYAN N I routinely dive in air temps in that range. I can tell you that you will freeze in this suit. You need a 5mm. This suit is really only useful when you want skin protection in water where you would normally skin dive. This suit provides really no thermal barrier.
ROBERT W This wouldn't help you when riding a jet ski in fact since it would hold some water and take longer to dry than bare skin it would create a wind chill factor until dry.
JAMES H Having never used this suit in the mannor, I would not know. My best guess from wearing the suit in warm water and under a wet suit would be that this would not cut down on any wind chill as the wind in my opinion would pass through it. I would recommend possibly a 1ML wetsuit as this may be more in line with what you may be looking to acheive. But again, I have not tried anything like what you are suggesting so it would be an out and out guess on my part.

JOSEPH P This skin is not what your looking for. I use this skin as to compliment my wet suit, either 3 or 5 mil, when scuba diving. Helps donning and doffing the suit as well as movement.
For your use I would suggest a nice XSpan 3 mil shorty. You will stay warm and comfortable and nice protection when paired with your PFD. Even under my 3 mil
shorty I wear a short sleeve rash guard.

DEAN R This product was purchased for my wife who is 5'2" and 115#. She loves it. I would suggest purchasing the largest size available. My experience is that Leisure Pro is very accommodating
MICHAEL M I am 6'2" and 215 lbs. I bought a XXL and it is too big. I then bought an XL and it fitl loosely and is plenty long. I think at 6'7" the XXL would be plenty long, but it will be loose fitting.
THOMAS M I am a big fan of wearing a Lycra suits under my wetsuit as it makes the wetsuit go on and off so much easier. The Neo suit I purchased has held up very well. Regarding the size and fit...Leisure Pro has been excellent about exchanging wetsuits that did not fit but you need to weigh the potential cost of return shipping into your risk calculation.

RICHARD J Have you tried pulling a used plastic grocery sack over your hand or foot while pulling the suit on? The whispy plastic sack allows your hand/foot to slip right in. Remember to remove the sack when you get the suit on.
You can purchase them for a minimal cost at the grocery store / they're even free if you buy something to put in them!
Oh, and dispose of the sack properly - don't just let them blow away.
DAVID B It is a skin, so very easy to put on or take off wet/dry. I love mine. It also helps get another wet suit on/off easier. Though I have never done that, others have told me it helps.
DAVID V First of all this suit was for my ex girlfriend. So I cant speak to this specific suit. However I have worn lycra suits for many years. I can vaguely remember that it made sliding a wet suit on a little easier. But I now dive exclusively in Cozumel and the lycra is enough for me by itself. I have read that lycra has no insulation factor, but I beg to differ. In any event, you still have to get your hands and feet pushed thru whether it is lycra or a wet suit.
Now - here is a fairly well kept secret that I can tell you and wont have to kill you. Carry one or two plastic bags from wal-mart or the grocery store in your dive bag. Just stick the bag over one foot and slide it right thru the leg, then pull it off your foot. You only need one but if someone on the diveboat sees you do this, you can lend them the other bag.
The divemasters in Cozumel call it a "Mexican sock" but a lot of people dont know about it and dont pay attention as the divemasters suit up.

RONI K No - skin suit will not make it easy to don a wet suit.
JOHN M this will make it much easier to put on a wet suit .. but that might wear the skin out quicker . but the low price for this skin you could but two ..
RICHARD F The only real answer is proper fit. ... With that said, hyper streach suits still go on and off with the least effort. The trade off is: you will not have as good as insulation or life with the hyper streach. I have a 7mm hyper, it lasted about 3 years of heavy use (I am an instructor). My next 7mm will also be a hyper streach as well. For real warmth in cold water, I use my semi-dry, it does not crush with depth or will it lose it's warmth over only 3 years. Because it fits well, it is not that much more difficult to don. ... I hope this helps.
JIM W yes, this skin will help with putting a wetsuit on. However, buy a size up. The last one I bought was small compared to the size chart.

I bought the skin for some extra protection for night diving without a wetsuit.
MIKE G Yes - the lycra does make it easier to get a wetsuit on. I have also used those thin plastic bags from the grocery store over my feet to get my feet thru the legs without getting hung up. the lycra will also give you a small amount of insulation too.

ANN H This is exactly the thing. I don't go without one, and in fact have three so I always have a dry one to put on the next time I change.

DEBBIE C I actually bought it just to wear in the Caribbean alone and haven't tried it with my wetsuit. It's really comfortable and light and I suspect it would make it easy to put on a wetsuit.

Me: 6' 4" 225 lb 38 inch waist 44 inch chest XXL fits just right
Wife: 5' 6" 130 ld small fits just right.
Normally I would wear an XL in most anything but had to go one size larger in this case.

ADAM P I've been skipping it. My buddy wears a boxer-brief style bathing suit under his wetsuit and it is the same material and overall thickness. I'm sure that you can wear a suit under it, but I'd rather cut back on any potential bunching.

BURTON O I don't and most of my friends don't but some people do. It's a snug fit, so board shorts wouldn't be a good idea. Lycra shorts work fine.

THOMAS S You should always get one or two sizes larger than you would normally think you should get. I'm 6'5" 255lb, and I get a 3X. Remember it's Lycra, and it's used to protect you from stings, and scrapes.

NANCY R R I do not know (or remember) the stated Level of UV protection, but I do know that I have never burned or tanned any part of my body that was covered with the skin. I peel my wet suit between dives and usually just wear the skin on the boat. Perfect!
I love this skin and actually have two. It makes putting on your wet suit soooo much easier. It fits like a glove and is extremely comfortable to wear. I am 5'7" and weigh 120# but I bought a medium because of my leg and arm length.
I highly recommend this product.

MICHAEL N I'm 5 10 and 180. The large fits snug, but is maybe a touch long. My son is 5 10 and 170 and wears the medium. It's snug, but the length is perfect. At 6ft, I'd order the large.
GLENN H If you are 6 ft and 180 lbs, you are going to need something like an XXL.
I am 6 ft and 130 lbs and a Large is stretched-to-the-max skin tight.
I originally ordered a medium and I couldn't fit into it, whereas with other manufactures skin suits, a medium is even a little loose on me.
ROBERT D I am 5'8'' and 190, and the Large is a good fit for me. If I were taller, I would go for the next size up. For you, at 6'0'' 180, I expect you will want XL so that you're not "squeezed" vertically, and it should still be snug enough that it's not baggy on you, but that's just my guess. They are pretty stretchy, so you might be able to make a Large work, but it may not be comfy for you. Hope that helps.

B B I am 5'3" and 135lbs with a very athletic physique. I just tried on the S which was way too tight for me. Wrist, Ankles, thighs, chest and neck were constricted. I felt like my body was stretching the material beyond its limits and that it may have torn with physical activity. I did not try it wet. Exchanging for the medium.

DAVID V My girlfriend actually bought this in a combined order with me. I dont remember the size and she is no longer around. However, I am guessing it was a medium. She was about 5'6 - 130 lbs. I can tell you that these things strech amazingly. I wore the same lycra suit last year at 220 lbs that I bought 15 years ago when I was 175 lbs.

This mssg is especially for women,since the sizing may be a little bit tricky for us,girls. Soooo... Just got my "skin" today. It was my second one I ordered. The first one which I ordered in Small was waaayyy too small (and am in process of returning it). The Medium is just perrfect. Here is some info abt me. I am liitle bit over 5'4" (164cm) 127Lb and curvy OR as you Americans say: an hour glass shape,lol. I even asked David from LeisurePro what size to go with,I was sure small should be OK and so thought he,but nope. Especially if you have athletic legs,forget abt it! You won't be even able to pull it all the way to your butt. So if you are not sure abt the size,the bigger would probably be better. The "skin" is elastic but just to certain extend where it just doesn't stretch at all.
Thankfully Leisure Pro sent me the larger one I ordered right away at no charge. As always,their customer care is the best ;)
And so I am so happy with this purchase,cuz I won't be needing another 7 people around me just to help me with my semi dry on. It still took us for EVER,lol... With the "skin" I had my suit on in less than a minute. I promise :) Probably the best purchase EVEEERRRR ;) :)

I picked it both for size, color and price. I used it for diving as a layer and for snorkeling for sun protection. In fact, I wore it out and bought another one.
DAVID H I'd dealt with Henderson products before, so I was confident the quality would be good. That, plus, I believe LeisurePro had them on sale just when I was looking for a replacement for my poor tired, shredded "skinny" from 1997. It was pretty much a no-brainer to me: grab it!
HEATHER G I picked this for several reasons. 1.) The price was excellent. 2.) The fit was pretty good. 3.) I'm 5'9" and weigh about 130 lbs. The difficulty that I have is most items are too short on my legs and arms. If I go to a larger size, it is too baggy and loose in the chest, abdomen, and hip areas. 4.) I'm sensitive to whatever they use to make wetsuits and this provided an extra layer between my skin and the wetsuit.

HAROLD M they stretch in all directions---the XL may have too much material for your height---you might consider the L---you can buy both and return one---I do that when not sure.

RON G The skin has no extra warmth value, I use it to protect me from the sun when snorkeling, and when diving your wetsuit will go on alot easyer. I would order the same size as your wetsuit.

I'm running a 24hr event(Tough Mudder Championships) next month and i need something to dry out quickly and keep me somewhat warm while not restricting my movement over time. Thanks for any advice
CHARLES Q Very easy to run in I would imagine. It does dry quickly. The stirrups help quite a bit. I'm 6-5, 280 lbs and bought a 3XL, fit's just perfect, no complaints there. Keep in mind this is only 0.5mm thick, so not a lot of warmth is provided if you're not moving. Not sure how must rest is involved with the Tough Mudder, can't imagine a whole lot. My nephew is also running it, good luck to both of you.
CURTIS O I've never used the suit to run in and I can't offer any insight into what size would fit you. I am not sure how much warmth it will offer either since it is a very thin material. I don't think it dries out particularly quickly but that would depend on the conditions.
DEAN R My wife uses the Lycra suit as an undergarment for her wetsuit. She reports that it is very comfortable and dries quickly. The suit might offer
slight protection in a light breeze but is not designed for thermal protection. When wet it is much colder! My wife is very small so I cannot comment on te size in this case but I have found that Leisure Pro's
return or exchange policies are excellent.

Pam H I want to purchase a wetsuit so I can swim in my pool all year. I swim for exercise. I live in San Antonio, so it doesn't get too cold in the winter -- maybe 40 degrees. Would this Neo Sport suit do the trick? If not, what would you recommend?
WILLIAM H For swimming in winter, this suit will not be sufficient for your area. Assuming a water temp of even 55 degrees, hypothermia becomes a real concern after 30-45 minutes. A much better choice would be a 5 to 7 mm wetsuit with hood, boots, etc. or even better, a dry suit. Having said all that, I bought this dive skin for my wife to use in Grand Cayman in December. My wife is a tiny, skinny (oops, I meant petite) little thing. On her first dives in the Caymans in December, wearing a 3mm shorty wetsuit and the Henderson skin underneath, she came up cyanotic (lips were blue) very confused and classicly hypothermic. She did much better with a full 5mm wetsuit over the dive skin, but still required careful observation to avoid prolonged exposure. So the bottom line is realistic assesment of your own body type and amount of natural insulation (i.e., fat) that you carry. Then measure the water temperature-anything under 60 degrees is darned cold to this confirmed southerner! See if you can rent a wetsuit from a local dive shop to determine how well it works. When you have found what you like, Leisure Pro has the absolute best prices and selection of any site on the web, and excellent service after the sale. My only regret is that I lost every bit of my and my wife's dive gear in a house fire in 2010, so it will be awhile before we can reaccumulate enough to get in the water. When we buy, it will all come from Leisure Pro, I can assure you! I hope this helps you choose!
RONALD F The Lycra Skin Suit, like any other lycra product, provides absolutely NO thermal protection. I use it for environmental protection (from coral, jellyfish, etc underwater and from sun when snorkeling) and to make donning my real wetsuit easier. If you are looking for thermal protection, you have to use neoprene, as it is the trapped air in the neoprene bubbles that insulates your body. The thinner the neoprene, the more flexible it will be, but the less insulation it will provide. You'll have to strike a balance between movement and warmth, but I suspect a 2-3 mm wetsuit would work.
Remember that most of your body heat is lost from your head, so a neoprene beanie or hood would go a long way to providing extra warmth while swimming or diving.

JEFFREY W This suit is only good for water temps to around 70 degrees. I wear it for protection when diving in warm water. Not a wetsuit.
LINDA M Pam, I use mine for scuba diving in tropical waters (usually no cooler than about 76F.) I am overweight, so I generate quite a bit of heat while exercising, but I have always been quite comfortable. The skin is like a very stretchy, heavyweight pair of tights. Although it would be comfortable for swimming, I'm afraid it might not be quite warm enough at 40F, unless you generate a LOT of heat while swimming! On the plus side, it shows very little signs of wear, even after 50 or more dives! I absolutely love it! Linda
LEONARD P The lycra skin provides hardly any warmth. I bought mine to put under my 7mm wetsuit to make it easier to get on and off. If the air temp is 40 degrees and the pool isnt heated, you would need at least a 6mm suit to stay warm, but that is with 40 degree water. Figure it this way with the water temp: 75 degrees and up= lycra 68 to 74 degrees = 3mm wetsuit below 68 degree water temp = 6 mm wetsuit or better. By the way I dive the cold water of the northeast so I speak from experience.

STERLING L I don't know the numbers, but it's about the weight of two T-shirts.
DAVID H If you mean "weight" as in "how much does it weigh", I really don't know. It's very light, no more than a pound or two. It certainly has no discernable effect on buoyancy.
If you mean "weight" as in "how much insulation does it provide", the answer is absolutely none whatsoever.
Think of them sort of like pantyhose that fit over the entire body and you'll get a pretty good idea of all their physical characteristics. Hope it helped.

ROBERT I It's just like it says, lycra. No other insulation to it. It's just a stretchy body suit similar to what you'd expect from a pair of lycra tights. Gives you some protection from the sun and incidental contact beyond bare skin, but really has no significant insulating properties.

DEAN R Actually my wife uses this suit under her wet suit. The skin makes donning the wet suit much easier. The skin is not thick and could be used as light exposure protection. My wife is very satisfied. LeisurePro has been very good at exchanges or returns.

MAUREEN H It is basically like a bathing suit, but to me feels softer. It may actually be thinner than the bathing suits I have. I really only use it for sun protection. It isn't meant to keep you warm in colder water. I use it in tropical, 80+ degree water. It is very comfortable, and I like the front zipper.

ERIC S You definitely need to order a size up. They are a little small, not much, but a larger size than you normally way is definitely recommended. I got what I normally wear, and wish I had ordered a size up. It fits, just a little more snug that I normally like.

CHARLOTTE D The S would probably fit better. The suit is tight in the chest area because it is unisex fit. I used it in July in Florida and it seem to protect against sea lice (which is common near jelly fish)
JOHN P I found the sizing to run small on this item. I went with two sizes larger than My t-shirt size.
I wear a XL t-shirt and had to go up to a 3X skin to get the desired fit. I'm 6' 2" and 230 #"s.
This skin will only protect from minor abrasions and will provide SPF 50
from the sun.

ROGER T it's no mm thick, it's just a skin that you wear under your wet suit. Adds a bit of warmth and comfort, esp. when putting on a wet, wet suit.
DAN C It's less than 1MM.
I use my skin under my wetsuit.
It makes it much easier to get in and out of.
JOHN D It's about .05mm think about the same as a rash guard that covers the whole body, Works great when diving arm waters were you dont want to wear a 3mm or higher. Helps protect you from any jellyfish stings.

Its not a wet suit. Its very thin, similar to a sun shirt you would war to the beach. I used it as a layer between my body and my wetsuit so that my wet suit is easier to get on an off without tearing the lining.

KEVIN K This is NOT neoprene, it is lycra / spandex like women's tights, it is very thin. Use this as a brush guard, or sun blocker while topside. I like mine, have used it on several trips and still looks good. I wear this under my wetsuit for added warmth, and ease of donning and doffing the wetsuit.
MICHAEL S No more than 0.5mm. It's basically a full sized rash guard.
JERRY K This is a "skin", not a thermal protection. It's 0.01 mm thick.
ROBERT I This is just a Lycra suit, no neoprene. The biggest advantage is no exposed skin (helps topside to reduce sun exposure as well). There's a little bit of warmth, but not much. I like mine. Very comfortable and stretchy.

ERIC S With your chest size, I would recommend a 2XL, you're waist would be fine in a 1XL, but you'll need the extra room in the chest. I love mine, my only wish was that I order a size up than I normally do, as it's a bit snug.

Since we're talking about a lycra suit, it isn't going to fit baggy anywhere there is surplus material. The overall appearance should be smooth and taut; not looking like a balloon about to bust. I'd go with the X-large.

ROBERT W I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't. I am a 6 ft 2in guy who bought one in 2007 and the this skin is still in great shape. It gets used a lot here in coastal NC and works great with either a shorty or under 3/5 wetsuit. I'll be getting another one if this one ever wears out.

EUGENE P It worked well for my wife who bought size S. She is about 5'7" and 120-125 lbs. To give you a hard number, the unstretched leg length (to the floor on the inside) on that suit is 28.5" and it should stretch somewhat to fit well. Its total unstretched length is about 52". So you can make your own measurements and decide.
SUSAN G Yes it would fit... But this is my experience: I dove with it under a 5mm wetsuit for 8 days with 2-4 dives a day. By the end, I had several snags and a few rips in it. The other downfall was the front zipper under the wetsuit, It would push on my sternum or I would have to leave it 1/2 way unzipped. I probably wouldn't recommend this for under a wetsuit Iike I was recommened for added warmth.

MEREDITH S Hi, Sizing is tricky. I am 5'2" and 120 pounds ... but my waist is 27 and hips 36. I have a size small hendersen lycra skin and it's a little tight in the middle (which is where my excess weight is) but wearable. My best guess is that you are a small ... but it depends on how your weight is distributed.
VERONICA H I am 5'3" weighing 100 lbs and wear an XS. My boyfriend is 5'11" weight almost 160 and he wears the large. Based on that, my best guess is that a medium would work for you.

LeisurePro S There are a few products under the 'Accessories' tab that will work really well against the smell that may invade your suit. The wetsuit shampoo, along with proper drying and storage, will help prevent smell while the "sink the stink" product will help get rid of pre-existing smell.
