Questions about this item:
Shopper I read that the computer has a 'safety stop' prompt but does mean it has a safety stop count-down timer or just an 'alert' such as going into a flashing mode?
CHAO W It has a 3 min countdown at 15 feet
CHRISTI U It has a 3 minute count down that starts when you hit 20'
TOM M Hi,
My son uses the computer. I have a Sherwood Wisdom.. I believe the Aeris has a counter and bar graph and goes in to flash mode when you hit deco. He's had it for a few years now and so far so good. Plus the battery is easy to replace.
Shopper does this have any compass function?
Frank L No, but you can add a compass module to the console.
MICHAEL B Yes, it's on the other side of pressure gauge
CAROL A Not that I know of. My compass is a separate unit attached to the opposite side of my BCD.
THOMAS D I am not 100% sure, but, I do not think so. I bought it as gift for a friend and got him a compass at the same time.
FRED W E The console that I bought did not have a compass. I was replacing a computer, so that was not a problem.
Shopper Is the console flat on back side? i.e. does it sit flush on a table, or are there bumps in it? Also, is it straight, or does it angle up at the computer end like many consoles? Looks straight, but hard to tell from photo. I'm looking for a straight, no angle, no bumps on the bottom console!
PATRICIA E It looks exactly like the photo. There aren't really bumps and it isn't straight, the part you see in the imagine under the air gauge can sit flush on a table, but the computer itself is at a 15 degree angle cocked upward.
I hope that helps!
RICHARD C The console has a bump on the back to accomodate a compass. Other than that , it is flat.
ROBERT H Console is not flat, but has a slimmer profile than most consoles. The upper computer and lower SPG both slope downward toward the center of the console, but ever so slightly. This gives it an ergonomic feel, as does the thumb depression in the rear bottom half of the console (which is otherwise flat). This is definitely not a bulky console and can be streamlined with a carabiner to attach to a BCD's D-ring. If you're looking for something that's easy to streamline with a fairly slim profile, this model is very good. It is quite light in weight and doesn't turn or roll when placed atop a flat table surface.
MIRCEA B This console in not flat on the back side, and it couldn't sit flush on a table.
It has a big bump on the back, where I placed the compass.
Also it is not straight, but it does angle a bit at the computer end.
Myself, I like it as it is.
Shopper what size replacement battery does this take?
CHERYL D I don't know off hand but if you take the old battery out or look in your owners manual you should be able to find out. I want to say a 3025 but I'm really not sure of the top of my head.
STEVEN D It takes a CR2450 battery (coin style). It's not hard to find this battery at a drugstore.
Shopper I'm trying to decide what to get. Why did you pick this one?
GENE Z I picked it because it was cheap. It is a fine computer, but looking back, I would prefer an air integrated one (and one with nitrox as my model didn't have that option). The computer works fine. The screen is a little small but overall, it is fine. I am looking into an air integrated one with nitrox, but they are much more expensive.
ANDRE R User friedly, simple, good value. Still works great.
JOHN C Inexpensive first computer ! Easy to use !
KEVIN N It was a reasonable price and does all that I need. Pressure gauge and computer in nice console. No problems with it so far. Had about 10 dive over the past year.
ZACHARY D I picked this one because it had many features and was inexpensive. I got it for a travel computer but now I always use it. it is very easy to use and very functional. I don't know what you are looking for in your computer so I don't know what else to tell you. however, if you use or are planning to use nitrox you will want the Xr2 or a different computer altogether
THOMAS D It was a gift for my dive buddy's 70th birthday. I did some research and concluded that the unit was well-priced, suited for him as the occasional diver and received good reviews by other users.
CHERYL D I chose this computer because it is very easy to use and the price is fair. I have gone through 3 computers. I was most impressed by the use and easy functions of the aeris XR-1. I had to replace one just like it due to my bad. I checked it with the rest of my dive gear. Big mistake. The airline security unpacked my bag to search it and did not even put the cover back on my computer. Between the way they re-packed it and the way the airline handled it it got cracked. That is why I needed a new one. I have used far more expensive computers but I find that they are complicated and hard to figure out because they have too many buttons and "extra features". This computer is straight forward. The one that was broken by the airline probably had 250+ dives on it and it still worked great.
Just always carry on your computer when you fly!!
ALISON D Yes, I bought 3 of them. I use them for rental gear. I have a bunch of them from a year ago too. I love them. They are simple to understand, you can change the battery yourself and if something breaks Aeris backs their product up and has a good customer service department. I just recommened this one to a couple of my customers the other day.
Hope that helps!
Alison
Katy B Does this measure Nitrox?
RICHARD C I never dove nitrox, and as far as i know, this computer is only good for air.
MICHAEL B Katy,
No it doesn't measure Nitrox.
Mike
ALLAN S The computer does not measure Nitrox. Before each dive the O2 level must be entered. The computer based on the O2 level entered uses the appropriate algorithmic to plan the dive and comput dive time.
PATRICK M No this computer is air only. Another issue with is no back lighting. I recommend the air integrated models. I've made hundreds of dives with no problems from the three I own. I also use a xr-2 wrist model as a backup on deeper dives
ROBERT H No. The XR-2 does. This is an otherwise reliable and very easy to use computer for a broad range of diving activities. It's a great bargain, though the XR-2 might be what you're looking for.
Shopper Is the computer "puck" removable from the console? It is not mentioned anywhere in the description or features.
DAVID K yes it is removeable. I have put over 100 dives on mine and can say this is a very good product. I use as a backup to my elite t3.
TOM M I suppose you could pop it out for a wrist mount. I've never tried it. I had a wrist mount and didn't like it. I just clip it off on a BC ring. It works pretty well. and is out of the way.
PATRICIA E I've never taken it out, but I know there is an attachment you can get to hook it up to your computer. I do not actually know nor have I bought the attachment. Sorry!
Christen S Is there a compass on the console? None of the pictures show it and I did not see it mentioned in the description/features? Thanks.
LARRY W Yes, it does have a compass. It's actually a nicer compass than my previous console had.
KEVIN N There is no compass on the Aeris XR-1 compiuter console.
MICHAEL B Yes, there is a compass on the console. If you look carefully it is on the backside of console behind the pressure gauge.
Mike Bushell
MICHAEL D There is no compass.
JOEL S Christen, You can order a compass for the backside which is what I did. I'm not sure if Leisure Pro has it, but they should. Joel
Michael H Would the connection fit a first stage in australian? are australian and american first stage connections the same?
Monica s Hello, Yes it should be fine to fit your first stage, it is a 7/16" threaded fitting which is pretty standard with the exception of some older regs by some manufacturers specifically which will have a different fitting, you should be ok.
Shopper is it nitrox compatible?
J PATRICK B The Aeris XR-1 is not a nitrox computer. Air (21%) only.
TOD V The XR-1 is not nitrox compatable but it is a outstanding computer and easy to use.
Shopper 1) How does the Console displays pressure in bar? Does it come in two different versions with two different dials of the SPG - either in PSI or in Bar?
2) What is that small dial on te lower part of the SPG?
Bill P The guage is only in PSI. The lower small dial is for the temperature
Wes S Which compass will fit on this ? I bought it for Lobster mini-season and I found I was really missing the compass feature I had on my last computer. Will the Aeris X1 compass work?
Bill P Yes the Aeris X1 is perfect for this
Shopper how many gauges?
LP Customer S This Console includes the Computer and Pressure Gauge, with an optional slot compass in the back
Shopper Is the battery rechageable? Can the XR-1 read tank pressure?
LeisurePro S The battery is not rechargeable (it is similar to a watch-type battery). The xr-1 is not configured for reading tank pressure. You will have to look into a computer that comes with a transmitter that attaches to your first stage.
Shopper is depyh in meters of aeris xr1 . is pressure gauge in bars. thanks
Hunter S Hi,
I understand that the computer can run either in metric or imperial modes. Do you sell a version that has a metric pressure gauge and temp in C?
LeisurePro S Can be set by user to read either in Imperial or Metric.
Shopper Does the Aeris XR1 come with the plastic computer cover?
LeisurePro S Sorry, no. Look under the Accessories tab for a couple computer covers that fit on this console.
Shopper Does the computer come with a battery
Shopper hi i would like to ask if this dive computer mesure depth in meters than feet and if the presure gauge can show bar mesure?thanks
LeisurePro S Yes metric and imperial
Shopper does this unit have any type of audible alarm
Shopper Is the pressure gauge and computer on the same side like in the photo displayed and a spot to buy a compass on the back??? The reason I ask is the reviews say the computer and gauge are on opposite sides but the photo shows otherwise
LeisurePro S Just like the photo
Shopper Dose this Item have a compass on the back.?
LeisurePro S No. But it has a slot in the back to put in an optional compass
Shopper Does Aeris make a comparable console computer that is nitrox capable? I really like this product, but need Nitrox capability.

Whats in the box:Online Class, Computer, Pressure Gauge, HP Hose, Owner's Manual The AERIS XR-1 is an ideal user-friendly diving console. Have you ever spent a dive staring at your computer instead of looking at everything in the water all because your computer is hard to read? The XR-1's enlarged digits, easy-to-read icons, and split screen take the guesswork out of reading your dive computer. Also, the XR-1 allows you to decide what information displays; now you can customize the display to include only the things you want to keep an eye on during your dives. Variable ascent rate indicator will keep you safe upon ascent and slow you down progressively as you head to the surface. Safety stop timer will give you the ability to include the all important 15' (5 meter) safety stop which is recommended by all instructional agencies. The XR-1 features a diver replaceable CR2450 battery. This can be a real trip-saver on board a live-aboard boat! Should you be in a tight spot between dives, the "hot-swap" feature (8 seconds) allows you to change batteries between dives while maintaining all calculations. Other features of the computer are a calendar and clock, 330' (100 meter) operating depth, variable ascent rate, push button or water activation, altitude adjustable, wait to fly time, 12 dive on-unit log capacity, pre-dive plan sequence, dive planner and much more. Any diver will agree that an air supply is the most important part of scuba diving - right next to water, of course. The pressure gauge included in the Aeris XR-1 Computer Console won't let you down. It accurately reports your remaining air pressure, and the pressure gauge is easy to read due to its contemporary display. Pressure gauge is also equipped with a thermometer to monitor both water and air temperature. Pressure gauge has a luminescent dial for ease of reading in low light or night diving conditions. The computer and pressure gauge come with Aeris 30 day satisfaction guarantee and a 24 month limited warranty. Due to MFG restrictions, this can be sold to the USA and Caribbean only. Product Videos:
