Shopper Is there a belt loop or something to attach this to yourself?
I wan't to take a PLB down with me Scuba Diving. The PLB can only stay down deep for a short time unless it's enclosed.
GEORGE S There is one slot and one hole which allows a key ring as well a a belt clip. I use a key ring and lanyard to attach the #8000 to my a larger ring on my BCD and then tuck it into my BCD pocket. I carry a older spot device in mine. It has a little extra room so I use some foam to cushion it, but even the newer smaller spot device will not fit in a smaller Otter Box. It has worked well for me and has created no bouyancy issues.
JEFFREY S It does come with a standard size belt clip (might be best attached to a strap on your BC as opposed to a weight belt as its not that large). It also has a lanyard attached that you could secure to a belt clip (though I would suspect it would want to float unless your PLB is heavy).
GERALD W There is an external clip to attach to a belt. However, I am not certain whether the box would remain water tight at depth.
KENNETH W It has a flimsy plastic belt clip. You cannot use the belt clip for diving solely unless you want to lose your PLB. I tried that but also clipped it on the string It kept coming off and dangling.
However, I bought a belt friendly pouch/pocket that the Otter box fits in nicely and have taken my handheld vhf and gps down to 90 feet or so on maybe 15-20 dives. So far no leaks. I think that the more stuff you cram into the Otter the less air there is to compress and the deeper it can go safely.
I am very happy with it.
Good luck.
HARRY O There is a clip on the back of the otterbox that will attach to a 2" web band such as a tank band.
