As with other reviewers, the unit was leaking air. I communicated with LP tech support, and they told me how to adjust the resistance. Use a 3/16 inch allen key and insert it through the male quick disconnect. Use the long arm of the allen key, since the adjustment screw is recessed way inside. I then turned the allen key for zero air flow and then adjusted the flow upwards until I reached a point where it was fairly easy to breath, but more importantly did not exhibit air leak any more. There was no need to disassemble the unit. I think there is no defect in the product; it just may need an adjustment. I hope this helps those who have complained about it leaking air. Good product, good price. LP tech support very good, thanks

Comments about Blue Reef Octo + Inflator with inflator hose:

Good idea. Havent had the opportunity to use yet because the connection to the manual inflator hose is too large, so I have to find a larger diameter hose that will still fit the connection at the bladder.

Comments about Blue Reef Octo + Inflator with inflator hose:

Did not free flow once in a week of diving. the hose is a bit long and caused tension on the fill tube. At the end of one dive I found that my fill tube had come loose (I rarely use air in my wing so I did not notice until I surfaced. Since I was near the boat is was no big deal but I will deal with the hose length for next time. Also the LP hose has a huge weight on it, I guess to get it to stay down, so you really are not saving any weight overall but I do like having one less hose. It does breath well enough for a back up.
