DAVID M Basically I picked this up because it was cheap and seemed like a good starter camera. The camera itself leaves a bit to be desired on the image sensor underwater, but comes up quick and is easy to work underwater. The picture quality won't beat out a SeaLife camera, but the video is better, and for half the price seemed worth it.

carlos z Greetings, I have a Intova IC 800, and I have taken great pictures with it but the camera is "thinking" several seconds to take the picture, it is slow to focus and therefore has no scene to correct the lack of deep red jacks believe that these failures persist pcs in IC14 model? or have already been improved? wonder why I want to change the camera. Thank you for your help.

SCOT M Yes the IC 14 is slow as well. Alot of it depends on the setting it is on. For underwater photos I had to buy a red filter. Anything below 25 feet was coming out blue.

MOHAMMAD K My experience with this camera is that the problem still persist. I can put the camera in a multi frame mode (take 4 pictures in a row) and it does well. Otherwise, you will experience blurr and poor picture quality.

PEGGY A Unfortunately, the Intova IC14 has the same slow speed. I used it on one dive and sent it back in ... for that very reason. Missed too many shots. I did buy the DX-GE5 - Sea & Sea (small size) faster click to picture time, an good picture to picture cycle time. More money though. Good luck

DAVID B I have been satisfied with the overall performance if my IC14. Color at depth is dependent on adequate lighting as with all cameras so supplemental lighting is something I would recommend. I hope this helps in your decision.

SCOT M My camara came with the cable. If you give the company your camara name they should be able to ship one to you.

RON S Spencer, I believe it is either a mini USB or micro USB. Look at the link below and also look at the port shape on the camera to figure out the type. You can buy it locally at any electronics store cablestogo com/resources/usb.asp

PEGGY A The intova IC14 comes with a AC charger and a USB cable that attaches/detaches from the AC charging unit. If you have the AC charger but do not have the cable, I believe a "std" usb cable with a mini connector on the opposite end should work just fine.

Shopper Does this camera have a custom white balance feature?

CHRISTOPHER P It comes with a white balance card that you can take under water with you. And it has a 'set white balance' mode. I haven't used it yet. But, yes it comes with the ability to set white balance.

GLEN SR M will this record audio and video at the same time ?

DAVID M Yes it will. The camera is just a general point-n-shoot, and supports 720p video (can't really call it HD since the sensor isn't all that great) that saves into AVI video format (also not compressed). Underwater it will just pick up breathing noise from your regulator, but above water it will record sound just like any other camera.

DAVID B Yes your Intova will record a/v simultaneously. I am sure you will be very satisfied with the quality of both the still images and the video clips. Sami C I can't make my mind between the IC 12 or the IC 14? Is there a big difference? what would u recommend?

BILL D I had a c12 and sent it back. It is not as good of a comera and the cost is still cheap.. I am allot happier with the c14.

MOHAMMAD K Aside from the pixel count, they are about the same.

MATTHEW O It takes good out of water picks too. More MP makes bigger pictures to show off your fun. The Hs video is great too. You get what you pay for. :)

Monica s You can add the Intova ISS 4000 STROBE to further improve the lighting.

Shopper The features on this camera state wide lens. Does this diminish the need for a wide ange lens?

Brett H Though the stock lens on this camera goes fairly wide the new intova wide angle lens for the IC14 still increases it quite a bit. (unknown) ( Is this a good land camera as well as dive camera? In other words is this camera great for taking pics and video on land without the housing?

Monica s Hello, Ideally you will need a camera for land shots and a camera for underwater. The picture quality for this set up will be great for underwater.

Gary Y Does the IC14 camera have any settings/modes specifically for underwater photos to compensate for things like water color (e.g., green/blue) and depth?

CHRISTOPHER P No, none that I have figured out yet. You can use a red filter if you are trying to shoot video/pictures without a flash. I have posted a review that should be up in a few days, with a couple of pictures taken with the IC14. It takes great pictures with the built in flash and make-shift diffuser.

Shopper Is the dark spot in the lower left corner, caused by flash placement on previous models; eliminated in this model?

DAVID M It's still there so you need the flash diffuser attachment.

Shopper how frequently does one need to replace the O rings on the case? Where can I find replacement O rings for the new IC 14 housing?

Brett H It's pretty common for housing manufacturers to suggest you change out the o-ring yearly or whenever it is showing wear whichever comes first, though many times o-rings are in service for much longer than that. We do not stock the replacement part at the moment, you may want to contact Intova to see where you might find one.

Ok, I've taken the camera on several dives now and used it above water as a normal point and shoot. The most disappointing thing was the low sensitivity of the sensor (pretty much the same as my cell phone camera), and it showed in the dive photos. It also is a pain to manually configure the light settings underwater. Also, I had problems with SD card acceptance (off brands seemed to work better), and the video files are not compressed (which would double the time available for recording) and record at 24fps.

Otherwise, the camera had good battery life (I can get two hour-long dives in on one charge), and with quick shot on it is fast with taking photos. Underwater the housing is easy to deal with, and it has not leaked on me. It is a very compact point and shoot, lightweight and portable. Just be sure to pick up several high capacity SD cards, as you will burn through the storage space. The video looks good, but is slightly choppy due to the slow frame rate. With the free delivery and cost equivalent to an underwater housing, it was a good way to start, but next time I may just by the underwater housing for a better point-n-shoot.

Just completed a week long dive safari with this camera & I'd say it is just OK.

The Good: compact, sturdy, good seals

The Bad: Too many options & buttons with hardly any relevant to underwater photography. Also no idea where to get replacement seals for later

The ugly : Very slow to focus & often turns out OOF photos. The results upto 10m depeth were acceptable however beyond that you can expect to scrap 7 out of 10 photos

I bought this camera as a starter to get into digital underwater photography, replacing my old 35mm Sea & Sea camera. For the price, it doesn't get any better than this. 14MP, 720p HD video mode, housing included! The two attached pictures were taken on my first day of diving with the camera.
