Shopper I'm trying to decide what to get. Why did you pick this one? I see the MK17/c300 well-reviewed, but no longer listed on the ScubaPro website. They now pair the MK11/C300 and MK17/A700. Any ideas?
JOSEPH B I bought it because I have had previous experience with Scubapro and because it has a predive setting to prevent freeflowing. I also like the fact that you can adjust the breathing resistance. I felt it was a good value. After using it, I am very satisfied with my purchase.
ANDREW T I dive as part of my employment and use the scubapro Mk25/s600. I like that setup but was unable to afford it as my personal reg set so after reading a bunch of reviews I went with the mk17/c300. I recently took the reg set on a three day dive trip to Florida and used it on dives from 30 feet on reefs to 110 feet on wrecks. I was somewhat disappointed in the reg set. My main complaint was about a whistle sound the reg set made occasionally during the dive. After searching the web other individuals reported having the same problem. According to the sites I visited scubapro is unaware of the cause of the problem. I have not brought my set in yet to my LDC to have them look at it since its under warranty, so I don't know first hand if the problem is fixable. I also noticed the set wasnt as easy breathing as my work set, which was another disappointment. I have read the c200 got even better reviews and iff I could I would have bought that set up instead. The mk17 seems good, but I don't know if there would be any real difference between the 11 vs 17.
LOUIS B The MK17/C300 was a less-expensive, but comparable alternative to using the same regulator for a primary (MK25/S600) and an alternate air source (pony tank); already had a ScubaPro octopus.
I probably bought one of the last remaining MK17/C300's from LeisurePro before they went out-of-stock.
MICHAEL K I have been using ScubaPro for years and their products have served me well. I mostly dive shallow (less than 30 feet) and comparing all of the features or lack of, I went with this setup. I dont know why they discontinued the combo, perhaps they are just changing things around on their end (coming out with new products). New is not always better though. I can tell you if you are able to get this combo, go for it, as I have been using it for a while now with no issues for the type of diving I do.
SCOTT B I left it up to them... The people at Leisure Pro know better than me.
