Shopper Im thinking of buying the Tusa Active Purge Assist.... Would a combination of the Tusa Active Purge Assist and the Tusa Duo-Air Alternate Combo Inflater (IR-3) work with the Tusa Platina Evolution BCD? Would there be any negatives to this setup? Would it be beneficial? Or would I lose the benefits of either the purge assist or the duo-air octopus/inflater capability?
KEN K The system works, however I'm not one to advise an alternate air on the inflator. It's been point of I just wouldn't do that for years. One the only thing you accomplish is that you get rid of one hose. Big deal now you are the one that get's stuck with breathing off the octo if and when its needed. And its far more comfortable to use the standard set up. Plus if you have trouble with your BCD you just bought a new Octo again as well getting more expensive as you go." Right" plus when you have your reg serviced your BCD has to go at same time costing you dives, and
aggravation. I LOVE the 4&5 hose system on my rig. If my reg. needs service it gets it and if my BCD needs service it gets it and they don't slow me down diving. And I don'd care who is servicing your equipment
it will take time to service both. Hope this helped

JAMES B Don't think you can do both on same bc. I have the Tusa active purge assist and it works well for an alternate means for dumping air from bc with out having to hold hose above the bc
