Shopper i would like to use this on the Rover 2. Is the tightening ring metal instead of plastic? looks like it would be hard to turn with cold hands.
RICHARD D I've installed this on my Mares reg and I've had no issues with it. It is all metal, aside the o-ring. I've never had any issues using it in the cold.
MICHAEL G The DIN connector wheel is made of metal, correct. I am diving in moderately cold water (avg. 53?F) and never had any trouble removing or tightening the wheel when my hands were cold. I just recently bought a new regulator with DIN connector that has a plastic wheel, and I must say I much prefer the metal wheel on the Mares kit because it feels much sturdier.
JERRY V it turns quite well due to the large diameter and the knurling, I haven't
had any trouble making it secure.
WALTER M I have used this for years and never had a problem! It's easy to turn and robust. I use this in my deco bottle. Now I live in Florida so never thought about turning it with cold hands, well maybe in the winter. enjoy!

MARK C I use this on a Mares Azimuth rebreather. The tightening ring is knurled steel. I have used this during an ice dive with no issues in turning the ring. Becuae of the "tight configuration" of the Azimuth regulators, a larger plastic ring would not fit. Hope this helps.
LAWRENCE K The ring is metal. I use 2 MR12's and haven't had any problems tightnening or loosening. I would advise caution about the o-ring. Sometimes it has tendencies of coming out.
