Shopper what size to buy?
WALT R The Zip Fin is proportioned to your foot and body size. You want the fin to fit your foot with no "sloppage." In other words, get your foot into the fin so it is snug enough not to move on your foot. That will avoid blistering. As to blades, they are automatic. Remember, any fin will give your lower body a work-out, but the Zip Fin will work fine in a swimming pool. The object is to get good exercise - not beat the pants off every other swimmer in the water.

BILL M they are not designed to go over booties, I wear size 12 shoe, I got exta large. these fins are for pool swimming not ocean. I bought mine 4 years ago and swim 4-5 days per week -- they are still working fine--though, I have had to replace the straps once. good luck bill
Chris B I see people use this for a lightweight travel fin, but you do not recommend it for that purpose. Do you have a fin you would recommend for this use? Thanks
Shopper Are these fins comfortable for wide feet (3E to 6E size)?

Shopper can these fins be used by an 8-year old to improve all the swimming strokes?
PAUL R I would say probably not, they are still an adult fin. If he is a really big kid then maybe.
WALT R Yes, but...
eight year old swimmers may wish to use the fins all the time once they get
used to them, and they will not help with the "whip kick" for the breast stroke. They are very good for muscle strengthening and learning proper technique. Good luck. Let's build a champion.
ROSEANN W Hmm... I don't know about "strokes". In my opinion I believe the fins help with leg strength, but not necessarily the over-all stroke form. I'm also thinking they might be to much fin for an 8 y.o. I will add that as an adult 20+ year lap swimmer, I've tried other fins only to come back to these. Hope this helps with your decision.

LENORA K My husband and 15 year old son also use them, the fins are great for snorkeling. I really like them because they are small and easy for travel.
ROSEANN W I am female, but in my opinion these are unisex fins. FYI, I use these for lap swimming. I actually switched companies/fins and ended up sending the other fins back and coming back to these. I highly recommend these fins for male or female swimmers.
WALT R Hi, Shopper. You asked if Zip Fins are only for women? I am about as man as one can get and I wear them to kick a mile every day. I have a lot of fun when people ask about them. Maybe it is the color, but at 74 who cares!?
DANNY C No, it is unisex so use the sizing chart for women's size (they are usually 1 size smaller than men's size, but check to be sure).

Shopper does the color of the fin mean anything, such as more or less resistance?
LeisurePro S No there is no difference in resistance between colors. I can't comment on their effectiveness compared to resistance bands, but as these fins strengthen the muscles in your legs, you shouldn't become dependent on them, they should help you develop stronger swimming.
Shopper I'd like to wear a dive sock with these fins and wear a size 6. Would you suggest a medium?
