Questions about this item:
Shopper Hi Guy,
What is the size of the high-pressure ports and the low-pressure ports?
Will
JOHN D The ports are all industry standard.
David H The ports are the standard 7/16 HP and 3/8 LP
JOE T Right off I'm not sure but they are Reg. size fitting . All my hoses from
my Mares fit . The BIG thing I do not like on the 2nd stage is the
exhaust dumps under the mask and you have a hard time keeping a seal on the mask . I have went with 3 different mask and they are all the same. The exhaust skirt is way to short . A big draw back on this !!!!
I would not buy the A700 .
SEAN H Do you mean the actual diameter? I can measure but they are standard sizes and you don't need special sizes for the hoses.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Sean
JOHN H The sizes of the ports are standard since virtually all Regulators use "compatible" hoses. For instance, I gave my wife my Octo from my set up since I have an integrated Octo for my BC, I used the Plug from her 1st stage to fill my now empty port (she has an Atomic Reg.).
While this was not asked, I highly recomend the braded hoses for these Regulators. I takes away any of the preasure that you can sometimes feel (from any Reg) on the sides of the mouth while diving.
Shopper What Octo do you recomend ? Thanks.
JOSEPH S I use the scuba pro R295 octo. It is reliable. The mk25/A700 is a nice reg I thought the secound stage would feel heavy but was just fine

NEIL RONARD Q Hi!
A Scubapro R295 would suffice, and at $159 it's a great deal. Straightforward and easy to use, proven design, with no user adjustments. Nice thing is that I've seen it take a beating, and live through abuse for years.
The newer C200 octo is actually cheaper at the discounted price of $134.95. However, "tales" point to slight problems in the upward facing position. The VIVA switch may come in handy, giving better control on free flows. However as a secondary reg that's rarely used, that VIVA switch can get stuck and give you some more concerns later on.
In any case, get one that's of the same brand, since their IP calibration are the same. Although I mix up brands in some of my regulator sets, I often have problems with freeflows and broken HP gauges which could be attributed to different IP's.
Hope this helps, Godbless!
STEVE E Stay with ScubaPro. I have the R395. Only had one incidence of free flow and a guy on the shore happened to be a ScubaPro person and had the adjustment tool to set the flow back. ScubaPro is everywhere with great dealers.
JUSTIN C I recommend this one. Scubapro mk25 /a700 breaths very easy and is nicely put together. Google reviews on this reg and you will find it rates very high.
CARL B R295 OCTOPUS is a good one. They were selling the older models that were all yellow a few months ago but I guess they don't have anymore.
ANNIE O I have the r295 works great, and mostly black so it doesn't ruin the look of the a700, I think they have an r395 now too, but I would not spend a fortune on my octopus
Dan H I use a scuba pro C200 with my A200/mk25. OFD valve and adjustable VIVA. Bright enough with the all yellow cover and hose. Scuba pro quality without a huge cost associated. I have the C200 on my daughters G250V/mk25 as well. Love the scuba pro octo holder that covers the opening in the mouthpiece but still allows a quick grab to free.
MICHAEL P I chose the Scubapro inflator integrated model. I prefer not having the extra hose.
JON H It depends on the kind of diving you want to do, how you like to have your gear set up, and the price you want to pay. I personally have a Zeagle Ranger Ltd. BCD, and my preference is to eliminate as many hoses as possible. So, I have the Zeagle Octo-Z. It works great for me, but, if I were you, I'd talk to someone knowledgeable about your specific needs and priorities and go from there.
Mike E I'm a DM so I dive a lot in warm water. My current regulator breathes "wet" especially upside down which I don't like at all - if I want a "salty" taste I drink Margaritas. The first review indicated the A700 breathes "surprisingly wet" which to them was a plus ... any comments on this?
KELLEY A The regulator breathes fine and dry, even inverted. Enjoy!
JIM O I recently purchased the MK25/A700. I spent a week diving in Bonaire and found the A700 easy to adjust and very comfortable. I did not experience any "wetness" including while swimming upside down. I would not hesitate to recommend the A700.
JOE T Will be making my first trip to Grand Cayman in April . Can tell you
then . At this point I have just been setting it up . Sorry I could not be
of more help .
Joe Taylor
STEVE E Sorry, Mike. I have never experienced diving 'wet' so I don't really understand what you mean. I can tell you that I dove about 50 dives in water no warmer than 55 degrees (Channel Islands) all the way down to 34 degrees (various lakes in MT). Recently, a friend suggested I quit risking a potential free flow with the open MK25 in our cold waters so I got an MK17 and another A700 for my primary and moved my MK25 and the other A700 to the secondary.
I have yet to dive tropical so I don't really know anything about wet dives.
DAVID L I love mine. I have never experienced "wet" breathing with it. My DM has me blowing "air rings" upside down and no prob from the reg. (my air rings are not so good :)
HUY D Never had a problem breathing wet. I have had this regulator on over 300 dives and I still love how it is.
FRANKLIN M does not let water in in any circumstance. wet refering to moisture, condinsation, no dry mouth. like an old chrome reg from the 1970's. very nice reg.
JON H Hi, Mike. I meant that because the reg doesn't have some of the features that some others do that are designed to get moisture into the reg, and yet I haven't coughed on it, yet.
Definitely no virgin margaritas, though.
MICHAEL P I haven't had any issues with this. My only complaint is the stiffness of the air hose, it does push the reg fairly hard. I am going to get a more supple hose.
Shopper Is DIN type purchased?
GEORGE K No, it was YOKE type.
DANIEL V Living in the US I purchased the yoke style. Almost all dive centers on this side of the globe use yoke. If you are to buy a DIN and you do most of your diving in the Americas/Caribbean you will need to buy the DIN/Yoke converter as well.
JOSEPH S The MK25/700A was not offered with DIN, I purchased the DIN converter and requested it to be installed before shipping.
JUSTIN C they make din but the one i bought is yoke style
Ahmad H Hello there, i just want to ask comparation between ScubaPro A700 and Atomic T2X?? hope someone can give me some advise.
COPIOUS C sorry....i just got into diving and bought scuba pro becuz it was recommended highly by a couple friends of mine.
that's all i can tell ya.
woody
TAE H I bought A700 about a month ago and i love it
I do not know mich about T2x but you will have
No problem with A700 when you go deep diving.
I felt really comfortable and safe when i went down to
155 feet with A700. And what else do i need to say about
This brilliant regulator.
Prasad P Hi. Finally decided to purchase this. Does it come with a regulator bag?
Also I'm picking up the R295 as my Octo...does that come with the Scubapro Octopus Holder I've seen on the SimplyScuba videos?
ANTHONY C It does not come with a regulator bag and I doubt the Octo comes with a holder.
STEVE E Hi Prasad. Glad you got this combination. You will not regret it. I have had several divers here in MT recently warn me that it is only a matter of time until my open primary (MK25) freezes and free flows in this 39 degree water. Hasn't happened yet in 100', heavy breathing dives. (I did order an R17 to split my Octo to a pony tank since I do quite a bit of solo diving).
My MK25/A700 did not come with a regulator bag. I wrap the reg set in my BCD or wetsuit for local travel. For air travel, I use the maximum size carry on to pack my BCD, regs, mask and computer (must haves in my opinion). A dedicated regulator bag would serve me no purpose.
I bought the R395 Octo from another on-line vendor. It came with a holder/plug. It works well for me. From the reviews on Leisure Pro, it appears to include one as well but it is not mentioned under the "includes" tab.
Frankly, I may look for another Octo soon. After very cold diving, if I activate depress my purge button on my R395, I get an unstopable free flow. This does not happen before the dive--even in 13 degree air temp. Neither does it ever happen on the A700.
Hope this helps.
Steve
Prasad P Hey Steve, thanks so much! I've decided on a MK25/A700 with a C200 Octo. Can't wait to get em and start diving! =)
CesarRivera C What the differences between C300 and A700 ?
JOHN D I've been a diver for over 36 years and hold numerous certifications and Instructor levels from leisure diving to advanced Public Safety Instructor/Instructor Trainer. I have always "purchased SCUBAPRO with the exception of communication systems and full-faced positive pressure systems. The C300 is an excellent second stage when paired with the MK25 first stage. I love the new 700 reg, though heavier, it works at 20 feet or 200 feet even better. I have over 6,000 dives and was pleased when this reg came out . Nostalgia I guess, with smaller and more refined features. I have NEVER had a malfunction with my regs, due in part to SCUBAPRO!
I have been , I guess you could say "CHALLENGED" having dove in Public Safety , blackwater diving and commercial work so long!
The C300 is an excellent reg depending on your type of diving. We'll talk more, assured! Not employed, but LEISURE PRO ROCKS!!!!
STEVEN G Cesar,
I never looked into the C300 very much. Hoever, I believe the difference is the material construction and pressure differentials in the second stage.
Steve
CARL B Check scubapro's web site but the difference that I see the 700 has more metal that allows it to work better in cold water
JUSTIN C I would go with 600 are A700. You get what you pay for. The MK25 is the top dog. MK 17 is more cold water.
You tube has good info by Simply Scuba.
CesarRivera C Thanks JUSTIN
manolis p Which Reg. do you recommend ?
MK25/C300, MK25/S600 or MK25/A700
And why ?
WILLIAM F Those are all great breathing regs I have the s600 and the a700 both paired w/ mk 25s and love them both. I dive cold, deep water in michigan and have never had any problems.
STEVE E Manolis,
Obviously, we both agree the MK25 is the best first stage regulator. I wanted a second stage that was adjustable and near top of the line (no sputtered Ti for me). I like my A700. I can only comment about a friend that has the S600 and he likes it as well. Can't go wrong with any of these.
Shopper Is this yoke or DIN?
LeisurePro S This regulator comes with the yoke connection. The DIN version of the MK25/A700 can be found here.

Whats in the box:1st Stage, 2nd Stage, LP Hose, FREE Scubapro Tech Bag SCUBAPRO has been the leader in the evolution of piston controlled first stages since its beginning; the MK25 carries on this heritage with an array of patented features ensuring unfailing performance. The MK25 is a balanced piston first stage, our absolutetop performer. It is a superior regulator thanks to its ultra stable intermediate pressure resulting in an extremely punctual and constantly high delivery of air. This means instant airflow at any tank pressure and water temperature for a real carefree dive. Air balanced flow-through piston- First stages with air balanced pistons deliver significantly more air to the second stage than anyother first stage, while their performance is totally unaffected by the changing tank pressure. A balanced piston allows the use of lighter and more sensitive components, resulting in ultra fast breathing response, instant delivery of air on demand, and extra highair flow, especially in low tank pressure ranges. The tired diver benefits from a smoother breathing regulator during the ascent or deco stop. Balanced piston first stages are the first choice of demanding sport divers and professionals. A balanced piston performsequally in warm and cold water environments. Two opposite high pressure ports- The arrangement of high and low pressure hoses is crucial to diving comfort. Two opposite high pressure ports allow for an individual positioning of the first stage (pointing up or down). This allows the diver to position the gauges either on the right or left side and increases the freedom of movement for head and neck. Multiple low pressure ports- For ultimate freedom in the arrangement of low pressure hoses, the MK25 accommodates five HF (high flow) ports on a swiveling turret, which allows for 360 degree swivel of hoses. High flow ports deliver about 15% more air than conventional ports. Externally adjustable intermediate pressure- Allows authorized SCUBAPRO service technicians to quickly finetune and adjusts the first stage after maintenance without the need to disassemble it. Cold Water Diving With SCUBAPRO-Diving conditions can be drastically different, including extreme cold water and outside temperatures, posing the possibility of a regulator "freezing". Therefore, resistance to freezing is imperative for the diver. All SCUBAPRO regulator systems are CE approved for 4300psi cold water diving. Some models go even beyond this super stringent qualification and have successfully been tested in extreme cold diving conditions at less than 36°F. As a specific anti-freezing measure, SCUBAPRO engineers have designed a patented finned cap for the MK25 first stages for optimal cold water diving. The ribs act as a radiator to increase the surface area of heat transfer from the water to warm up the internal parts that have been drastically cooled down by the gas pressure drop. SCUBAPRO has once again raised the bar for regulator performance with the introduction of the A700 second stage. It is truly the crown jewel of the SCUBAPRO regulator line. The A700 delivers extraordinary breathing performance in a striking, precision-handcrafted, full metal design. Whatever your dive destination, the SCUBAPRO A700 lets you breathe effortlessly and naturally underwater for a lifetime of exceptional dive experiences. Product Videos:
