Shopper can this swivel be put between 1st stage & 2nd stage hose ?? i have std 3/8 reg. & hose...i know it will not fit without an adapter, but which one ???
WILLIAM L this swivel is for the second stage attachment to the LP hose. I would not personally want to try it on a first stage. If you use this swivel at all be aware that it has a set screw and this needs to be regularly checked for tightness. Tech and cave divers do not use this type of swivel due to increased risk of failure.
KEVIN P No, I don't think so. On my reg, not only are the thread sizes different, but the O-ring arrangment is different on the two ends of the hose. This fitting is intended to mount between the hose and your second stage. There is, however another fitting on this site somewhere that I have used on my frist stage. It's a 90 degree fitting with a swivel. So it always has the 90 degree bend like a pipe elbow, but the swivel allows the elbow to swivel 360 degrees.
FOREST D I dont know the answer to your question. However, my Aqua 360 swivel leaked at the screw on the ball portion and i ended up not using. I connected right at the base of the 2nd stage.
Ron P Actually, no; this fitting is not designed to go between the 1st stage and the hose. It is designed to go between the 2nd stage and the hose. The female side will attach to the 2nd stage (once the hose is removed), and the hose will attach to the male side; allowing the 2nd stage to swivel on the end of the hose. (In the case that you want the hose to come under your arm instead of over the shoulder.) I have one of these attached to my Scuba Pro S600; attached to that is a shut-off and a male QD connector. I have the same setup on my full face mask. This allows me to use a quick disconnect hose (e.g. B.C. Inflator Hose), from the 1st stage, to switch back and forth from the normal 2nd Stage to the FFM. A lengthy answer, but I hope it helps.
