JIM B The size of the slate is 8x11, the size of stadard notebook paper.

Shelley R A hard plastic.

ROBERT M The one that I got was plastic coated foam board.For the price they are nice,but if you are going to be hard on them they dent easy.

FRANK T it is made of the same material the smaller slates are made from, some type of plastic.

This slate appears to be made of expanded PVC also known as Sintra rather than solid plastic.

Since it is not solid plastic, but rather foamed, it is not rigid and it is not durable.

The slate will actually deform due to the pressure of a pencil on it.
