Ok, I've taken the camera on several dives now and used it above water as a normal point and shoot. The most disappointing thing was the low sensitivity of the sensor (pretty much the same as my cell phone camera), and it showed in the dive photos. It also is a pain to manually configure the light settings underwater. Also, I had problems with SD card acceptance (off brands seemed to work better), and the video files are not compressed (which would double the time available for recording) and record at 24fps.

Otherwise, the camera had good battery life (I can get two hour-long dives in on one charge), and with quick shot on it is fast with taking photos. Underwater the housing is easy to deal with, and it has not leaked on me. It is a very compact point and shoot, lightweight and portable. Just be sure to pick up several high capacity SD cards, as you will burn through the storage space. The video looks good, but is slightly choppy due to the slow frame rate. With the free delivery and cost equivalent to an underwater housing, it was a good way to start, but next time I may just by the underwater housing for a better point-n-shoot.

Just completed a week long dive safari with this camera & I'd say it is just OK.

The Good: compact, sturdy, good seals

The Bad: Too many options & buttons with hardly any relevant to underwater photography. Also no idea where to get replacement seals for later

The ugly : Very slow to focus & often turns out OOF photos. The results upto 10m depeth were acceptable however beyond that you can expect to scrap 7 out of 10 photos

I bought this camera as a starter to get into digital underwater photography, replacing my old 35mm Sea & Sea camera. For the price, it doesn't get any better than this. 14MP, 720p HD video mode, housing included! The two attached pictures were taken on my first day of diving with the camera.
