Questions about this item:
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
CESAR G Back inflation, simple and relatively compact.
LAURA P Like Aeris Products, sturdy and light weight with back padding and clips. Will take all the abuse I give it in salt water and clorinated. Laura at Private Scuba Lessons dot com
Shopper sizing ?
Frank L The Size chart is located to the right of the "Select Size" box.
Shopper Does it come with two tank bands?
RICH L It has one main strap for the tank and a smaller stabilizing strap at the top that slips over the valve on top of the tank.
COREY C No, this BC has a single tank band. I have found it to be quite secure and have never had an issue with tank slippage in over 50 dives.
ROLAND D It only has one band. I dive with steel 100 cuft tanka and do not have problem. There is a rubber keeper on the BC side that helps prevent the tank from slipping.
MARY L No, there is only one tank band. The one holds the tank very securely if you get it wet before strapping the tank on. There are two trim pockets sewn onto the tank band as well. It is a great entry level bcd!
CODY M No it only has one.
SHERRY E Only one tank band
ROBERT M I returned this product because I did not like the external back inflation. I do not believe it comes with two tank bands. But not 100% sure.
JOSEPH L No, it has a single band. I've used the bcd on 5 dives now and it works great. Definitely worth the $200 I paid, but if you need 2 bands, you'll probably need to find another bcd as I'm not sure how you could attach a second.
DAVE W Just one tank band
JAYLON A Only has 1 tank band.
Shopper I'd like to know the exact size and weight of the package to be mailed to my adress after make the buy in the internet. I did not understand if the BC comes with extra weight besides the 7 pounds of itself?
Frank L It does not come with weights. The package will weigh approximately 8 lbs.
BRUCE K Mine came without any weights.
BRYAN T BC does not come with any weights. You must buy wieghts and put them in the pouches that are supplied. NO BC will come with weights as each person will need different amounts based on body type, wet suit thickness etc. Any dive shop will have the appropriate weights to add to the BC. Hope this helps.
COREY C It does not come with extra weight - so it's just the weight of the BCD itself (7 lbs) plus the shipping packaging.
RICO M I bought the BC 2 months ago- no it does not come with extra weight. I do not recall the size of the box but it was large, 3 ft by 4ft is my guess.
MATTHEW B no extra weight
Shopper Does this have an "instructor cheat tab" that can get caught on a hose and allow air to escape the BCD?
RICH L I don't think so. I've one about thirty dives on this and you can only dump ir from fill hose and the dump valve at the bottom right in the back.
Hope this helps,
Rich
COREY C To the best of my knowledge, no it does not. I'm a newbie since August 2011, but in 50 dives I've never had an issue with accidentally losing air. This is a great BCD.
john c can't decide between large and xl? am 6 ft, 220, thick build not fat build.
RICK W I would go with the xl. I am 6 175 and large is perfect
HA C Hi, looks like we have more or less the same build. I'm using L and it provides me with a snug fit. The chest strap is a bit too high up but not too sure if Aeris has made some design changes to it. Takes up much less space when I'm packing for my dive trips. I do miss the bigger pockets I had on my Sherwood but then it was much heavier and take up a lot of space. Enjoy!
RICH L I'm 6 ft 2 in and 190 and where a medium. I would guess large.
GERARD C Hi, I think you should go with th XL. I am 5'11 and 200lbs and like the XL - I wear it with a dry suit and like the size. Hope this helps.
Gerry
THOMAS B I am 6'5 270lbs I am almost too big for the XL. I suggest buying the XL. I think it would be perfect for your size.
CODY M I bought this for my boyfriend who is about the same height and probably 230 and I got him the XL just to be safe and it fit him well and he has been diving in Florida keys, Bonaire, and the outer banks nc and still loves it!
JAYLON A I'm 6'-4" and 245#, I bought an XL and have alot of extra room left. The next time I buy a BCD I will go with a Large.
CARLOS B Size its pretty accurate.
JAMES A XL would fit you best.
ALDO A I am 5'6", 190 pounds, like you, thick build not fat. On shoulder straps I use the half of it extension, so there are about 6" to adjust for a taller person. My waist is 36? and it has around 3" each side to make it bigger. So make your own conclusions.
Aldo
WES S If it helps I'm 5'11, 175lbs and I got the medium. A bit compact but I prefer it that way. Plenty of adjustability in the shoulder straps to get on and off.
BRUCE K I am just abut the same size as you, got the large and it seems to be just fine.
DAVE W I would definitely go xl.
Shopper The size chart doesn't show XL size while it is possible to order one.
So, what are the parameters of XL size? (Lift/chest/etc)
Shopper Would this be a good b.c.d. for traveling?
NICOLE T Depends on your preference. It lays pretty flat, works well for me!
SAMUEL C It is not a small traveling BC per se, but is pretty compact and light. Good quality and I have been pleased with it.
BRETT H yes its light weight and compact
NICOLE T Yes. Its fairly compact and the weight pockets come out as well. Because of that, you can store those in a separate pocket of your bag if need be.
ALDO A I think this could be a good bcd for traveling, off course without the weights. You can pack it in a small space and it's not too heavy itself. There are other devices specially design for traveling, but they don?t give all the features of this one, so may it depends of how comfortable you want to be underwater or in your way to the dive site.
JULIA K We traveled to Roatan Honduras with this BCD and it fit will within our Dive Bag, It is not all that heavy and worked really well for my son.
I would recommend it.
RICHARD P If you travel alot and are concerned more about luggage weight and fees, then you may be better off renting your gear than bringing it. But if you use this BCD all the time and would feel more secure knowing your equipment then it's a good BCD for traveling. It's not the lightest or most compact, but it's comparable to most. I take mine with me when I travel. Also, make sure you have the right type and configuration luggage for dive gear as I consider it more important than how light my luggage is.
Shopper Does this come with 20lb of weight?
LeisurePro S No, integrated pockets are included, but weight must be purchased separately. We have coated lead block weights here and soft weight pouches here.
Shopper Does this BCD have a shoulder exhaust/dump valve?
LeisurePro S No, just a lower right pull dump and the regular exhaust on the inflator.
Shopper How much is the weight of this BCD?
LeisurePro S This BCD has a dry weight of 7 pounds, 12 ounces in a medium.
