Great bang-for-the-buck, great bag, [...]. great size, weight & capacity. Double zippers you can use TSA locks with.Ben, at Leisure Pro, was terrific, as was Jim at Stahlsac. Both bags are 1680 denier, a very strong material, contrary to what web sites say about the "Cozumel" bag being "Tru-Ballisitc." I looked very closely at the Stahlsac "Cozumel" bag but decided on this one. Happy as a fish in the water. (The "Cozumel" bag is being re-designed over the next few months. It isn't on the market yet.)While the Stahlsac is smaller in size than my Akona it definitely holds more. It is also about 4 lbs lighter. I spent 3 days doing the research on all similar bags & asked a lot of questions.

After reading the rave reviews of the Jamaican Smuggler, I decided to get one. The first time I took this bag on a trip one of the wheels broke; the design of the wheels is such that it is impossible to fix on your own, there is no axle casing as on other bags-- the wheel and axle are integral so when the outer housing breaks the wheel just falls out. Imagine dragging a dive bag to a parking garage where there are no luggage carts. I travel frequently and while good luggage is hard to find and accidents happen, I would not buy another of these bags and in fact am sending this one back. It is light weight but doesn't have much in the way of extra compartments (1 only) or other helpful accessories in the design, it's just a big duffle.

How many companies will warrant their products against airline damage?........after having lots of other dive bags needing repair from constant mishandling, I decided to spend a little more for a well-constructed, great dive bag........

Comments about Stahlsac W421-B The Jamaican Smuggler:

The bag is built well enough and will definitely withstand airline travel. However, despite several reviews I read regarding interior space, this bag can clearly hold only one complete set of dive gear. So if you're only looking to hold the one set, with little or no other items, this bag is great. However, if you wish to pack a few pieces of clothing, or some additional gear, I'd suggest a bigger bag.

This bag has proven to be a great travel bag.
You can put 2 sets of dive gear in this bag.

It is light when empty and is tough enough for the careless baggage handlers.

Comments about Stahlsac W421-B The Jamaican Smuggler:

I have an Akona Evolution that I thought was pretty good for dive travel until it became apparent that it was designed poorly and constantly fell over. I bought a Jamaican Smuggler for my husband, and gear-bag envy set in as soon as I saw that he could pack all of his gear easily and come in at least 5 pounds lighter than my bag, well under the 50-lb airline limit, and it stood up by itself. Well, I bought my own Jamaican Smuggler and it's definitely better than the Akona in terms of capacity, weight, and balance. The Smuggler has one very large double-zippered compartment with cinch straps to keep things snug, and a good-sized second zippered compartment above it that's easily reached from outside. Inside the cover of the main bag there's a zippered mesh compartment for some small items. I would prefer more compartments, but that would cut down on capacity and add weight. The external cinch straps keep the bulk to a minimum, and the handles are pretty sturdy. The wheels are somewhat small, but I haven't travelled with it long enough on rough surfaces to know how they'll hold up.

I recommend Stahl Sac to have an extended handle for us tall guys. Other wise we tall guys hold the extended handle and drag the bottom of the bag and that frays bottom of the bag Quickly. Or bigger wheels....great bag
