Comments about Tusa Hyperdry MAX Snorkel:

Great snorkel. My only gripe, and it's a big one, is that sometimes the dry system will engage and close the snorkel at seemingly very inopportune times, for example when I'm taking that last big breath right before a dive, etc. The good news is that it definitely stays dry. The bad news is that sometimes it will scare me, cause me to freak out and choke. Had I tried this before I would not have bought it. So if you can try it, who knows you might really like it.

Comments about Tusa Hyperdry MAX Snorkel:

I lost the first one and though I got a semi dry which is OK, I just had to get another dry snorkel. Not surprisingly I went with the one I know works well for me. While I've always had issues with the mouthpiece that is just my preference. Apart from that bias it's a solid performer having helped me out after a dive where the water was choppy. A few times it sealed. Exhaling opens the valve and provides the confidence of knowing you're not inhaling water.

I only wish I could change the mouthpiece for a smaller size.

Comments about Tusa Hyperdry MAX Snorkel:

Works perfectly. Tusa snap lock strap retainer is a nice touch for being able to remove the snorkel from the mask strap easily. The swivel helps it fit perfectly.
The float/ splash feature is fancy with 2 floats. However, I could not get it to have a problem. Those that complain about it in other reviews should probably stay out of the water and off the reviews. I am soooo picky, so after a few reviews complaining of unscheduled splash guard plugups I was leary. But, I emphasize that it was awesome. I don't just surface snorkel. I dive, swim inverted, and just enjoy myself. This made it possible. The purge worked like a champ with a quick blast if I ever heard a few drops of water build up.

Comments about Tusa Hyperdry MAX Snorkel:

This is an excellent dry snorkel. It requires some getting use to however as it will seal if water hits the float stopping the air. But that's why we take slow steady breaths, in the event water enters the snorkel if its not a dry snorkel or in the event the bore is closed.

Always remember to exhale when switching to the snorkel to open the valve which would have been closed due to water. If this happens at the surface, exhale slightly. Takes some getting use to but once you get use to a dry snorkel its hard to go back.

On the downside I did get jaw fatigue despite the flexible neck. I think this is more due to the size and the drag created by the snorkel in the water. Note this only occurred snorkeling. While switching from regulator to snorkel during a shore dive I had no such problem due to the slower pace through the water back to shore.

dry system flap can close over snorkel tube while taking a breath. diving wreck in three foot swells,
flap closed & caused me to choke while swimming to the boat. Stop & yanked off the dry top system and worked very well.
