GEORGE D There is a strap on the regulator bag, although it may be a bit short for a shoulder strap. Maybe more like a purse length strap.

KEITH W The roller back pack is a nice bag. Lots if space 2 sets if dive gear easily. Holds up well on boat or airplane. The only negative is it us heavy, but durable.The refh bag comes with it also.

STEVEN D I am a buyer who purchased the Akona Backpack. I do not remember if a shoulder strap was included. I sometimes do not use extra straps and put extra straps in a drawer. I just looked at that regulator bag and it DOES have two loops for a shoulder strap. You could easily buy a shoulder strap if one is not included. Regarding the Akona Backpack, it is the most amazing dive bag/pack that I have ever owned. GREAT for traveling on a dive trip!!

SCOTT H We bought the bag back in 2008. We've only used a few times since then for trips to the Carribean, but so far it's holding up fine.
DOUGLAS C on my second use / diving trip, part of the surface of my bag was scratched / torn when i picked it up from the conveyor belt at the airport. although the quality of the bag feels substantial, i m not sure how to rate the longevity of this bag

GEORGE D We have taken it to Cozumel every year since we bought it in 2009, as well as Hawaii. I like it much bettter than my other bag, brand x. I need to buy another one. It fits all my gear, plus enough clothes (shorts and tshirts) for a week in Cozumel. Works well, and has weathered the airport baggage handlers very well, nothing is broken or torn.

KIP W I bought this bag a few years ago with these considerations:
*I do both tropical and cold water diving. I needed a bag large enough to accommodate a dry-suit and cold water gear.
*As an instructor, one sees how gear tends to wear. Akona is a good value for the dollar.
So far, it's performed really well.
JOSHUA N I like the padded straps, external cover and wheels (although one of our wheels messed up and required a fix after our first trip). Overall I felt it was a good bag for the money at the time we bought it, but that was almost 5 yrs ago so I don't remember what we paid for it.
SCOTT C Pros: It holds a lot, I can put my rebreather and all my dive gear in it. The side pockets for the fins is a good idea.
I travel a lot with it. Its a good dive suitcase.
Cons: the plastic frame pieces on the back smashed the first time I traveled with it but it doesnt seem to affect it in any way.
The backpack straps are useless
RANY A I chose this Akona bag because it is rugged (will withstand travel handling/abuse), stiff (not flimsy), stable (easy to handle in airports), and can accommodate all your SCUBA gear plus some! I've taken this bag on 4 trips to the Caribbean already and it has proven its worth.
LEE B The bag is great. I bought it to cary gear for two. The problem with it now is that it is larger than most all airline check baggage size allowances and once packed, is overweight. I now use a Dive caddy and carry on all of my gear.

With respect to the bag ...I have never had one problem with it...when my wife and I travel and we do travel 7-8 times a year, we find we can set two sets of diving gear and still keep it under weight so we will not get charged extra at the airport.
We had no problems with the wheels when we had to haul them through the sand or they got wet...

STEVEN R I picked it because it had great reviews and I had had good experience with other Akona stuff. It is big enough for two complete sets of warm water gear but that puts you slightly over the airline limit so you get stuck with an overweight bag charge. To keep it under the limit you have to take out most of the second set of gear. Awesome bag, just a little heavy.

LeisurePro S I would recommend four locks if you want to lock both of the fin pockets. If not, two should be fine.

Shopper I am looking for a bag with wheels that will fit my large Master Frog Fins (approx 29" by 9.5"). How large of a fin can the Akona Roller Backpack fit? What else would you recommend?
LeisurePro S This bag should fit the master frog fins just fine, I cannot think of any bag with larger fin compartments than this bag.
Shopper Can you get the size of the bag through check in with Continental Airline? Their size limet is 62 L inches this one is 66 inches
LeisurePro S The dimensions of this bag depend largely on how it is packed and how full it is. If the bag is not completely stuffed it should fall within the check in size limits as long as it is under the 50 Lb weight limit. Remember if you remove the regulator bag from it that is usually enough to slim it down, and it is highly recomended to carry that on so the airline doesn't destroy it. On a personal note, I have taken this bag all over the world and never had a problem taking it with me as long as it was under the weight limit.
