Dan M Do I need special pins for my factory installed Tacoma?
TOMMY B We have a Z71 with factory installed hitch and have had not problems at all.
MICHAEL H If you have a standard box hitch you will not need special pins. Heres how it installs: when you look at the picture the chrome round button (one on each side) is actually the pins that are pushed through the standard hitch holes. There are sliders inside the vault that lock to those pins. Rubber grommets are used to adjust the depth to ensure it can line up with the holes in your hitch. I remove my vault all the time to put in my hitch. It takes less than 10 seconds to take it off an put it back on. I love my vault because I often park my truck at a public trail to go for a run. I did not like carrying my keys or trying to find a placed to hide it while I am away from my truck. This has solved that problem. We also use it when others need access to the truck and I am not there. For example, when we park it at the beach and put the keys in the vault and go our own way. Then if the kids need something they just remove the key get it then lock them away again. The vault is a bit expensive but I do not regret buying it for one second. Hope this helps.
