Questions about this item:
Shopper would you choose this computer over the aeris epic v2 or the elite t3?
TODD D I haven't used either the Aeris or the Elite, but I love the VT3. The price right now is really good. I would defiantly buy another VT3.
RANDY M I am not familiar with the Epic V2. To the best of my knowledge the Aeris Elite T3 is the exact same computer as the Oceanic VT3. The only differnce is the display format. Controls, functions, features, transmitter are all the same. Hope this helps. BTW, I have about 50 dives on my VT3 now. It is the best dive computer I have ever owned. Worst part on it was the strap...replaced it with a retractor and clipped it to my BC. Much better!
CHRIS P Absolutely. When purchased with a manufacturers warranty I got a replacement for free when I had some digital readout issues after 5 yrs of extensive use while working at a dive shop (about 15 dives a month in pool/ocean). That was the only issue. Def get the transmitter too. I'm thinking about getting my wife one now so we can see eachothers air.
EDWARD K Yes i would choose this same computer again. Over 200 dives of flawless performance and large display if mine ever dies (which is very unlikely ) i would buy the very same one.
GORDON S I have no info on the Aeris Eipc or the Elite T3.
However, I can say that the oceanic VT3 does everything without a hitch.......easy to read dial, easy to scan thru the menu items, and reliable.
Both my wife and I use a VT3. We can monitor each other's air, but, for us, I'm the determining factor because she uses much less air than I do.
Anyway, we bought the VT3's becasue they were easy to use and easy to read underwater.
SCOTT B Aeris and oceanic are the same company. Oceanic was started by bob Hollis. Check oh Hollis scuba. Anyway I love my VT3. Works great. You really cannot go wrong with it. Super easy to use. I like the oceanic brand so much I also bought an oceanic veo 3.0 as a back up.
Shopper how is the pc interface on this computer?
BRIAN H A little bit finicky at first, much like my last Oceanic, but I'm quite happy with it now. The ocean log software has come a long way from where it was several years ago. I only wish they'd do a Mac compatible version...
IVO B Could be better, the software seems very old and it is impossible the change the units to meters, also it is not intuitive on the data managing.
JOE B It works well. I have two, one for me and one for my wife, and when I tried to save the second computer's information, it did not save, so I did something wrong. I have not had time to try again, but if you only have one, I know it will be easy to learn and use.
GERALD S USB connection to PC connected right up. Read the support for the correct USB driver for your OS and it connects right up. Oceanic dive log is a good program. Easy to setup and use. I haven't use a log book since I purchased the VT3 combo. I rate it a 4 out of 5 only because of the export feature. No export ALL dives to a single xlsx. But yes I like it.
ROBERT B The interface is simple plug & play on Windows. It is easlily installed and works well. The software cold be a little bit better in allowing more defaults, i.e., if you make say 25 dives in Bonaire, be more time-saving not to have to re--enter the much of the data over and over.
This comes with a specialized interface cable (USB), the end going into the dive computer is proprietory...at least I have never seen one like it. So I would be carelful not to lose track of it
Be sure to take advantage of the online class and you can watch and do at the same time. It sure beats trying to read the manual.
I have made about 50 dives over last two years and no battery replacement.
DIANNE C Dear Shopper,
I have the VT4 but Iknow that the software is the same since I have upgraded from a VTPro from over 5 years ago. There is a learning curve but the reason I use it is to get some hidden information that the "Log" screens don't show you (i.e. graphs, rates, depths ect). I disigned my custom dive log pages to record the information that I want on paper from what the software provides. I do use the backup feature though.
I have found that at least with my unit, I cannot connect the unit via the UBS while the wrist computer is at all wet, the VT will not go into PC mode, but if you are able to dry it or wait then it will work. I did also have to - at first - reinstall the driver for the unit a couple of times.
Since I have figured this all out I have not been frustrated and become more relaxed about getting that day's dives out.
FYI- I have mine set at 2 sec intervals which records about 8 dives (at average 60 minutes each).
Happy Diving!
JOHN G I was upgraded to the VT 4 when I ordered this. The computer interface was fine. I used it when I first got the computer. I have not used it since. I found the computer hard to learn and had to use the free online help. Also the strap latch has broken. Tech support by Oceanic is excellent. Keep your receipt from Leisure pro.
SHARON A Ok computer. Not too simple at first. The band has broken on three different models. It's alright overall, I'd choose a different computer if i could again though
MICHAEL P The computer interface is straightforward and works well. The installation of the software was easy. I like the ability to graph the dives and the amount of data that can be entered for each dive is excellent.
CLAYTON A Sorry, just got it for Christmas , and have not used it yet
PAUL D I use a Mac OSX computer to download and manage my dives. This program syncs with my iPhone app made by the same company. Beyond a Mac, I can only say my PC friends use programs and drivers that come with or are downloadable from manufacture.
Shopper does this computer have air time remaining feature?
BRADLEY M Sure does as long as connected to transmitter.
JAMES J Yes. Like the Pro Plus consol, and, I suppose, like virtually all air-integrated computers. There is a very small icon showing which calculation is being shown (air-time or NDC time.)
Note that the wrist unit can and does lose the signal from the pressure transducer transmitter; it will alert you that the signal is lost and revert to showing dive time remaining based on nitrogen loading.
In my experience, this happens on most dives, but the connection is restored fairly quickly and easily by repositioning your wrist.
CHAD J Yes it does it's an awesome dive computer
TRICIA R Of course it displays air time remaining; it is a full-service computer. Easy to use and sophisticated.
JESSE M Yes, the time left is the lower of ATR, No-Deco and O2 Toxicity
SCOTT S Yes it does calculate air time remaining (ATR) based on your rate of breathing and air consumption. Overall, the computer is fantastic and really simple to use-from the initial set up to it's use underwater. Good diving and be safe!
DAVE V Yes. I have been very pleased with this computer and transmitter....great value for the price. I have two and paid more and felt it was a good value. Good luck.
HOPE M Hi Fellow Diver,
I just returned from 27 dives with this computer in the Exumas Bahamas and I love it. It shows Air time remaining which I grew to Love on my long shallow dives.
Happy Diving,
Hope
CHARLES L Yes, it does. The display will always show the limiting factor. NDL, O2 clock, or air time, whichever is most restrictive at the time.
Shopper Can I use this as a wrist watch too?
CHAD J You can....but its way bigger then a normal watch...I would, go with an atom 2 if you want a smaller one you can use as a watch also
RICKY R No... The face is entirely to big to use as a normal watch. The oceanic OC1 is a lot smaller
GERALD N It's too big for that! Looking for a great watch? Get a Citizen ECO drive.
CHARLES L I suppose you could but it's awfully big for an everyday wristwatch. I'm pretty sure you'd get tired of the weight quickly.
JANINE G ...If you want to look like a crazy person! Waaaay too large and not very stylish, bulky band, etc...
It is a DIVE watch, a great one, but a DIVE watch.
SCOTT S It's fairly large to use as an everyday wristwatch, but a perfect computer for underwater. If you're looking for a double duty computer, I suggest you consider the Atom, which has the same features as the VT3 but is wristwatch size. Hope this helps.
SCOTT S It's fairly large to wear as a wristwatch but perfect underwater. If you're looking for a double duty computer, I suggest you look at the Atom. Hope this helps.
FRANK W It has the time but I would certainly not use it as a watch.
Bruce H Several people have complained about the software being poor going back to 2010. My question is have they upgraded their software and does anybody have any comments on it user interface, either positive or negative?
GERALD N Bruce: I've never used the software. Frankly, I just log all of my dives in a dive book. The VT3 is a great computer.
G
CHARLES L Do be perfectly honest, no they haven't upgraded it. The bundled software with pretty much every dive computer (Oceanic or otherwise) is pretty poor. If you're really serious about logging your dives and need full-feature software then 3rd party is where you want to look. There are a few available that are pretty comprehensive.
JOHN S The software if poor, but the unit is good. the manual is poorly written but one you learn all the features, it is great. i have over 200 dives with mine with one battery change!
Shopper Are you sure, cause I don't want water breaking it?
EDWARD L I have been extremely happy with my VT3 computer. I have travelled all over Asia and it has withstood everything. Water will not break it. It also comes in a neat little plastic box that protects it when it's not in use.
CHRIS P I've been using it for about 5 yrs now and never had an issue like that. Max depth was 151 ft.
AMORY F Mine and my wife's have worked well so far, approximately 40 dives each. No flooding yet.
BERNHARD L sure about what? please ask a legitimate question.
TERRY M If it is the data port. I have dove 65 times with mine. No problems AT ALL.
TERRY M I cannot see the previous question.... And do not remember the response.
I have had (2) VT3s for 4 years and had no issues and multiple dives. I am going to Bonaire in a month for more diving.
I am not sure what the question or what you mean "don't want water breaking it"?
SCOTT B I have a VT3 and it is awesome. Give me a call and I will be happy to tell you about it.
Scott

KARIM S Are you worried about the port used to connect to the computer ? In my experience , I had no issues with water intrusions. After the dive I just download the data. I hope this answered your question.
HEATHER B It's an awesome computer. Just be careful as you would with any other computer and don't bang it around and drop gear in general.
Shopper Is it waterproof?
Samer D i liked the question
JESSE M Seriously? It's a dive computer, of course it's waterproof!
CHAD J Lol r u serious? It's a dive computer. Ofcourse it's waterproof... Duh?
CHARLES L Do not feed the trolls.
PAUL E Yes it is. Done many dives with it and it works flawlessly. I'd never go back to a hose style computer..
BRADLEY M It's a dive computer, what do you think?
KAMAL H Yes. This has been used up to depths of 120ft without no leakage at all even after battery replacement. When you do replace batteries, it is recommended that the washer seal also be replaced. The transmitter is also fully water proof up to the same depth.
Shopper If I get 2 of these can we sync the each transmitter to both computer? Thanks!
JOHN S My dive buddy and I both have them and we can read each others pressure any time that we are within 2 feet of each other.
Therese A Awesome! Thanks!
JOHN T Your local dive shop will have the answer and give yoy the support that these guys will not.
SCOTT S I believe you can, provided you enter both of the transmitters' serial numbers into each one of the watches. Remember, though, that your watch should be programmed for "self" for your air supply and your buddy's should be programmed for bud. And for his watch, the reverse, so your psi is displayed without confusing it with his/hers. This is important to remember and is pretty well outlined in the manual.
Also, the range is somewhere about 6-8 feet or so.
You're really going to love the VT3 and wonder why you haven't gone hoseless a long time ago.
Be safe!
Pat B Are the Oceanic VT3 and the Aeris T3 (and I think there is even a Hollis model) the same computers?? Do they use the same algorithms to calculate bottom times? I own the Aeris 500AI and want to stay with a computer that has similar bottom times.
JACOB W Yes, the Oceanic VT3 and the Aeris T3 are the same computers with different aesthetics; they use the same algorithms. As for the Hollis model, I cannot say.
STEVE C Oceanic and Aeris are sister companies, as far aas I know they use the same algorithms.
MELVIN E B Greetings, Great question and way beyond my knowledge, sorry. Suggest you e-mail or call OCEANIC. I do like my VT3 hoseless.......safe diving,
Regards........Mel B
SCOTT B Aeris and Oceanic are basically the same company. I cannot speak tithe Hollos model. That being said I have the Oceanic and decided on it due to it's vast array of features, ability to run multiple tanks, and size. No regrets great model and super pricing through leisure pro. Call if you have specific questions
Scott

ALLYSON S Yes, the Oceanic Vt3 and the Aeris T3 from what I can tell are essentially the same computer or at least the same algorithm set. I dive daily and those who dive with me that have the Aeris T3 have the same dive profile at the end of the dive that I have. I dive deep and we come close to Deco most dives and I when I check those with the Aeris, we have the same time remaining. I can also link up with Aeris users to monitor their air consumption as well. I have been very satisfied with my VT3, especially the algorithm profile. It is not as conservative as other brands, while still safe.
Pat B Allyson,
Did you notice if one of these was easier to read? ( I am now to that point that I am looking for those stick on magnifiers to put in my mask. I would like to avoid that if either the Oceanic or Aeris has big enough numbers to read with out +1.5 magnification.) Specifically, when in deco, is one easier to read than the other? On my Aeris 500AI when I enter deco the symbols and numbers are pretty small. I dive a lot of deco with a slung deco tank.
Thank you for you responses! Pat
Shopper How far does this computer pick up your buddy transmitter?
JAMES J If you're asking so that you can check your buddy's tank pressure, I did try this once. You'd have to be buddy breathing or otherwise very close. It was more hassle than it's worth.
If you asking if the device would pick up the wrong tank, then no worries: each transmitter has a unique serial # and you must program them in and select the tank you want.
DAVE V I have not used the buddy feature. I did pick up a second VT3 but my son and I have not had occasion to use them together yet. I have had my first VT3 for about 5 years and have found it to be an excellent computer. I liked it enough to purchase a second unit.
Sorry I cannot answer the exact question.
joshua g I was wondering if I should buy a additional transmitter to keep track of my wife air psi after reading that it temporary loses your own signal from time to time
EDWARD K It works within approx 6 to 8 ft after that transmitter may loose signal momentarily until back in range. I love my vt3 about 140 dives not even one problem.
TERRY M Not totally sure actually. I have used that feature once or twice and we were within 40 feet. I believe. But I really don't use that anymore. I use the system which is awesome just not the buddy Air.
BRANDON R It's hard to say. I've only used it for me.
Mike M I am looking at buying the VT3 but before I do, can someone tell me if it has a temp gauge for water temp and air temp?
SHERRIE F Yes. It gives you both water and air temperature.
DEREK E Hey Mike,
yes, the VT3 tells you water temp. It takes time to settle to actual, but it works very well. I don't use the VT3 to tell me surface temp, but of course it supports that.
Hope that helps!
Derek...
JOHN T Do not buy from leisure pro!
Support you local dive store.
TRICIA R yes, it does, and works very well.
KONSTANTIN T Yes it has water/air temperature sensor.
MURRAY A It definitely measures the water temperature. Unfortunately, I have never paid attention as to whether or not it shows the air temperature during the surface intervals.
Hope this helps.
Murray
Mike M Hi Murray,
Thanks for the quick response
Shopper Comparing to suunto D4i , which one should I go for ? And why ? Thanks
RANDY M I have no experience with the Sunnto unit. I have logged 5 dives with the Oceanic VT3 and it does everything very well. I found the manual focused more towards technical diving, such as deco dives, which I do not do. The multi gas mix feature will help on the occaisions I do deeper dives and change mixes from dive to dive. My normal dive profile is very conservative (35 min dives in 35-60') and RGB Algorithm used by the VT3 seems to work excell in that profile. The transmitter is great. Has not lost signal yet. I am buying the retractor kit for it. The wrist location does not suit me like I thought it would. It comes with an excellent case and the plastic face protectors are readily availble at most dive shops. I would not buy a computer that does not allow for user battery replacement. Replacement on this one is simple, battery is a normal type available everywhere and I keep a spare vacum wrapped in my dive bag. Hope this helps and is not too late a response.
TERRY F I bought the VT3 and love it. If you take the online course offered through LP it makes everything a lot easier. I can program my dive plan when setting up on the boat and just switch from plan to plan while other people are messing around with theirs during surface time. I dont know enough about the Suunto to say which is better bettween the 2 but I would actually compare it to an UWATEC to be honest. The best user friendly air intergrated I have used. Buy it you will see!
RICKY R I found that the oceanic computers are a little more aggressive than all suunto computers giving u more time before deco. If your buddies dive with suunto, keep it simliar because u will always dive to the least aggressive computer
GORDON S This was/is my second VT3 computer. The first one I purchased for my wife, and the following year I purchased the second one. I did not compare the VT3 to Suunto, because I wanted the VT3 for 3 reasons:
1. It allowed for both me and my wife to monitor each other's air supply, and
2. It had a really good reputation in the industry when I purchased the first VT3 from my dive shop.
3. The VT3 has easy to read numbers, even under water, and, I can even hear the warning beeps under water
We replace the batteries (watch & transmitter) annually when we have our regulators serviced by our dive shop. This comes from experience when we failed to have the battery replaced in one of our dive computers and we were not able to get any replacement batteries anywhere on the island where we were diving.
The only thing you have to monitor is when a dive buddy or ship hand grabs your vest with tank & regulator attached, that they do NOT use the transmitter as a convenient handle.........which I've seen people do to others'.
Carlos Eduardo D Can I set it to bar and meters?
SHANNON G Yes. This PDC supports Metric and Imperial units.
JD W Yes bar meters and celcius. Very nice to have only 2 hoses. Get an air source 3 also for your BC too
ROBERT M Yes. You can change the Units from PSI,F,Ft to Bar, C, and M.
MURRAY A Yes, you can set the dive computer to bars and meters. Either you set it to Imperial units or Metric units.
Shopper Does this computer have an integrated compass?
PETER J No integrated compass. I bought a separate one.
STEVE D No, you would have to get the VT4 to get the integrated compass.
RUTH T no it does not. it has everything but...
MATTHEW E No, it does not.
TERRY F No it does not. There is a retractable set up that can be purchased (this is what I use) .
CHRISTOPHER D no it does not. but still a great dive computer for the price.
CHRIS P No, not this particular computer. I do highly recommend tho. I'm a padi instructor and navy diver and I use it on rec dives all the time with air or nitrox, and with my buddy who also has one so we watch each others gas.
JOHN C No this computer does not have an integrated compass.
JESSE M No, the VT4 does but not the VT3
TJ T Will the computer still function normally without using the hoseless air monitoring function? I ask because there may be dive trips when i wouldnt want to bring all my gear and would only want to use this as a typical computer instead of a hoseless... I am assuming that it will fuction either way.
HAROLD H Yes, the computer will work as normal dive computer if the transmitter signal is not found
JEFF M Yes, you can use it without the transceiver, it has all its capabilities except air pressure display.
GERALD S yes. just no psi readings.
ALLYSON S Yes, it will operate as a regular dive computer. This unit is available with or without the transmitter and is just a matter of setting your prefrences on the unit.
MELVIN E B Sorry, unable to answer. Thanks for asking...............Happy Holidays...Melvin E
EDWARD K I don't believe It will work without the transmitter that is attached to the first stage to send info to the info to the computer ,however the other features should work if the computer is placed in free dive mode. I hope this helpful. I love my vt3 after 150 dives it has always performed flawlessly.
TANYA S Yes, it functions as a free dive computer as well......great computer!
PAUL D Yes, the computer will operate as normal without the transmitter.
Brian H does this have a user replaceable battery ?
JASON H Yes it does have a user replacable battery.
TRANSPORT D Brian, it is "user replaceable", but in all honesty, I had a very difficult time. If you don't use silicone, it is impossible. Be sure to read the instructions carefully!
BRYAN K Yes, it's very simple to replace.
SCOTT B Yes it is easy to change battery
DAVID J Yes....The dive computer and.transmitter have user replaceable battery's that are easy to replace.
MICHAEL R Yes, the battery is replaceable. It is located on the back of the "watch" and a simple replacement.
TODD D Yes, it comes with a tool to change it on the computer. The transmitter battery can be changed with a coin while still staying attached to your first stage.
ROSS C Yes but you have to replace it quickly or you lose your saved data
FRANK W Yes. One of our 2 VT3s is over 2 years old and still has the original battery.
We dive about 80 dives a year and the battery is still going strong.
AMORY F Yes, both the transmitter and computer batteries are easily replaced.
Tom D I am considering buying this computer even though it is not the newest generation. A few questions. Does the computer tell you how much air is in the tank while you are still on the boat? I have heard this can be a problem with some hoseless computers. How often does the computer and transmitter lose a signal? How often do you have to change the computer and transmitter batteries. Any other problems?
CHARLES L Of course it'll show you tank pressure while you're still on the boat. I have no idea where Derek came up with this idea that it doesn't. I've never seen any dive computer from any manufacturer not show you the tank pressure while you're on the boat. That's just nonsense.
Tom D Thanks to everyone for your time and answers. I will definately be purchasing the VT3. Tom
DANIEL W As long as your regulator is on the tank and open and you are close by, it will show the psi. If you walk away for a while, you will just have to press one button on the face when you go near your transmitter to reaquire the psi reading.
I haven't had any problems with the transmitter losing the computer while diving.
Battery life depends on how much you use it. For an average diver it should last a season at least.
No complaints with this computer.
FRANK W Yes it tells you tank pressure when you are on the boat. The computer and tank unit rarely loose signal. My wife has had one for 2 years and never lost signal. My wife's 2 year old one still has the original batteries and we dive about 60 dives a year.
SCOTT S I have about 20 dives logged with my VT3 and it has performed flawlessly. I have never had an issue with it not showing how much air I have both on the boat or during a dive. I have never lost the signal during a dive either but, as I said, I've only logged about 20 dives with it. I haven't changed the batteries yet. I keep spare transmitter and receiver batteries in my dive bag, as they are user replaceable.
Overall, the computer has been fantastic and Oceanic's customer service is outstanding.. I have 2 other Oceanics, an Atom 2.0 and a Veo 100 nx, and they have proven to be flawless over the past several years.
I would definitely recommend you buy the VT3.
LAURA H I have not had any issues and love this unit. Had it a couple of years and have to change the battery. Yes it does give you how much air is in the tank as soon as you turn the unit on.
GREGORY K Yes, it does tell you how much air is in the tank when you are on the boat, as long as you have the transmitter enabled. The one gotcha on that is, if you don't enable the transmitter before you get in the water, you can't enable it after you are already in the water. I have not had the transmitter lose signal at all while in use, maybe if the batteries started getting low or something I could see this happening more. The manual has information on where to best mount the transmitter to get the best signal if you have multiple ports to choose from on your regulator. I have had mine for two years and haven't changed the batteries yet. They do however recommend that you change them every year. I just carry spare batteries in my dive bag for when they do get low. I am happy with it, no problems beyond forgetting to turn my transmitter on once.
DEREK E Hey Tom,
I've used the VT3 since 2007 and have 500 dives on one of these. I have no complaints and the VT3 has always been easy to use. The computer does not measure presure outside of water, at least mine does not. However, you would always want a basic hose SPG anyway on you. I never have transmitter loss issues underwater. Only one time when I let the batteries get low did I see a signal issue. I dive over a 100 times a year, so I just make it a habit to change the batteries once a year. I have seen ocasional partial pressure errors with nitrox, but my firmware is down rev, so it could have been resolved. The price is so good on the VT3 now I've considered buying another one!
Tom D Enter your reply here. We'll email it to DEREK
John H Can the vt3 calculate how much air is being used into mins on the size of 80 tank?
CHRIS L Yes. During a dive the VT3 will calculate "air time remaining" in minutes based on your recent (average over the previous 90 seconds) breathing rate. This calculation tracks the drop in tank pressure so it doesn't matter what size tank you are using. By default, this calculation includes time to ascend from depth, a 3 minute safety stop, and surfacing with 500 psi.
After a dive, the OceanLog PC software can be used to download and save dive info from the VT3. OceanLog has a calculation for SAC rate for the overall dive. That calculation is dependent on tank size. Knowing your typical SAC rate range can be useful in planning dives.
John H Thank you, Chris :)
Sharon H Is there a way to ensure the computer stays in dive mode only? It entered into free dive mode as i was descending on a recent dive trip.
BRADLEY M I have about 100 dives on my VT3 and have never experienced that probelm. If it happend only once then may be the result of you accidently hitting a button, but if it has happend numerous times may be a malfunction. The only "problem" I have notied is that it will shutoff after I set up my gear if we have a long boat ride to the dive site. Try calling Oceanic directly, they were always helpful when I have called in the past. Diver4121.
KEVIN C Sounds like user error. Mine always stays in whichever mode I leave it in (dive, gauge, or free dive ). It could be possible you never set it in dive mode properly, so it defaulted back to it's previous setting. Has this happened more then once?
Sharon H It has happened twice but I have only dove with it a few times and it could very well be user error! I will read up on it right before my next trip. Thank you.
SCOTT S I have only dove with the VT3 about a dozen times and haven't experienced it switching from dive mode into another mode.
I don't think, as far as I know, there's a way to switch it out of dive or free dive mode during a dive.
I would, if I were you, contact Oceanic customer service and explain what happened. They are awesome, by the way. I wouldn't be surprised if they swapped it out for a brand new one.
Otherwise, my VT3 has been flawless and I've been very pleased with it.
Sorry I couldn't be much more help.
Sharon H Can I call Oceanic customer service even though I bought the computer through leisure pro?
SCOTT S Absolutely. Leisure Pro is an authorized Oceanic dealer. Leisure Pro is another awesome company. I buy most of my stuff from them.
Leisure Pro's policy is such that they will take returns up to a certain amount of time (30 or 60 days I think).
I suggest you call Oceanic and let them send you a new unit. They are fantastic.
DAVID B THe computer should never enter free dive mode once it is set to air or nitrox,if it can change to freedive mode on its own it is virtually worthless as a dive computer.
JAMES J I've never had this happen. Could a button have been pressed accidentally before or during entry? I know you can't change it once in the water -- I left mine on gage only once, and didn't realize it until underwater. Sorry, all I can offer.
Sharon H It definitely could have happened but not intentionally. I am new to this computer and still learning it. It worked great majority of the dive trip until the last day; I hope I pushed a button and that is all! My old computer went into dive mode as soon as wet (I did turn that feature on).
Shopper is there a down option on the computer?
TRANSPORT D Not sure what your question is "is there a DOWN OPTION on the computer?" WHat do you refer to when you say "DOWN OPTION"
CLARK L What is a down option?
DEREK E I've been using a single VT3 for over 400 dives now and the unit works very good. However, I'm not sure what you mean by "Down Option". If you can explain maybe I can answer this for you.
SHERRIE F Sorry. Not sure what a "down option" is. Can you be supply more detail?
LAURIE M I don't understand your question. What do you mean by a 'down' option?
Shopper Does this have a compass feature?
LeisurePro S Sorry, the VT3 does not have a compass. Here is the traditional compass add-on for the VT3.
Shopper What battery does the transmitter use?
Shopper Is the display back lit?
LeisurePro S Yes, the VT3 has a back light.
Shopper Can you change from Imperial to metric system on this computer?
LeisurePro S Yes, units are set by the user.
Shopper The VT3 works both with Air and Nitrox, right?
LeisurePro S Yes, this computer has four modes (Air, Nitrox, Gauge, and Free Dive).
Shopper Can this computer be used on non-nitrox dives?
LeisurePro S Yep! The VT3 acts simply as an air computer until you tell it otherwise.
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
FEDERICO D Seemed like a great concept, but I couldn't get it to work. Tech manuals were not written very well. Ended up sending it back.
TERRY F Price, Reviews, and Ease
ROBERT B My older Scubatec one had played out. Wanted wireless air-integrated and this looked good. After using, very well pleased. Batteries can be changed out by diver...so less service cost expense over time.
DEREK E Reliable dive computer that I have over 400 dives on now.
BARBARA S This is just too cool - We're down to two hoses and with the XS flex hoses packing is a breeze. No more four hoses for us!

Whats in the box:Online Class, Dive Computer, Transmitter, OceanLog PC Download Kit Oceanic's VT 3 wireless and air-integrated computer is ideal for divers who dive with multiple tanks or want to keep an eye on their buddy's air. The VT3 can accommodate up to three different Nitrox mixes and offers wireless capability with up to three (3) transmitters. The large screen and easy-to-read bar graphs allow you to monitor your dive's status without strain or confusion.
